On Wednesday 18th May 2016, Jolly’s Manufacturing officially launched their new line of products under the theme “Sustainable Manufacturing for the Future”.
The launch introduced the general public to new products including Bay Off Insect Repellant Cream and Spray, Babylis Male and Female Adult Deodorant, Babylis Cream, MB Ointment and Bathing Soaps.
The featured speaker, Supervisor of Jolly’s Manufacturing Ms. LouAnn Jno Baptiste said at the launching that “these products came about mainly because we want to create products which contain few to no chemicals, products that are all natural and most importantly safe for our bodies. For example, there is ongoing research on the link between aluminum compounds found in antiperspirants and deodorant and breast cancer. As a result, the formulation of our deodorant does not contain aluminum compounds.”
Dr. Orrin Jolly, Assistant Manager and Pharmacist at Jolly’s Pharmacy also spoke at the function, highlighting the humble beginnings of Jolly’s Manufacturing, as well its transformation into a modern manufacturing company.
Saverin Mackenzie, from the Dominica Manufacturers Association, said that he “is happy that Jolly’s Pharmacy is taking manufacturing to another level” and encourages local manufacturers to continue persevering. His wish is that local manufacturers will one day be able to compete with regional and international manufacturers.
Jolly’s Manufacturing is a subsidiary company of Jolly’s Pharmacy with a presence on both the local and regional markets including Guadeloupe and Martinique. It is the manufacturer of locally made products such as Sulphur Ointment, Turpentine Oil and Black Disinfectant also known as Jeyes.
