Institutions benefit from Elias Nassief Foundation

Elias Nassief has been described by some as a ‘business legend’

Twenty four institutions have benefited from donations totaling $61,500 from the Elias Nassief foundation.

The presentations were made at the 17th annual donations and awards of the foundation at the Fort Young Hotel on Thursday.

Those selected for donations included day care centers care for the elderly, health, education and Spiritual institutions and centenarians. Specials contributions were also made to five former employees.

“The Elias Nassief small business award in memory of our late father’s Entrepreneurship, will continue to be a major contribution of the annual awards,” Phillip Nassief, who was representing the foundation, said.

The foundation’s small business award went to owner of Kings Garment, Haitian businessman Petit Louis Acceus for his contribution to Dominica’s small business sector.

The three centenarians who were recognized are Marie Anslem Alexander of Dubique (105 years), Muriel Almaira Boyd of Checkhall (104 years) and  Nora Maria Victor-Charles of Cottage (103 years)

Piper you are the only one bringing up black or white ?????????? Maybe the black man away donating a barrel gave away more from what he had than Mr. Nassief. Don’t get where you anger is coming from.

My problem is, I like to see fairness and giving a person his/her dues no matter their background. I do not follow the crowd.

Allu Dominicans are something else eh. When a black man who resides in the US dontates a barrel, he gets all kinds of accolades. If he is a black man who donates $500 toward scholarships for kids, everybody falls all over themselves to praise him.

If his name is Nassief, it is almost like nobody notices. Then you are the first to shout racism when somebody rubs you the wrong way.

Do you see the hypocrisy in your actions?

This is great stuff by an org. that means well, thanks for caring.
At last something good came out of the late Elias. Crude fella he was. He would have achieved lasting greatness if not for the way he treated the people of Mahaut and Grand Bay, however, they taught him a good lesson about kindness in the end.

congratulations to all three matriachs. They have truly seen and heard a lot in their life time. I have my own saying, in that, they have eaten a lot of bread in life.
