The men have been held for questioning.

The body has been identified as that of  Errol Eustace who is allegedly wanted by the police after he broke out of the Castle Bruce police station recently.

99 days for the thief and one day for the guard. As painful as this is for his loved ones, where were you all to help him when he was hurting others? He does not need your loving now, he needed it back then when he was alive. I am sorry that four young men had to tarnish themselves to deal with him. where was the law when the people needing protection?

it is really a sad state of affairs so why don’t we all just stop the bashing and go ensure that we fix ourselves and our homes……… and by extension Dominica. No none man can do this to a country.WE all did this and we will all have to deal with it.

We not only all did this. We are still doing it. We only vote people who believe and act like we do. Any nation who votes in a thief must be in their own hearts worst than he is. I have always said the problem is not the PM; the problem is the people- we hate to work, like easy money, drug dealing and prostitution is nothing for us- who can give us more.. we don’t question things, we don’t care where things come from, our daughters do things for cell phones and money, we all know what’s going on.. we don’t care as a result who do you think we will elect? Our people need to change before our country changes. Changed hearts will see evil and do something to stop it.

Errol had the worst record held by any Dominican in Guadeloupe.I gess the french people set him up nicely.I never wanted to be near him,he was a menace. So every time people like Errol end up in spotlight…they insane? He was not insane, the things he did in Gwada that following him.The man had limiere-potsham.You think after you do so many things to people, your life will be all butter and cheeze? I am not rejoicing over what happened to him..because i knew him personally, but i feared him.I believe after all what he did in Guadeloupe, somebody tormented his life.He was posessed.Sorry for his children.R.I.P. and let God be the judge of every man.

what have my little island Dominica come to. i am a police officer and i do not condone vigilanty justice no matter what the circumstance. this man was a human being with family and listening to Dominicans who are regarded as the most loving people in the caribbean talk about celebrating the death or homicide of this man brings a sick feeling to my stomache. we need to wake up and see that our little island is becoming a crime capital with fifteen murders recorded in one year.

whoever said that this DLP govt is a curse unto D/ca is totally correct. its onlu during their reign that all these crimes have occured, too many evil people are praying to their own god and not to the almighty one. even the leader himself so often quotes the bible,,,from his dead tone u know he is a fake, phony and a fraud. and yes there was no report of an escape prisoner from the police, these young men and their parents should pay harshly for this crime, beating a man to death. if he was a menace to society, why then was he in society? the entire police dept should be held accountable for incidences like this. this is an outrage just to imagine a group of evil minded persons beat my father or hurt him in any way. i hope we’ll see a news conference on this one but again it may not happen to a poor man and his family, i dont care how troublesome he was to the public it was the govt responsibilty to remove him from society in legal forms not by young, uneducated, drug users and no moral men, and shame on most of you who support these acts maybe you have a family, friend etc who is a mence too. nevertheless i hope this will not happen to no one again.

well if the police cant keep the streets clean of criminals, then those criminals should take what they get. I’m surprised that there haven’t been more revenge killings in this country- cuz it seems u kill a man and u’ll easily get free.

People may say dont bring politics and stuff into that but the reason this man is dead is because of the incompetence of the police force… the Minister of national Security should step up and comment on this fiasco. Infact since there has been a record number of murders has the police force or the Minister responsible even attempt to show that they are in control of the situation and steps are being taken to reduce crime? cuz just asking people to pray and behave isn’t enough seriously.

i do not condone the crimes and accusations against Mr Errol Eustache however he Did Not Deserve such a death. to all of you whom are happy that he’s dead.. well we all have rights to our own opinions..that being said i feel free to say that my opinion of your opinion is that it’s a bunch bs. i really don’t understand how you can feel joy at the homicide of another. perhaps the term murder is the issue. i can only assume the term is not taken in high regard with the lot of you. perhaps i need to break it down further for the sake of your souls:

