LIAT announces new summer routes

Regional airline LIAT has announced  that it is introducing several new routes as part of its 2012 summer schedule.

The airline says it is about to provide more travel options to the regional market.

“We continue to add more efficient and effective ways of connecting the region and its people,” Manager of Schedule Planning, Dale Stoute said in a LIAT release.

He says the 10-week schedule, which runs until September 11, will offer a daily service into and out of Martinique connecting passengers to Antigua and other destinations in the north.

A daily flight is also expected to be introduced from St. Kitts to San Juan, Puerto Rico through St. Maarten.

“Two daily San Juan flights from Tortola (British Virgin Islands) were also reintroduced offering morning and evening departures,” according to the release.

Customers originating or connecting in Antigua are being told that they now have an additional flight to San Juan with the introduction of a 6:45am flight from the V.C. Bird International Airport.

LIAT says the addition of these services during the summer are expected to benefit passengers travelling to San Juan for shopping and other services, as well as passengers connecting on other airlines through the San Juan hub.

All other airlines came and where are they today. Dem gone. LIAT is part of our culture and is here to stay regardless of what. Me aint flying nothing else but LIAT.
The reason why the tickets are so high is because of the government taxes that sometimes the taxes are even more than the ticket. We have to blame the governments about the taxes which is the reason why inter regional travel is so expensive.

I have problem and would like the Government of Dominica to address it with liat. Why do we have to waste time and go through security in Antigua again when we are intransit. We are just making a connection or changing planes. we have already gone through security in the port where we embarked on the plane. Its a waste of our time and more stress standing in lines for long peroids. I would like the Gov’t of Dominica to address this with LIAT.

LIAT can price their tickets as high as they want. They can do what they want, when they want, if they want. There is no other option but LIAT. So all you can jump high, all you jump low or swim. LIAT is in control of flying through out the Caribbean.

it would be better if liat concentrated on getting passengers to their destination on time on the routes that the already have.i took a liat flight at 9:00am to san juan via antigua last october. i did not make it to san juan till 7:30 pm that night missed my connecting flight which was at 1:pm.to make matters worse was the dirty attitude of the liat rep in san juan
LIAT HAS SURELY OST ME AS A COUSTOMER.

    • June 28, 2012

LIAT is slow but sure, LIAT is not like Redjet to leave you at your destination high and dry, they will get you their no matter what time it is.

Americans on a whole have a nasty attitude thats why I dont fly to the states.

Any countries that don’t have an international airport, the people will always suffer, especially if its only one airline, like LIAT coming to your country, it will make situation more difficult for the travelers. My anger with the government, is all the millions of dollars they spending, doing pieces of project, they can think big by. Start with an Int airport, they spend EC$84 million extending the airport, $27m on a palace, $8m on Liat, and I can go on & on… that’s why people confuse with Liat, there are no other airline but Liat, take it or leave it, it’s the fact…

LIAT is Dominica’s National Airline, invest in it. The other islands pay millions for empty flights to land, do you want to put Dominica in that?

We need straight flights from the Virgin Islands to Dominica and from DA to the VI or PR. An option to avoid stopping in Antigua.

we can’t do that cos we don’t have the traffic on a consistent basis to support it.

Dominicans, your reputation preceeds you all, no Airline wants to fly there because of your attitude and negative behaviour. Invest in LIAT and gain control with flights. Dont invest , no control.
