Is it only me, or does anyone else notice, there are not locally grown or produced products listed in any of the articles about Save A Lot or Fine Foods big sales. If Dominica continues to import more and more of it’s food, the cost of eating, and therefore the cost of living must go up.
We need to focus a little more on locals foods and products if we are to stop the rapid increase in the cost of living in Dominica, and other islands. Stop promoting so much imported food and let us get back to growing our own.
Its sad that Dominica is so expensive, as a visitor it causes me to limit my trips to the city. I and many others would love to shop here but it leaves us no choose to make barrels and boxes to bring along on vacation with us. I’m disppointed in Save-A-Lot, to see the prices of the american products is ridiculous, they came for a purpose and it has no sense, its as expensive as the other supermarkets, I find Greens supermarket much more affordable then Save-A-Lot’s. Lets see what Fine Foods has to offer. This people doesn’t know how to make business, the cheaper you sell compare to other business place, I’m convince it will bring good business. Look at the Chinese, some of their products may be fragile, but it affordable for peoples pocket. For once be prudent when havinh a business.
Unfortunately, you are quite right and it is everywhere in Dominica. That is why the Chinese businesses are flourishing. People go to them to get relief from these ridiculous prices. It seems that Dominicans do not understand the concept of volume. It looks like they are trying to make all their profit on a couple items. In the end they lose because they do not move enough items quickly enough so they end up with a lot of old or expired items.
Save allot has change it”s name to spend allot, so hopefully the new store price will lower and competitive to spend allot.
good move, i approve keep up the good work
Now you gona see traffic chaos in this vicinity.
I actually thought the renovation was to ease up the traffic as their trucks used to be parked so close to the road when they offloaded. smh
Everything comes with a price. We must decide if it is worth the price.