    1. According to more than one witness Errol spent the last night of his life running from a group of young gentlemen. (they could not have been the ones defending themselves if the man was on the run)
    2. You’re told that 4 men are held in custody (from what i hear there were 7 of them, 3 of which have gone MIA, as to the validity of this I’m uncertain however it is a known fact that Errol was outnumbered)
    3. News reports that these men murdered Errol (to all those rejoicing, I’d like to point out that there are absolutely no reports of stabbing or shooting so it can be concluded that Errol was beaten.)
    4. So they murdered him by beating him.(fellow Dominicans stop treating the word murder as if it is as petty as stealing or cursing. understand these 7/4 young men ganged together caught and attacked a man. they did not just give him beating, No, it wasn’t enough for them. they kept at it, hitting until the man was covered in blood and to add insult to injury they continued until the man could no longer breathe.)
i also heard that during this savage beating Errol was tied up, since investigations are still being done we’ll all have to wait to see what really happened but the end result is the same: four young men savagely and mercilessly beat Errol Eustache to death

i may be a fool to think so but i don’t see any reason to rejoice. some of you claim that it was a favor done by these youths and that they should be freed for taking justice into their own hands. but i still don’t understand how the village will be safe when they’ve just replace one “alleged terrorizer” with four murderers. but hey that’s just me

I personally know not only the deceased but the four gentlemen who are being held. And while you feel that they are murderers others may feel like tey are saviors. Who was there to protect that mans childern and their mother from him. Who was there to protect diasbled zoe whom he raped repeatedly and cannot even talk, let alone defend herself. And you say he was running for his life, where do you run when someone is trying to kill you? To the police right? Well he obviously couldn’t do that because he was running from them too. And let’s not forget he esaped from jail where he was being held for bursting his own childs head while he tried to save his 12year old sister from being raped by the deceased who is her father also. It is clear that the authorities did nothing to protect innocent people and when four men decided to try and protect the innocent woman and children you want to act like they just beat down some random person. He was a soilder. That means he was trained by the government to kill. So of course it took several people to get him down. No one was hunting errol down last night. He tried to attack the mother of his children, not for the first time , but it will finally be the last. He didn’t meet a scared woman with no protection. Finally someone did what the law FAILED to do. Let the men involved free. Reward them for capturing a dangerous fugitive without the loss of innocent lives.

Roseann is people like you and Ann for phillian that he had need to come and rape and rape all you children. He was not running for his life he was running away from the police. He had just finshed slash four of one of the guys tires. He had finished vandalized on eof the guys house he had even beat up the other. Where were you and Ann for phillian when to intervene when he was doing those things to people. All you wicked just like him and was rejoicing wen he was doing bad. Now all u acting like all you sad bunch of hypocrites. Ann for phillian god wouldn’t grant that person double because of what they said. You think that eroll will see GOD. I don’t think it have a God in hell. You roseann and Ann fo rphillian need to ask god for forgiveness for not stepping in and help eroll stop doing those wickedness to people. The village will be safe Roseann he is not an alleged terrorizer he was one he did all those things and you know it it is very sad to see people like you defend him now he dead where were all u then. The four murders did the community a favor. They did not go around rapping children or burning people house. The were not violent young men and did not terrorize a community. They did us a favor. Now you and Ann for phillian can sen dyour daughters to petite soufrier and reast easy because they wont be raped. That was one of the best thought of and well put together comments I’ve seen on DNO since. I for one truely appreciate the very valid points that you have made and though I believe in karma, I do not believe, from what I have read in DNO’s report, that what took place was justice.
It has been said that if you take a lion out of the wild young enough, feed it cooked foods and get it used to being around people then it will be tamed, but at it’s first taste of raw blood it will remember the wild. Well, when you give these young men their first taste of blood, and for the people who chant to let them go, I hope you all get prepared when they start to run wild.
We are supposed to be living in a civil society. This is not the way of civilized people. We have appointed authorities and we have agreed to reasonable laws. We can’t just turn away from them at a moment’s notice.
I await to see the price of bail to be given for what I have come to understand was a very gruesome homicide.
According to Rose, we take the word murder too lightly now a days.

God, please poor a shower of blessing on Dominica and your people in it so we may see 2011 to be a big change for the better, especially with the way we deal with conflicts.

