Young entrepreneurs on the island were given the opportunity to showcase their businesses at an exhibition organised by the Dominica Youth Business Trust (DYBT).
The DYBT is an initiative of the Commonwealth Youth Programme and the Government of Dominica, with support from the Organization of American States (OAS) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and provides young people with the wherewithal to establish sustainable businesses.
Various small businesses such as 365 MMP, Hi Tech Link, Zion Art Gallery and Soul Enterprises displayed the products and services that they offer.
Entrepreneurship major, Clivonne Vidal of Hi Tech Link, a small business at the Dominica State College, said that he and the other majors formed their small business to get a feel of what it was like to actually own a business. He said that Hi Tech Link connects students of the College to LIME services, provides mobile phone repairs, tutoring services, and typing and printing services.
Another participant at the exhibition, Ivor Henry of Soul Enterprises and Believers Multiple Purpose Corporates, said “we are adding value to coconut by making coconut oil and in Believers we add value to peppers by making pepper sauce and honey.”
Patrons were given the opportunity to purchase products on display as well as sign up for any services available.
The exhibition took place at Government Headquarters on Thursday.
Below are some photos of the exhibition courtesy 365 Photograhy.

It is nice to see Young people engaging in positive things.I hope their dreams do not die after this exhibition but that they keep thinking up more ways to to see their dreams and aspiration materialize despite challenges they will encounter. I wish all the participants success.
Gary,
Please allow me to join in expressing the same.
It is not often that we share a common view, although I sincerely believe that you do not always believe some of the crazy, partisian thoughts that you express via this medium.
Respectfully
