Did anyone conduct a mental health evaluation on this young man. Unless provoked or drug related issues, this individual may have a mental illness that went unnoticed. We as Dominicans tend to overlook certain behaviors in people and decide to call them “crazy, fool, stupid and he or she has a problem.”

Please, I am not saying that what he did was right. All I am saying is that, was this young man in the right frame of mind when the incident occurred.

Some people never think before they act. They are too quick-tempered and too quick to raise a hand or a weapon on others which cause injury and/or death.
I am always baffled how anyone can injure or murder another. Do they not have a conscience? Do they not think what the end result of their action could do to another and also cost them, a criminal record and also life imprisonment?
If proven guilty, I hope the D/can Law deals with this man appropriately. The Court must seriously take into consideration that murderers deprive their victims of their God-given life and God-given right to live including their personal right to live.
Murderers also disrupt the life of their victims’ families and deprive them of a loved one forever. If the victims are especially sole breadwinners and have children, those who depended on them for their livelihood are financially deprived of this help. This is what they do to their victims and their victims families when they injure and/or take their life.
Therefore, anyone who willfully takes a life should be severely punished by the Court. No excuse and compassion for them.

Beauty you need to read properly. Not just comment. Read again. Actually the picture is of the victim – John Tyson and not 23 year old Donald Massicott. So always reread before you make the wrong comment.

“Alleged.” You used the wrong word. Tyson John was murdered by the alleged murderer.
Tyson is the victim. Therefore, not the alleged or suspected – murderer.

The meaning of alleged is: supposed, suspected; so-called assumed.
Alleged: presumed – asserted but not yet proven to have taken place, have been committed or be as described.

As an example, the Court has to prove that the alleged, Massicott, committed the murder. It looks as if he did commit it. However, the hearing has to take place as the prosecutor and the defense plead their case to prove him guilty or not.

I am again appealing to you again Mr Commissioner to have Corporal Williams back at Wesley before that murder spree hit my village again. We the law abiding citizens have seen many Police officers come and go but that one made all the sacrifices to keep us safe and when I expected to see him promoted he was transferred.

I listen and hear the young boys and they continuously boast no more Jason so they can do whatever they want. This man remained Wesley for about five years with a record of zero murder after a spree of seven unsolved murders.

    • Simply the Truth
      January 22, 2014

This usually occurs when employees are too efficient. The result is they are transferred. But then again how many years are they kept at the police station? The authorities may not want them to be too comfortable in one area. It may be a policy to transfer them after a few years. A transfer could be good for them and could prove fruitful at another police station.

Ur just an idiot.asking for a police to go back westley.can a police officer stop a crime from happening when and where it has too?? U want him to come back westley to drink rum with u lol smh

    • Nature Isle
      January 31, 2014

They may have transferred him because he has done a great job in your community and will probably be able to do the same in another community and that is to keep the crime rate down.

We should not be too complacent.

    • Simply the Truth
      January 22, 2014

What happened to all the evangelists that went to Dominica? Are either one or a few not in Bataca of all to bring the word of God to those young men who especially have gone astray from the truth and the faith?
They must be taught, hopefully prior to committing any crime that it does not pay. Inform them of the repercussion of their actions and how it will adversely affect their lives forever. If they do not want to listen, do not pay heed and amend their ways, then they must bear the consequences.
Also inform them and imbed in them that the eyes of Our Lord Jesus Christ are on every step they take, hearing their every word, seeing their action and that He will mete out his just recompense to them for their evil actions as they deserve.