We had one bad man on the street, now we have 7 or 4 murderers on our hand. So to those rejoicing think about that. Errol never killed anyone, but now there’s murderers in our midst. If they did that to Errol they can do the same to the idiots rejoicing.

Though there’s some truth to what you’re saying but the government can’t be responsible when four young men decide to go out and beat someone to death. The authorities responsible do have to hold some responsibility. They laws in this country is too lax. Those responsible should address some of the lawlessness thats going on and don’t pretend they’re not away of it. But for individuals on a whole you’re responsible for your own actions. We can’t sound like some of the African-Americans who blame the system for everything.

While not directly responsible for the actions of the people, the mood of the country does affect the tone of the people and that is related to the management of the country, hence , the government. Frustration can be a destructive emotion of a very powerful tool. It all depends on the reason and purpose for the frustration.

For example, from the tone of you comment, I could deduce that you are somewhat upset about the comments blaming the government for the level of crime in the country. If somewhere around the time that you were having those thoughts someone had approached you and had a discussion with you about it, but were of the opposing opinion to yours then that discussion could have turned to an argument. If the argument got heated one of you could get so angry that it could become physical. The next thing you know one of you could be injured or dead. However, if you had nothing to be frustrated about then there would have been no argument and you’d probably have work to do or prepare for so as to occupy your time and not allowing you to join the ranks of DNO statistics.

      Just stating a possible scenario.

we are not interested in what other governments do. back in the days of the uwp every thing that went wrong was blamed on the uwp. every murder that took place or suicide was blamed on poor government policy and ppl like you was jumping on that band wagon. the tables have turned and the shoes are now on the labor party foot so they are to be blamed for not putting policies in place that will make those little vagrants out there running around like they’re in some old western movies.

why blame skerrit and his government you ask? well don’t they take the credit for every good thing that happens? like the labour supporters like to say a vissionary leader. so if he and his government takes the credit when good things happen then they sure as hell have to be credited when the bad happens.

      ask yourself this questions

      1) what have this labour administration done to tackle crime in this country?
      2) why is there favouritism when it comes to administering justice in this country?

you know what amazes me the most? The double standard that is shown by labour party beloved ARAB lawyer. he defends this labour party governement from corruption that is so glearing that a new born baby can see it yet hes in the region prosecuting other government he don’t support for the same thing. he was in st kitts in court to prevent the opposition party leader and another of his candidate from contesting elections there because they held dual citizenship but hes here defending skerrit on having dual citizenship.

YOUR ANSWER:more policemen and vehicles on the road for the police and better accomodation and training to name a few, BUT I guess with ignorant fools like yourself and other blue troublemakers on the radio, internet and within our communities preaching hatred and mischief the crime rate must continue to surge!!!

I STAYED IN AMERICA TOO FOR TWO YEARS AND I USED TO BRAG ABOUT MY COUNTRY TO THE AMERICANS AND OTHER NATIONALS. I WAS SO EAGER TO COME HOME.

WHEN I CAME HOME I WAS SHOCKED AT WHAT THE COUNTRY HAD BECOME. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED IN MY PEOPLE. WE HAD A TREASURE. WE HAD A PARADISE. HAS ANYONE BEEN TO ROSEAU LATELY? LOOK AT THE FACES OF THE PEOPLE, THE YOUNG BOYS, THE YOUNG GIRLS, THE GROWN MEN AND WOMEN WHO WANT TO FIT IN BY NOT BEING THENSELVES. LOOK AT THE FACES. THEY LOOK LIKE THEY ARE LED BY SOME INVISIBLE HAND, SOME INVISIBLE FORCE, LIKE THEY ARE TUGGED ALONG BY SOMEBODY ELSE’S EVIL SCHEME, LIKE THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THEM. I CAN SEE IT. I CAN FEEL IT, AND IT MAKES ME SAD FOR MY BELOVED PEOPLE, WHO ARE BEING LED TO THE SLAUGHTER…UNAWARES.
WE WERE POOR BUT WE WERE HAPPY BUT THEN. BUT NOW THOSE WHO HATE US ARE CONSPIRING TO TAKE THE VERY HEART OF OUR COUNTRY AWAY FROM US. THEIR EVIL SCHEME HAS WORKED. THEY HAVE BAITED US INTO THEIR TRAP WITH GIFTS OF ALL SORTS. NOW THAT WE ARE TRAPPED AND BUSY EATING THE CRUMBS SET OUT FOR US, THEY ARE STEALING OUR EGGS LIKE THE POACHER, LIKE THE HUNTER, LIKE THE THIEF. THEY STEAL OUR EGGS. THEY STEAL OUR FUTURE. I FEEL SO SORRY FOR MY PEOPLE. GOD HAS REWARDED OUR ENCESTORS FOR THEIR ENDURANCE AND STEWARDSHIP WHICH A BEAUTIFUL CULTURED PEOPLE IN A BEAUTIFUL CULTURED LAND, BUT LIKE THE PEOPLE OF ISREAL, THEY DESCENDANTS FORGOT AND FORSAKED AND SO THE LAND WAS TAKEN FROM THEM BY WICKED FORCES. NOW WE HAVE BECOME ANIMALS. IT IS PALIN TO SEE.

