China looking to invest in Jamaica

Jamaica's Minister of Finance Audley Shaw

The next phase of investments in Jamaica, from China, could come in the financial sector. The observation was made as Chinese companies say they are interested in expanding operations in the Caribbean.

In meetings on Wednesday with Finance Minister Audley Shaw, China’s Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Chao, noting Jamaica’s economic recovery, expressed hope it will continue.

But Mr Wang didn’t stop there.

If you thinks chinese taking over the world you are so wrong. Chinese love to work hard right round the clock, we love to hang out with friends, gangs, crews and do little or no work. It is their culture to do business, that’s not our culture. Chinese love to sign new contracts, we love to party, keep dance, gamble and buy out the bar’s 6-packs. A lot of people say they want jobs, but all they really want is a source of income so they can survive in these times. What do the chinese want? They want to reach to the top even if they got to do extra hours or days to get there. And when they get there they dont tell themselves ok i am on top now so i’ll just sit here and do nothing like us. Instead they do more so they can always be ahead of us.

When I read the article the first thought that came to my mind is that they will take over the world. If not the world it will be the West Indies. It does appear to be so to many people as myself.
Granted they are doing well in financially assisting and building up the islands, money which those islands do not have.
If we live long enough we will experience it or the future generation. Note that there is already an influx of Chinese people who have set up residence and shop in the islands as Dominica. In time Chinese will outnumber the islanders.
Consider as more nationals migrate and some do not have babies and not enough :), it does appear that it will be a Chinese-takeover and in time.
China’s help is appreciated. Nevertheless, West Indian governments must ensure that this will not occur in the future.

Jamaica already has their own homegrown Chinese big businessmen who came there over 150 years ago. So all the new Chinese have to do is link up with the old JA Chinese and things cool.

My friends you can jump high jump low, this is the future of the world. While you talking negative and cooling out with your black label, bling, dumb music and happy hour, the Chinese working and moving on.
