UPDATE: St. Vincent airport reopens

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – LIAT has resumed normal operations to and from St. Vincent with the reopening of the E. T. Joshua Airport.

The airport was closed earlier this afternoon due to the fire tenders there being unserviceable.

LIAT is now taking steps to facilitate customers who were disrupted by the airport’s closure and passengers are advised to expect some delays.

LIAT regrets any inconvenience caused.

So Dominica is the only country in the Caribbean — perhaps the world– that is without a international airport. However is view of this fact tourism is put on the front burner as the capital driving force of the economy(an economy which is the worst in the Caribbean. I thought tourism and such a necessary facility as an airport that is international can’t go without the other if impact is to be felt on an economic front. Dominica is they most ill-advised people on the planet: tell them they are pretty and they will praise you but describe them as ugly they will condemn you.

@ J, is that your primary concern. I am one who bashes LIAT whenever they mess up, but when they react proactively in situations where lives and property must be protected; I strongly believe that they should be given a hand shake.

Safety is the best “tea” to drink and LIAT religiously drinks it.

way papa, you trying to justify the 8 million man?

Nadira was accommodated just as any other person from any other island would have been due to flight delays.

She landed in St. Vincent last night at about 9pm, thanks to the INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT there.
