LIAT launches online checking service

liat logoLIAT, The Caribbean Airline, has launched online check in, giving customers the option to complete their check in formalities on the internet, at their own convenience, while avoiding queues at the airport check in counters.

Starting October 26, online check in can be done on www.liat.com 24 hours before the scheduled departure of the customer’s flight and up to two hours prior to departure. The new service is available to LIAT customers in possession of a valid revenue ticket, who are travelling with hand baggage only.

The service is currently available to customers travelling from Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and Trinidad. Further destinations will be added in due course.

After having completed the online check in formalities, customers can print their boarding pass and proceed through immigration and security and they can go straight to the departure gate.

Customers with baggage to be checked in should arrange to be present at the airport check in counter at least two hours before their scheduled flight departure time.

Online check in is not available to customers requiring special assistance or booked on a stand-by basis.

Oh yeah, you were well glad to take $8 million from our P.M. for your airline. Give it back if that’s your attitude. Screw LIAT.

Dominicans are well aware that our tourism product has significant opportunities for improvement. But one of those improvements is to develop alternatives to LIAT, a costly airline that has repeatedly proven that our island is low on its list of priorities.

LIAT will be saving some more money. Checking in on line. In time LIAT may lay off more staff. This is what Internet; rather technology has done to the world, created massive unemployment. Do not blame the government.

What I want to know is why LIAT taking us from bad to worse? How the hell they taking us from PR all the way down to Barbados via Antigua and passing over Dominica to have us overnight in Barbados and then bring us back to Dominica?? Can the powers that be in Gov set LIAT damn straight since they’re the ones shelling out millions to them? Clearly Dominican are the ones taken most advantage of since we don’t have an international airport. SMDH

Who cares about LIAT? Is there anything they will do or say help Dominica? DNO, I mean, what kind of country are we living in? How helpful is DNO or the Media to Dominica? I mean I expected to read or hear something relevant in the news today instead of LIAT and all the irrelevant things I am seeing on DNO today. Today is Sept. 26, 2015 and eleven days ago the nations PM informed the nation that he would be out of state for ten days, to be with his wife in NY, who was giving birth. As we speak, the man is in Singapour addressing passport issue, while Dominica continues to have problems left, right, center, and all over. What is going on in this country?
