The National Joint Action Movement (NJAM) is very concerned about the increasing deterioration of law and order in the Commonwealth of Dominica and appeals to all Dominicans to come forward to assist in stopping the carnage that is pervading the Nation.
The frightening number of murders, gun violence, child molestation, increasing anger within the population and the unfortunate disappearance of little Kernisha Etienne is sufficient reason for the population to step forward and confront the situation Head on in a united approach.
The Commonwealth of Dominica needs a time for Soul Searching and Reflection to arrest this scourge that is destroying the basic fabric of our society.
In this regard NJAM is calling on the government of Dominica to join forces with the rest of the population to declare the month of August a “Time for Soul Searching and Reflection” to build public awareness against murder, gun violence, child molestation and all other criminal acts.
As we commemorate the 184th anniversary of the abolition of slavery and the 43rd anniversary of Hurricane David during the month of August, NJAM considers it a fitting opportunity to focus on the prevailing ills that are equally destructive to our beloved nation.
NJAM therefore calls on the police service, the churches, private sector, youth organizations, political parties, and the rest of the nation, to join it throughout the month of August with a series of activities to address the prevailing situation.
NJAM encourages respectful engagement with potential perpetrators and victims of crime, to pursue the cause and possible prevention, but, most importantly, to stop the carnage that the Commonwealth of Dominica is experiencing.
On Monday August 1st Emancipation Day, NJAM hosted a virtual discussion to start the month of activities which will culminate on Sunday 28th August with a Solemnity Time for Soul Searching and Reflection Rally at the New Town Savannah.
Let’s unite to save our nation and stop the blood spilling and other social ills.
Dominica deserves better our children deserve a violent Free nation. Joint Action is necessary NOW more than ever.
The blatant in your face threatening utterances made by the recalcitrant Dr Dr PM of Dominica at the last sitting of Parliament, is a clear indication that the rotten deterioration of law and order in the Commonwealth of Dominica starts from the head; but let me sound a word of caution to you Dr, that the history books will show that other leaders who have sought to eliminate other members of society who dare oppose them have had to flee their countries; so be careful what you ask for; remember “karma is a bitch” your words may just come back to hunt you.
The deterioration of law and order in the Commonwealth of Dominica is not a figment of our imagination but a reflection of the maladministration of the affairs of the country by the constant placing of “political square pegs in round holes” and “planting dasheen hoping to harvest fig”; the continued mental enslavement of our people has led to the rise in crime and criminal activities; which continues unabated and will get worse before it gets better mark my words.
I would have thought that NJAM would have put out some clear objectives it has set for the month of activities. This is so broad that it’s difficult to latch unto anything specific that appeals to individuals. Let me suggest a few. First get the police force fixed. There is a need for a police chief from outside of Dominca to overhaul the current corrupt leaderless system which is ineffective in doing what it was put in place to do to protect and serve the citizens. Without someone worthy at the helm of the police force not much will change because we know that Skerritt won’t get rid of his minister of National Security even if he’s ineffective. Everything else is contingent on breathing new life in policing in Dominca. Things like gun but back programs, getting information on those with these illegal guns with a reward program in place after the buy back ends, better training for police in forensic. With the crony system in the force nothing will work properly.
If you have an old bathroom facet that is continuously leaking and flooding the house, what do you do to prevent this from reoccurring? Get rid of it!
The best solution to many of the social and economic ills in Dominica, is to fix the epicenter of the problems – the concoction of rogues, outlaws and dimwits. Throw the captain and his useless, spineless crew overboard the ship of state. A new, inclusive, honest, astute servant leader is urgently needed.
Looking forward to the movement Mr. Vital.
Every little thing is politics with rum drinking black people, I would like anyone of you guys to point out in the world that is crime free, America next door neighbour is the prime
example for crime not one of you house slaves is dear to talk about it why? Because most of you lots are basement sleepers and illegal immigrants that is always looking over your shoulders for ICE. And that same lots that is trying to spread trouble by criticizing out country Dominica best ever Government by a million miles Ha Ha Ha no chance!!
You clearly are happy and satisfied with the status quo. Doesn’t say much about you and your state of mind. You just confirmed what we all knew all along.
What I don’t understand with the UWP supporters is that they lie. They know they lie.People know they are liars, and they continue to lie as if lying is their first meal of the day
@Lie Clown
Lying is a religion to Roosevelt. He lies so often that he believes his own lies. He recently stated with confidence and conviction that Dominica is so safe you can go UT and leave your doors and windows wide open.
This illegal squatter is the most notorious, blatant, consistent LIAR on this mundane sphere.
No greater Liar than your CM and his ministers. Sorry, I forgot YOU…
The Commonwealth of Dominica doesn’t need anymore time for Soul Searching and Reflection. What our country needs is to get rid of this current government and its leader. That’s it! Full stop. The time of talking and reflection and soul searching surely is exhausted. If all you want to change things, I suggest you grow some tennis balls and get on with it. If you can’t do that, I suggest you stop your blabbering and join the CM and forget about our beloved country. Dominica has many talkers but no doers
“The Commonwealth of Dominica needs a time for Soul Searching and Reflection to arrest this scourge that is destroying the basic fabric of our society.”
I hear you Mr. Kent Vital. In order to arrest this scourge, they first need to confront The Scrooge and the cabal of little Scrooges.
Start removing God from homes, schools and life and this is what happens. It’s obvious , but as society grows more into a “me” society and not a “Him” society this is what we get.
All you wanted de salt, now its too salty? Much talk no actions.
A country where a leader can boldly declare to the effect that no law or constitution can keep them down and still get elected over, and over, and over again, risks becoming a serious breeding place for gangsters, perps, and criminals of all kinds. And to the extent that a connected politician can boldly and publicly reference their personal “snipers and navy seals”. Go figure! Magway sar!!
