Chavez back in Cuba to continue treatment for cancer

Chavez

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has returned to Cuba for a third round of radiation therapy to combat cancer after tearfully praying to God this week to let him live.

President Raul Castro warmly received Chavez on his arrival at Havana’s international airport before dawn on Sunday, the state newspaper Juventud Rebelde said.

The Venezuelan leader, who has twice undergone surgery in Cuba to remove cancerous tumors, flew to Havana after telling his cabinet he was leaving to “continue battling for life.”

All who call on the Lord out of a pure heart He will not turn away. Mr. Chavez has the time now to acknowledge God, and I say, GREAT! better late than never. Some of us may never have that opportunity so let’s all take heed. We are all equal in sickness and death. I pray that God will indeed strengthen Mr Chavez and grant him the grace to go through this battle. May God also grant comfort to his family and other loved ones.

    • April 10, 2012

Death is a punishment for ALL  . We are all sinful but God in his mercy sent his son to die for our sins so that we dont burn in hell forever, Be careul what we say or wish for others. What must be said is that you hope that before he dies he accepts Jesus Christ as Lord of his life.

The Cancer is one of the crosses which God gave to him to carry, is he still asking for more? Chavez should ask God for the strength to carry it (the cross of cancer).
Secondly, Chavez’s ‘prayer’ seems more like a negotiation, Christ already wore His crown of thorns, carried His cross, was crucified, asked forgiveness for his executioners and stretched out his arms and died. There is no resurrection without Calvary! No Crown without Cross!! This is a lesson for all of us.
I pray God in His infinite wisdom to give us a cure for for this scourge called cancer!

I swear Dominicans act like the American Republican Party with such flamboyant responses in the name of god. Cancer can affect anyone not just Chavez. I’m not such why you guys on here almost seemingly saying “karma” to Chavez. Do you guys have all the story or you just go by propaganda. Smh. Who knows if what they are saying is right or wrong but don’t come onDNO to wish bad or tell someone off during their time of suffering. Christians are just the worst!

I wish you well Mr. Chavez, won’t pray cancer on my worst enemy.

You were really one to battle with in the region, you made your mark, good or bad….however, no matter how powerful you are, you still do not have the power to save yourself…..a lesson for each and everyone of us. May we learn to love our neighbors as ourselves, to treat everyone with the fairness and respect they deserve. May we do all in our power to foster greater unity and peace in our communities, country and the world at large.

Most cancers are non curable, but the greatest Physician of all times has come….if you seek a breakthrough from your pain with sincerity and honesty….you never know…….you just never know…..

God loves all his children, and he bids all to come to him….I pray that you’ve answered his call….I can’t judge you, I’m in no position to…..may those that look up to you now learn to look pass you and straight into heaven, for God alone can save.

Well finally he has come to realize who really is in charge. Let this be an example to all those who lead or control or an in authority that they can do what they want, where they want, to whom they want, with whom they want and when they want but when it comes to HOW LONG they want they have absolutely no control over that. It is my Father in Heaven who decides that.
Now you know God chavez, when you were oppressing your people who were crying out to this same god you never heeded their pleas and cries. What! you want more time to do more evil to them? Well only time will tell! May God have mercy on You!

What a load of nonsense. How then do you explain people in poor countries having shorter life expectancy than people in developed countries? Do you think god hates poor Africans and likes rich Americans? How about people who lived 200 years ago who would have been long dead by the time they turned 50? Do you think God did not like them as much as he likes us?

Some of you should think a little more than to attribute everything to god.

Oppressing his people? You do know that Chavez is a populist leader right? That his support base is the poor citizens who prior to his ascent to power ,had been marginalized while foreign US and other 1st world companies were allowed to exploit Venezuela’s natural resources??

Are you aware that the US supported a coup against him and it’s his people who came out in the streets to support him, and his army which refused to betray him, why he was able to survive it?

Are you aware that the US et al hate him because he nationalized many companies so that more revenue could be obtained for social programs like health and education for his countrymen??!!

You know that he is in the middle of an ELECTION battle??!! Contrary to his portrayal as a dictator?? When have u ever heard of a dictator in an election battle???

People like you who repeat US media propaganda against leaders they are unable to buy sicken me to no end…

Lying is too strong a word. Information is withheld sometimes in order not to cause panic in a country when it’s political leader may be battling a life threatening illness. Why are some Dominicans so cynical/crass and lacking in human kindness and empathy? Many seems to have hardened their hearts to human frailities. The man prayed and asked God to heal him, we should all rejoice for his salvation and pray with and for him. Jesus died for us all. Because he is a communist does not mean that he does not believe in God. Communist does not an agnostic make. Hold on a little while longer, some of us are going to be pleasantly surprised by the people we see in heaven.God bless you Mr. Chavez, may God’s will be done in your life. Amen.

Chavez asked God to give him crowns of thorns and 100 crosses and he will carry them but he begged don’t take away his life. I personally believe he is playing on the sympathy of his people to win the next elections. However all I can say to Chavez is be careful what you pray for it might just be granted