THERE IS DECEIT AND EVIL EVERYWHERE. THERE ARE FEW CHRISTIANS LEFT IN DOMINICA. WE HAVE LOST OUR CHRISTIAN THINKING AND MORALITY. WE HAVE EXCHANGED IT FOR MATERIAL WEALTH, DANCEHALL AND TATTOOS.
WE HAVE BECOME LOVERS OF PERSONALITIES RATHER THAN TRUTH. WE ARE GOING DOWN (NOT QUITE SLOWLY ANYMORE – SORRY SPIDER). THE WHOLE COUNTRY HAS BECOME CURROPTED AND FORIEGNERS ARE TAKING OVER. WE HAVE LOST THAT WHICH MADE US A CULTURE. WE HAVE LOST THAT WHICH MADE US THE ENVY OF THE REST. WE ENDORSE CURROPTION AND EVIL AND EXPECT NOT TO FEEL THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS. THE PEOPLE NOW CALL WHAT IS BAD GOOD AND WHAT IS GOOD BAD. IF I DID NOT BELIEVE THE BIBLE THEN I BELIEVE NOW FOR I LIVE IN A SPAN THAT ALLOWED ME TO ACTUALLY SEE THE TRANSITION AND TRANSFORMATION OF MY PEOPLE. THE PEOPLE KNOW WHAT MUST BE DONE, BUT THE EVIL IS ALREADY TOO DEEP.

People police don’t keep people in jail. It is done by a judge. All jail did for Errol is got him angry and wantto kill. Do you all remember a few years ago how he triedto kill wilford with stones the same way? they should have tied him up and let his childrens mother stone him to death this morning. The guy reaped so many all people, his own step children, and what about his own “mother’ ! he was an animal and he died like one. well I gtess he was a wanted man so everyone would have felt good if the police had shot him…. if you have ever been to petite soufriere you would know that it is not the easiest place to find someone who is on the run from the police, or it can be if people don’t hide you. in his own words he said, ‘MY TIME HAS COME, I HAVE TO DO WHAT I HAVE TO DO AND KILL MY SELF” Dp ypu know how it feels when someone tells you that they will kill you? do u know how it feels to be raped time and time again with stitches just after giving birth? do u know what it feel like to be an old woman and get raped by a strong son of a b…..ch? All dog has its day. Today was his.

remember the tonge is a two edge sword. The biggest killer walking and talking. As I read on,you see and feel the pain in some but some will not understand what it is to love one another as I love you.If we never practice turning the other cheek, how can we be able to make peace. We have to start embracing the good and the bad equally,in order to bring pease in our land lets try this method. This is what bring hatred in the lives of our young people, regection.love them all equally as god wants us too,be there for our children parents even when they do wrong, correcting them in love that is a medicine by itself,it melts there heart and they will do better.Parents lets train ourself to say good things to our children .Lets stop puting curses on them.I have 5 kids. They all put me to the test,I cried,I pray and the lord never gave me too much that I could not handle.I
never give up in praying.Pray for others too.Love starts in our homes remember that.

