The Castle Bruce Family and Friends Reunion 2025 will officially be announced at Glu Glu Castle Bruce on Sunday, September 1, under the theme “Se Plas Nou” (“It’s Our Place”). This event marks the beginning of promotions for the highly anticipated week-long gathering, which is expected to attract Castle Bruce natives, their extended families, and friends from various communities across Dominica, the Caribbean, and beyond.
Local Coordinator Jefferson Drigo views this launch as a catalyst for generating interest in the Reunion, which is set to take place from August 10 to 17, 2025. He stated, “This launch will inform everyone about the Reunion and initiate our efforts to spread the word about this significant event in our community.”
The launch will include speeches from the Parliamentary Representative for the Castle Bruce Constituency, Hon. Octavia Alfred, along with representatives from the Ministries of Tourism and Community Development. Guests will also include members of the Castle Bruce Village Council and parliamentary representatives from nearby areas. Cultural performances by the youth of Castle Bruce will be featured, and the event will culminate in the unveiling of the official schedule of activities and the banner for the 2025 Reunion.
The Castle Bruce Family and Friends Reunion 2025 is intended as a follow-up to the original Castle Bruce Reunion held in 2004, which was organized by then-Parliamentary Representative Loreen Bannis Roberts and Jacinta Bannis. A second reunion took place in 2011. The goal for the 2025 event remains consistent: to bring together individuals from Castle Bruce through shared experiences in food, music, culture, and history.
According to organizers, the reunion serves as a way to reconnect the community with those who have been away for some time. It provides an opportunity for their children, spouses, and friends to learn about the village and for everyone to enjoy collective experiences, including cultural, spiritual, and environmental aspects.
During the launch, attendees will also meet the local organizing committee and the Diaspora organizing committee, chaired by Mr. Anthony Drigo. The event will begin at 4:30 PM on Sunday, September 1, in Glu Glu, and is open to the general public.
