The Prime Minister will be holding high-level talks in Dubai

The Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, is spending two days in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) strengthening economic and political ties with one of the fastest growing and most strategically important countries in the Middle East.
He will be meeting investors in various sectors from Dubai and the rest of the Middle East, in a bid to bring much needed Foreign Direct Investments (FDI) to Dominica to create jobs, stimulate economic activity and to help in the post-Erika reconstruction.

He will also be addressing a conference of Service Providers of Dominica’s Citizenship by Investment Programme in Dubai, arranged by Range Developments, the developer of the Cabrits Kempinski Resort, which will be built on Douglas Bay in Cabrits on the north shore of the island, close to the town of Portsmouth.

No one has done more than you to drive this country into the ground. I guarantee you that the people here will not want the Saudi\’s coming to stay.

thats the worst leadership i ever seen or heard of.

Look at that handsome smile on the face of our precious and beloved Supreme Leader. The expensive watch, the nice suit, the man is simply the picture of success. I guess this is why there are so many comments that exposes the jealousy and envy of the Uneducated Wicked People and their idiot supporters. People who know that when the Supreme Leader, His Eminence, His Majesty, Divine and Ordained Knight of the Most Holy Roman Catholic Church, the most loved Prime Minister, Dr. Roosevelt Skerrit steps out of a plane in any part of the world it mean MONEY! Money that they want for themselves but can’t get. Money that Labourites will use to have a blast this Christmas, buy big toys, have huge parties and travel to shop. They sit at home fuming at the perks and benefits of being a loyal and faithful Labourite, wishing that they could be a part of the “inner circle” and knowing that they gave their allegiance to the wrong party. Yes, our Supreme Leader is in Dubai…where are you?

The PM looks like he is in pain. He knows that Dominica is in a cash crunch since VAT receipts have plummeted since Erika, and the worse part is that he is a salesman in Dubai with nothing to sell. That is nothing to sell except a last vestige of colonialism – namely Dominicans ability to travel within the Commonwealth and much of Europe without a visa. He is selling what our ‘colonial masters’ left us on their way out. He is not selling anything that we produced through our ingenuity, creativity, and talent, but instead something that is not really ours to sell. The sad part for our PM is that he knows this and is sickened by it, but has no choice – we need the cash. “Let your yes be yes and your no, no” Mr. PM and your country will be back you. No more spin and half truths please.

While they talking more hotels check out the amazing race adventure to get to Dominica. I commented earlier and I feel compelled to post this information and hope that something is done.

We only have to pray for our PM. After Erika things have become harder, tougher, real rough. I can just imagine how overwhelmed he is to get Dominica back to a crawling position; and if passport selling is the only hope for us; believe me things will crumble. The thing is, alot of money have been wasted in the past – the Government have been reckless in their spending and believed that everything will remain the same. There was no initiative to create a drive in the economy – there is nothing we could turn back to since nothing was creating. We have to look deep into our concsciences and understand that things have gotten really bad and will get worse with time. I am not a preacher of doom and gloom, but this is reality. We have to pray – go down on our knees and pray for our beautiful country.

This prime minister is the leader that i have seen who is the most daft in his speeches ,,he is a joker,he makes the people laugh like it is a clown show, makes them dance and during election offer them a few bags of ciment and other building materials in order for them to vote for him, then after the election the don’t have a job to sustain themselves,Dominicans that are in dominica wake up and smell the coffee ,it is time for skerrit to go ,dominica is sinking and the water is not far from it’s nose..

All that boy went to Dubai to do is sell maybe two or three passports, return home and talk crap to his supporters. The man is wasting time! Nobody with any substantial amount of money is interested in Skerrit and Dominica! Read the following:

    Barbados magnet for millionaires
Little Barbados is a “primary business address”, and in some cases the home of 66 individuals worth a combined $60 billion, says an international wealth intelligence firm. And Wealth-X thinks the island is best poised in the CaribRead Morebean to attract more of these ultra high net worth (UHNW) people with individual wealth of at least $60 million….

Hartley should advise Skerrit how to attract at least one of those billionaires in Barbados to invest in some sort of manufacturing industry in Dominica. Skerrit keep on selling Dominica passports under some false pretence of economic citizenship.

Strange though none of the so called economic citizens have residence in or ever set foot in Dominica. It would appear as if the almost hundred billionaires residing in Barbados did not have to buy a passport to be attracted to Barbados.

We do not know the government of Barbados sells they national documents to criminals who do not know the location of Barbados. Dominicans as long as we keep Skerrit as head of Dominica, we will all die in poverty, event if all of my money finish, I will collect welfare, her we do not have such help in Nature island!

Nice post, Francisco. I wanted to add by way of support that Dominica will never be able to attract any form of serious investments and persons because the country is broke – in more ways than one. The level of incompetence, corruption and maladministration is mind-numbing and impossible to overcome. Barbados now, well she is a different story, altogether. I’ve always envied that nation, this model of what a truly Caribbean civilization ought to be. Read what former UN Ambassador think about that country here: http://www.nationnews.com/nationnews/news/12634/barbados

Kind of unrelated to what you said, but I’ve never understood how Barbados & other islands have a higher population than Dominica, yet Dominica is bigger than them all (not including Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic/Haiti etc), and Dominica is also poorer. Maybe the number of slaves played a part in that, but even then it still doesn’t make sense because the other islands have increased a lot since then, and it can’t be the number of people being born/dying/moving overseas either because the other islands have a lot more people being born, dying or moving overseas. Another thing, I’ve been to a few other islands and actually seen many people from the UK, The USA and other places that have moved to the Caribbean permanently, yet Dominica has sold a lot of passports but I didn’t see the same thing there, how does that make sense? I live in the UK though so maybe there was people but I just didn’t notice them…

Since Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit is de facto Minister of all Ministries, I think he missed the boat by not going to France. He had an opportunity to meet many leaders and give a live experience of how Climate change affected Dominica and will continue to affect small island states and he blowed it by not going. I would support him going there, even as an observer so as to have the opportunity to source funds and present a legitimate case. He missed it ….. How sad!!!!

Oh how I miss the days when there were brave men willing to sacrifice their lives for change. Tax payers are footing the bill for skerrit to go around and effectively sell Dominica. Dominica has nothing to offer these folks. Sustsinable Growth of a country must be internal. We cannot fix our air access problem, we have a crime problem, we cannot enforce laws, the current laws in Dominica are not on track with changing times and technology solely because our law makers are too dumb to understand yet we want to put a jack in thorough bred race. Why is all this happening without parliament. This economic citizenship has only brought hardship for Dominica. Show me the statistics on how passport sales have better Dominica. Dominica did not stop the madness and will soon face the heat. Wait and see. This man is a lost cause. 15 years ask yourselves if your lives are Better.