I used to boast to my friends in America that while all islands have their problems, Dominica isn’t like that. Told them that while I have my American passport, I will always keep my Dominican passport because I will need it to “run back home”. I used to boast and say “google us, you will see for yourself, crime rate next to nothing, stable economy, etc., etc.” Now I am SCARED and ASHAMED to say that. Everytime I come to DNO is nothing but bad news: murders, stabbings, shootings, political corruption. Alas, alas…what have we come to? Have we sould our contry to the Devil? Where did we go wrong? When will this madness end? It is really time for Dominicans to stand up and demand a stop to this. Our country is too small for things like this to be happening, day after day, after day. There is blood on the streets of every village and as I see it, on the hands of the government who sit idly by, dedicating time and resources to other things while Dominicans kill themselves.

I don’t have the answer but there has to be a way to put an end to this. 2011 is coming and if 2010 is any indication of what is to come I am more than scared. Dominicans stand up and take back Dominica.

Exactly – we were backward but our soil wasn’t overflowing with blood. Dominica has changed DRASTICALLY for the worst in the past 7-10 years. I am NOT saying that progress hasn’t been made, but the progression of the bad, far outweighs the progression of the good. Dominica now isn’t the Dominica that we grew up in and it is scary to think that people can’t see that.

Everything you said and more. I come home every year, twice a year because my grandfather refuses to migrate here. Each time I go home it is the same or worse. Those who had the big houses before have bigger houses now, and those who never had, still don’t have. There is NO distribution of wealth. All the young men are “gangstas” and the ignorant young women think it is kool to be dating the “bad man”. Dominica is being sold and is deteriorating right under our noses but no one seems to care.

All I can say to those who hit the “dislike” button on my first comment – it is mentalities like you that keep the country in the mud, because mentalities like you can’t grasp the seriousness of the state our country is in. God Richest Blessings to you all

Dear Heartless, always Concerned and Wendy:

Where was his humanity when he was rapping people, burning peoples house, beating up people, threathening the lives of his own children and children mother, putting poison in water so the whole village including his children could die. Where was his humanity then. Is he only human after he died because the police couldnt do their job a keep him in jail. So he was in defenforce Wendy thats all you can come up with and his mother was a nurse who may have cut people navel string. His mother was doing her job that she choose to do no one has to thank her for that. Perhaps if she had set her son right insead of accepting his horrible behavior things might have ended differently. What about all the people he has victimized go to that village and see if you can find one person who will say one good thing about this man. Should they have waited for him to had kill his children mother and children who were in hiding when they heard he was out because he said he was going to kill them. Trust me Wendy his children are sleeping better tonite. You also talk about GOD Wendy and in a better place. The place that man going there won’t be no GOD there because God dont like evil and that man was pure evil. You must be one of the people who were sending him to terrorize people. Sasha he is your father regardless and I feel for you because you are in pain. But I feel no sympathy for him. You haven’t been in petite soufrier for years now but i’m sure you have heard about what your father is and the things he did. If these men didn’t do what they did he would have killed someone. No he didn’t kill anyone that we know of yet, but not for the lack of trying. He was threathening to kill people. Do you think he broke out of jail cause he wanted to spend christmas with the family he victimized. I dont know the whole story but these men may have been defending themselves and yes it took four men to bring him down cause that is how terrible he was. Petite Soufriere is a better place without him… and no I’m not heartless no do I think it is ok to take anyones life. But it is not ok for someone to do whatever he wants to people and get aay with it for years. Justice has finally been served….

He failed himself and people like you and his family that was encouraging his behavior failed him hypocrite. After all that I have done do you know me personally. I can tell you that I never killed anyone, robbed, burn people house, rape their children or mothers and try to poison people. Do unto others Wendy. It is laughable that you try to defend this man now and try to blame others for not stopping him when you could have done the same. Well he is stopped now isnt he….Go and forgive yourself for being so silly and defending a man you know did not deserve defending.

