KFC continues to reach out to the communities it serves every day. Since the initiation of this program in 2014, KFC’s Project Book Bag platform provides a quality school bag filled back to school necessities such as exercise books, pencils, water bottle, lunch bag and other stationary items to Primary Schools students. Project Book Bag is a part of KFC’s long term corporate commitment to give back to the communities with a goal of providing a school bag to all Primary School students in Dominica. Every year 2-3 schools are selected to be the beneficiaries of these essential school items which aim is to ensure that the students are bestowed with the necessary stationery items needed to start the school year.
This year the students from the Campbell, Mahaut and Warner Primary Schools are recipients of the bags containing some of the key school items needed for the school year. KFC Restaurant General Manager, Leandra Henderson, said: “we at KFC are simply delighted to be able to make this contribution towards the learning and cultivation of our future leaders, doctors, nurses, businessmen and women and future employees of KFC”. She encouraged the students to learn as “education is the cornerstone of our society and the only way they the students can have a better future for themselves, their families and make a meaningful contribution to the growth and development of the country”.
The principal of the Warner Primary School, Mr. Bertrand, expressed his gratitude “on behalf of the students, teachers and parents of the school by conveying heartfelt thanks to KFC for such a timely and thoughtful donation of bags and school supplies to all the students at the school. KFC is showing good corporate citizenship by investing in the vibrant minds present at the Warner Primary School. The students were highly elated and showed such great excitement for the gifts. We look forward to your continued partnership in the future in the interest of education at Warner Primary. Thank you, KFC, for bringing such joy to our students.”
KFC is people focused which operates under strict standards for food safety & customer service, to provide the best quality product and service to our customers. Staff empowerment and community outreach programs such as Project Book Bag are also of priority for the restaurant as we continue to focus on people to make a difference. KFC Dominica is locally owned and operated by Fine Foods Inc, which is part of the KNassief Group of Companies.
I do not like the name KFC printed on the bag, not because they are donating it to them. Now everyone knows where the kids back comes from. people should not know where the child get his/her back.
Thank you KFC, for supporting the communities of Dominica.
This is not a joke…. Thanks KFC…. Very nice gift to these little ones. However, I feel those KFC logos should come with a warning…….Eat in moderation!!
I agree with you a million percent!!
