Since the passage of Tropical Storm Erika on the 27th August, 2015, United Insurance Company Ltd in conjunction with their local agents, CAM Dupigny Inc and JB Charles Company Ltd, have continued to focus on their commitment to clients by assuring them that they are indeed “in safe hands with United”.
Four days after the storm, United Insurance mobilized their team and was on the ground in Dominica, ready to lend assistance to their affected clients. During the course of the first week of recovery the team visited a number of their affected policyholders and, after assessing the damages sustained was able to begin settling within three days of the arrival of their team.
United Insurance presented their first cheque to Ms Patricia Thomas of Copthall whose property was impacted by the raging river waters.
Like many of the disaster stricken Domincans, Ms Thomas was disheartened at the extent of debris that the river next to her property left in its wake, as well as the damage it caused to her property. Ms Thomas well appreciated the quick response her insurer, United Insurance Company Ltd, provided and was most delighted to receive the assistance within such a short space of time.
Within days of settling Mrs. Thomas United was able to come to the assistance of another client, Ms. Yvonne Clark. Ms. Clark was also affecting by the passage of Tropical Storm Erika has been a loyal customer of United Insurance since 1986. Ms. Clark who has never had claim with United before was most impressed with the speed and efficiency of response team during the aftermath of Erika.