Yes i haven’t been there for years but you that have been living there why when he was in court none of you he so called terrorized never stood up in court and said yes he did those things so they could lock him up for good? or righttttt you all was to scared. You all are the ones who gave him that power by fearing him. Like i said i don’t agree with none of the things he did but justice was not there’s to pass. i hope you can sleep better at night knowing that it have four muderers walking around in petite soufriere. Today its my father tomorrow it will be someone else. You are a real cowade, stop hiding behind a computer and put your real name so everyone can know who you are, at least am not afarid to do that. Everyone in life have a choice and a path to follow my father choose his and one day he will answer to it.

Narrow minded people like you have a brain the size of a grain on sand. You all sit on the sidelines and complain all day and night amongst yourselves but do nothing.

Wrong is wrong and right is right, and what they did was wrong to tie someone and beat them to death. they could have called the police but they choose not too. I don’t care what you say they have someones blood on there hands and one day like my father they will answer to a higher power.

Did your family or yourself ever seek psychological help for your father? It sounds like he was a troubled man seeking help which was manifested by his behaviour.

I am sorry for your loss…he has a place in your life that no one else can fill. But how we all are perceived by ourselves and how others perceive us are always different.

I cannot agree with this type of Justice, but it is always what a society resorts to when the supporting systems are buckling. I wish you strength during your grief.

When leaders have no regards for our laws and our constitution. When the police is under equipped and underpaid, when citizens don’t feel empowered and their complaints fall on death ears, when money greed and disrespect replaces humility respect and love, the inevitable is anarchy, lawlessness and STREET JUSTICE.

I cannot believe the authorities let it come to this. Yes this man was someone’s father. And to that person who wrote the comment, my condolences go out. However the deceased was a fugitive who was put in jail for the assault of his own son who was trying to save his sister from being raped by her father who also happens to be the deceased. This just weeks after being let out from a stabbing assault on the mother of his youngest children. Not to mention the burning of people’s homes, alleged rapes, poisoning the water and the list actually goes on! So why was this man allowed to walk freely among innocent people? He has a long criminal history associated with violence. He set a bed on fire with a sleeping baby on it, for goodness sake! Why were people left in fear of their lives? Petite Soufriere is not a place where people are found dead every day. And with his history of terrible acts there may have been other bodies if someone had not defended themselves. And I say that with confidence because no one goes after him. He’s always the aggressor. Oh and being in the military does not exempt someone from being a law abiding citizen.

I agree – Dominica will need a mature policy to deal with extreme criminal Recidivism!

Coming up with community policies to handle these types of problems are part of any countries growing pains – But a policy & instrumentation must be in place to deal with mental health and criminal recidivism! This type of problem is not going to go away. Too many times I am hearing about too many village criminal recidivists – All too often with the words, “the man is well known as being troublesome”! And with this I too feel the collective village frustration! In some cases it an extreme detriment to tourism, business and the livelihood of Dominicans.

Often time’s organic brain troubles coupled with bad environmental exposure as a child lead to adults with a dangerous predatory nature. Predators ALWAYS escalate the violence & proliferation of their crimes over time! Thus, there must be a mechanism in place to recognize and swiftly & efficiently deal with these people before the city has to bring out the body bags!

Dealing with the eventualities of criminal recidivism is a tough but necessary aspect of each and every culture – That is part of the human condition….

If I had to guess, a member of the community felt that they had to finally take matters into his or her own hands regarding this alleged predator – As the “society” was failing to deal with his recidivism very efficiently!

Dominica must recognize and embrace these troubles as a civilized society – Then evaluate the various methods that other societies utilize to handle these troubles.

Ultimately Dominica will need to draft its own methodology to solve these troubles; and then Dominica must set up the adequate assets to follow through in doing so.

