The National Bank of Dominica Ltd (NDB) has a new General Manager.
Michael Bird will lead the overall operations of the bank.
Prior to joining NBD, Bird was General Manager of Business Control with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC).
He has worked in the Caribbean region as well as in Canada and South East Asia.
NBD’s Chairman, Patrick Pemberton says Bird’s leadership experience in the banking industry as well as his familiarity with regional markets made him an ideal choice for the role.
“I know the question is going to come up ‘why a non-Dominican’ but we advertised locally and regionally and all the applications were dealt with and that was our choice,” Pemberton said.
Bird, who officially took up office on Monday, said that he is excited to be joining the NBD team.
