COVID-19: Dominica’s Health Minister announces a further easing of COVID-19 restrictions

Health Minister, Dr Irving McIntyre delivering a statement on Saturday, May 23, 2020, on Dominica’s COVID-19 status

“As of 25th May, opening hours of business will be Monday to Friday up to 6:00 pm, Saturdays up to 3:00 pm.”

This disclosure came from Minister for Health, Dr Irving McIntyre, as he announced an easing up of restrictions which the Dominica government has put in place to help fight the spread of COVID-19.

“It is recommended that buses allow no more than three persons per row,” the minister continued while delivering an update on COVID-19 on Saturday evening.

He said recommendations have also been made for the reopening of churches, restaurants for sitting-in service and gyms and this could happen as soon as next weekend depending on the outcome of ongoing discussions between stakeholders and the ministry of health to develop guidelines and protocols.

The minister stressed that “all of this is being done with extreme caution to avoid sacrificing our present health status and gains that we have made so far.”

He said that the ministry of health has also been having “extensive discussions with the Ministry of Education as relates to our students, details of which will be made available in subsequent briefings.”

Regarding the opening of borders, Dr McIntyrehe stated that discussions have been continuing regionally but locally, the government has also been developing a national plan.

Some returning Dominicans, including overseas students and cruise ship workers, have been quarantined and according to Dr McIntyre, all remain asymptomatic. He added that, on completion of quarantine, they will be further discharged to home quarantine and monitored by the district health team.

“We urge all of those in quarantine to adhere to the quarantine guidelines and see it as their contribution to the fight against COVID-19 in Dominica,” the health minister stated.

He asked Dominicans to be cognisant of the fact that returning nationals and opening of borders will put Dominica at risk of importing cases and gave the assurance that the ministry of health will take all necessary action to limit that risk as much as possible.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country has remained at sixteen for the last 46 days.

The number of active cases is now at zero.

Take a look at yourself in a mirror; and asks yourself ‘what am I McIntyre doing here’?

Ask yourself ‘is it worth my being here helping Roosevelt to screw up Dominica’ leaving nothing for the youths of the country, and the next generation?

Ask yourself; what shall my legacy be; why am I involve in unscrupulous madness, why am I accepting a monthly pay cheque, while not contributing any to the nation besides indulging in fart; talking fart?

Finally ask yourself ‘why am I involve in the destruction of a nation with so much potential for development; yet I am supporting Roosevelt in transforming Dominica’s economy into the sale of a Dominica passports industry.

Where is my pride; where is my shame; why has my dignity usurp by the most corrupted specimen Roosevelt to ever born in this country?

People like you will have to account to a higher power for the destruction of his country.

For God said to plant vineyards, and build your cities.

Why isnt the Minister of National Security giving this information. The Minister of Health should only speak towards health related matters. Either he or the PM should inform the public. All i want to hear from the Dr. Mcintyre is how many cases we have or dont have. Cautions taken to prevent. and how we are going to move forward with testing and quarantine areas operated by the Ministry of Health. theyre is no collaboration with these people. Thats why CREAD officials left. noone wants to live up to their expectations.

” Dominica’s Health Minister announces a further easing of COVID-19 restrictions”.

But Dominica ever had Covid-19 nou? Boy the only Covid-19 that took place in Dominica in 2019 was the election of December 6, 2019. While the entire world will have a hard time rebounding from the real Covid-19 caused by Coronavirus, Dominica will never rebound from the Covid-19 caused by Roosevelt Skerrit.
Dr. McIntyre said Dominica had 16 cases of the real Covid-19, now zero case and zero death. But compare the damage of the real Covid-19 to the damage caused by the Covid-19 of Roosevelt Skerrit. Let me name some of the casualties and fatalities caused by Roosevelt Skerrit:
1.The departure of Ross University. You know how many that are left without a job and not being able to feed their families as a result? I will not even talk about the amount of apartments that are empty, though Skerrit found away to keep Avis Ville to quarantine people.
    2. The banana industry: over 10k left to beg and…

I will make a slight correction in the text just read by the minister.
“It is recommended that buses allow no more than three persons per row,” the minister continued….”
    This statement above should read:
“It is recommended that buses allow no more than three “PASSENGERS” per row,” the minister continued.”
    It`s PASSENGERS” AND NOT “PERSONS”.
I have noticed that a number of people in high office, broadcasters, teachers, intellectuals, use the word “Persons” unjustifiably. It makes no sense. When one refers to Persons, the reading and listening audience get confused. Persons are not on the bus, Passengers are on the bus.
Thanks for re4aduing and please all be guided accordingly. Be you broadcasters, teachers, Prime Ministers, Government Ministers, Pastors, Priests, and other religious bodies.
hanks for reading. All the best DNO Readers and followers. Too many time I listen to the radio and I am hearing top people using the word “persons loosely rather than saying…

Well thank God for that good news. As I said already COVID-19 was never serious in Dominica or the Caribbean, since China from day one knew the Caribbean was not their target. The only Covid-19 that affected Dominica was the one Skerrit bought on on December 6, 2019 when he stole the election in broad daylight. More people suffered and died in Dominica from the stress and complications of high blood pressure and blood sugar than from Covid-19. So the Chinese told Skerrit to put Dominica on lockdown so it could appear that he is busy keeping Dominica safe from Covid-19 and, as a result it would put him in a better position to hide and defend himself from the empty promises during the campaign. So the strategy worked and Dominica is all but open now but the unemployment and poverty caused by Skerrit will be blamed on Covid-19

I wonder when we Dominicans will open our eyes. All week people socializing but when curfew time come they cant yet there is no spread of the so called virus. even when restrictions were more drastic you would see how much people outside waiting to pay their bills of Digicel, Domlec and Dowasco, yet still no major outbreak. we had 16 cases and people were still socializing up till this day no more cases. 16 people with the virus and yet none of the hundreds of people they came into contact with has shown any signs our and increase in outbreak. I would like to know how we testing in Dominica when the rest of the world say they don’t have an efficient way to test or treat patients. the cold them people have you all coming and talk like is Covid-19. Dominica was able to recover all its sick but when you see their demonic vaccine come out watch us run for it like flies. No COMMON SENSE.
