Chief Executive Officer of the Dominica Air and Seaport Authority (DASPA), Benoit Bardouille, is denying claims that LIAT will soon be cutting night landing flights into the island.
The matter has been mentioned recently in some circles and on social media but Bardouille told DNO it is all wrong.
“There is no truth in the sense that LIAT is cutting night landing flight into Dominica because, you know, the time that the airport is opened until 10:00 pm and we are opened to flights…” he said.
According Bardouille, LIAT has been rescheduling it flights throughout the region and Dominica is no exception.
He noted this will not affect night landing in Dominica.
“So there is no truth to the fact that LIAT is cutting flights in terms of night landing,” Bardouille insisted.
He said Dominica’s main airport, the now Douglas-Charles Airport, is always “available” for incoming flights.
“The airport is available, it is the company scheduling in terms of how their flights go during the course of any one day and then if you have any delay then the airport is still available,” he said.
Night landing has been hailed by the government as the “largest leap forward” in the development of Dominica.
