Edmund Paul Savarin of Check Hall is the first ever highest winner of the Dominica National Lottery’s (DNL) Daily3 game.
Savarin was presented with a cheque of $27,500 Tuesday morning at the Dominica National Lottery office.
Sales and Marketing Manager at the Dominica National Lottery Ken George said that Savarin, who actually won $28,000 but had cashed $500, made history when he emerged winner of the jackpot.
“Daily3 is a game that one decides how much he or she chooses by betting on that particular game… I am very much proud … he has become the first person to ever win the highest. We had earlier on a top prize for $15,000 which stood for a very long time…” George explained.
Savarin won the game on August 6. He purchased his ticket at Jossie’s Delight; the winning number was 370.
He expressed contentment in his earnings and told media that it was always his aim to break the record since he started playing the game in 2005. He encouraged player to, “Keep on playing, and don’t get discouraged.”
Savarin informed that he had been successful in other lottery games in previous years so his winning did not come as a surprise.
When asked, Savarin said that he did not want to disclose his plans or secret to his winnings.
“I cannot give out my technique … You have to plan,” He said.
The Daily3 has paid out to the public for the month of July over $200,000, according to the DNL.
