LIAT introduces series of low fares

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – LIAT, The Caribbean Airline, has introduced a series of low fares across the network in a bid to make travel easier and more affordable for its customers.

Head of Corporate Communications Desmond Brown said the new low fares will be available up until November 30, noting that LIAT is very conscious of its central role in air transportation in the region and continues to do all it can to provide the public with affordable fares.

“LIAT has always been aware of the needs of the travelling public and has developed these “Great Low Fares‟ where customers may travel at significantly reduced rates,” he said.

I wonder how come, out of all these comments, nobody has realised that the list is just a sample and does not include every single route where discounts exist. Those are just some key routes for liat used as an example of how different the new fares offered will be for the offer period.

There are no other options to fly to dominica. So y should liat give us lo fares. Liat not stupid. All the other islands on the list dont need liat but we in dominica need them. Thats a business move.

By the way the government of dominica invested in liat also as a business move to fatten there pockets and not in the interest of the country.

  6. October 8, 2015

Perhaps next time Dominican taxpayers bail out an airline, it will go to one who knows we exist.

Well well, recently the PM praised LIAT for work done here after TS Erika, and he also made comments about persons who criticize the air line. Now tell me, is it that LIAT needs no criticizm after this baltant disrespect to the people of this nation? Is this the type of \”returns\” Dominca gets for it\’s investment in LIAT?!!

That’s r shame on LIAT.Reallyyyy, Liat treats Dominica that way!!! Well well.they canceled my flight from Barbados transit from New York saying service discontinue due to Erika,so aren’t they aware of Dominicans needing that brake.please give me a brake…

    • Me
      October 8, 2015

“Break” Jj! Please, “break”. If you tell LIAT you want a brake instead they may comply and stop you.

Bravo wii LIAT – so Dominicans have no money, not even the discounted price they will be able to afford. YESA!!! – it’s high time we have more reliable air travel service from Dominica anyways, now may be a very good time to put things in place for that.

Domincans complaining too much and always calling on liat to fail so maybe that’s why they left it out..

Hey hey, this is the low fares list, so why would anyone expect dominica to be on there, wait, in a few weeks when LIAT raise the fares, then we will see dominica name on that list  And the P.M. invested tax payers money into LIAT, and told us how wonderful and great the idea was,” thanks” Any updates on that other great DLP government, night landing program, that was suppose to take us to the next level, with 3000 passenger arriving

We as Dominica ns have a right to feel disrespected by LIAT particularly after we gave them money ee dont have however Dominica has not been generating the business that would merit more attention from LIAT. Our economy had been on life support pre Erika and so I can understand LIAT’s decision as strictly business. It is not just about not getting in on the discount package but also getting equity in scheduling.
I can also we understand that we have paid for a ride in coach no matter what the circumstances are but business is about making money

In august my wife paid LIAT us$190 for our son to travel to Barbados on august 27,but because of the storm which was on the same day, all fights were canceled. In September LIAT asked the passengers who were affected to reschedule their flights at no extra cost. LIAT also gave a time limit to avoid the extra cost. When My wife called Antigua to booked the flight within the time stipulated by LIAT.Yet she was charged an extra us$225,00.When asked why us$225 more? the answer was. That is the new fare.
Whenever there is no competition the customers always suffer.

What does that say to the proponents of an international airport when not even LIAT does think we are important?

    October 7, 2015

Hello and good evening my people. Well I have to say that this Headline is really deceiving a specially when it’s on DNO. I read the headline saying I might come to Dominica for Independence but then I open and read the article and what a disappointment . According to Liat Dominica don’t exist or we just don’t deserve any attention when one would think that since we just got damage by Erica we should be the one place to receive the lowest fares. We must find another Airline to service our country.

  21. Prophet Peter Augustine
    October 7, 2015

Prophet Peter Augustine, If your prophecy doesn’t come to pass you will cause Dominicans to not believe prophets again you know. You will even cause them to mock prophets. Let’s hope your prophecy comes to pass but at the moment it sure has some very thick clouds hanging over it that will make your boy seen and pass as the worse prime Minister that ever existed

  22. Prophet Peter Augustine
    October 7, 2015

It was at this same airport Peter R Augustine hade given his word of prophecy right? Maybe his prophecy got LIAT scared and that’s why they did not even include Dominica on their list. Let’s go back to his prophecy again so we could see if he is a false prophet or a prophet of Truth.

Thus sayeth peter R Augustine: “And if I may be bold to be prophetic, I also have no doubt that in years to come when other nations will face disasters as we have had, or worse than we have had, they will look for you, your counsel, your advice and your experience,” Augustine noted.” Peter what did you drink nou?

Thus saith Peter: “I think it would be remiss of me not to say something about our esteemed Prime Minister and I thank God for you sir.”

“I still believe that he is the best that we have had in this country so far. I thank God for you sir, and not only that I believe that in no uncertain terms you have shown the level of leadership that you are capable of demonstrating.”

    prophet…

    October 7, 2015

Liat does not surprise me at all. For a longtime Liat has been giving Dominicans a raw deal. Series of low fares and not for gold or silver Dominica on the list. Liat is going to international airports instead.
The government of Dominica should have never invested in Liat. Data putting tax payers money where our mouth isn’t. Liat can say praise God Caribbean Airlines isn’t going to Dominica and so forth. Long time Liat would have been history. Time to introduce Caribbean Airlines to deal islands especially Dominica. Who cares bout Liat; leaving u in Antigua tonight.
We never chose Liat in Dominica ; you chose when there are options.

    October 7, 2015

This does not benefit us in Dominica. Also I have noted that since the reopening of the Douglas-Charles airport post storm Erica there are no direct flights to Barbados. Normally Liat has at least 3-4 direct flights to Barbados per day. Now all flights are routed through Antigua

    Craps
Even Liat is giving the thumbs down to Dominica.

They are treating good old Dominica like a pappyshow!

  36. October 7, 2015

How are non shareholder islands benefiting from low fares and Dominica which is a shareholder is not benefitting. There must be some serious error, I am usually in support of LIAT but this is an 8 million $$$$$ insult to Dominica that needs to be explained.

    October 7, 2015

Can someone please bring me my glasses? Thank you! Oh! So it wasn’t because I was not wearing my glasses I did not see Dominica of the list. Now Mr. LIAT, isn’t Dominica one of the Caribbean Islands that LIAT fly to? Dominica can plow money into LIAT’s pocket but when LIAT introduces reduction in fares Dominica should not benefit. I see! Well thank you LIAT.