Again – this is part of growing. And dealing with it is a mature & necessary response to the “human condition”! Dominica is strong enough, and smart enough, to improvise, adapt and over come these troubles!

personally i think if he was such a menace to society as people are so ready to accuse, he would have been held in Stockfarm prison where there’s a higher security worthy of such accusations rather than in some cell in Castle Bruce where the police are obviously ill-equipped to handle a man of his “sins”. so my only disagreement with your opinion is that this should be handled by perhaps the Roseau police force because i for one I’m rather doubtful of the abilities Castle Bruce policemen

u know it is never right when any life is taken. I do not condone this. But this wasn’t some innocent man who four men just beat to death for no reason. I personally know this man and yes the village was terrorized, raped, stealed, beat, abused his family and his disabled daughter and he did try to murder people. This man is supposed to be in jail. But somehow it doesnt matter what he did he kept getting out. he threatened to kill people and yes he would have made good on that promise if gotten the chance to do so. I guess maybe they should have let him kill his children mother and the rest of the children first right… Then everyone would not be so self righteous. You all acting like all u do know those police. How did he get away from police custody in the first place. Obiously the police can’t do their job. I feel sorry for the four guys who may have been defending themselves against this mad man. And yes the most immediate members of his family who couldn’t sleep in peace because of this man and who lived in fear and hd to hide when they heard he escaped, wil definitely be sleeping better tonite. Just saying… I am not one to judge no one know how far they will go when pushed to the limit.

I happen to know this man personally, and know his kids. His kids are my cousins, and when i got a call this morning about this and i called my cousin, I’ve never heard this so distraught. I grew up in Petite Soufriere and have know him since i was a kid. Everybody who knew him, knew he was a troublemaker, its not a secrete, but he didn’t deserve to be murdered. Now my cousins have lost their father. So to those we find it so easy to say some of these disgusting things just remember none of us are immune to situations like these. I understand if they did beat him up but not to the point of taking his life. Now his blood is on the hand of four people. R.I.P Errol.

of what use is a father who abuses/terrorizes his children and fails to provide their basic needs? Would you like your father to hunt you and would you like to be running from your father? Would you like to live in fear and in hiding all your life? would you like to miss school most of the time? would you like a cutlass aimed at your neck all the time? would you like your house to be stoned constantly? If your answer to these questions is yes then you are either dead/crazy. however if your answer is no then think before you write. when it hits home you will be singing a different song qstorm 78.

many people will sleep soundly tonight. This is for the many aged women he raped for his children and step children he abused physically and sexually, the houses he burned, for attempting to murder the mother of his children, for escaping from prison, and the many atrocities he committed against society. May petite soufriere remain the peaceful community it has always been known to be in Jesus name. as far as i am concerned these men should be released because they were protecting their family members against this terrorist. why should children be deprived of an education because their father is constantly harassing them, why should these said children have to go in hiding for months, missing school , spending sleepless night any and everywhere. no one should be subject to that kind of life. every human being deserves peace and even more so our children. I love the african system. local communities take care of their own problems. the police commissioner has been calling on communities to assist the police , well i am opined that this is helping the police maintain peace in society. mark you i am against crime and violence but when people defend themselves and family from evil men i have no problem with that.

I feel so bad for my country and sometimes I seat and wonder what the cause of all these murders is really about. I am not interested in the ‘Next Level’ talk but I need us (Dominicans) to think and think really hard too.
We as Christians go to church and when the pastor tell us something we want to mention about his family; “or he cannot control his home and he want to come and control us”, and we all know that the Bible clearly state that if the head of the church is bad everything will go wrong. That church will always have discord, backbiting, gossiping and you name it and we get vex with the pastor because he cannot make change.
Now let us look at our country and what is happening, things are bad and we all have to face it, no matter what color you support, THINGS ARE BAD. We need to take back Dominica and do so fast because tomorrow it will be your family or friend you will have to defend.
Just today Inspector Weekes was talking about public assisting police in solving crimes in our country. We need to ask ourselves can we trust the Police. We call the talk shows and say all kinds of things about making a change, but when the time comes we seat and watch who going and who not going to support and pull ourselves away. How do you expect change with that sort of attitude?
I am praying everyday for my country and as I always say to people, ‘God do not like Ugly’ and when the time comes for him to strike, all of us will feel the blow. Our dear Prime Minister likes to repeat the phase. “Let not your heart be troubled”, he better watch out because if the allegations and things people are saying come to be true, all of us no matter the color will need to lift him up in Prayer.
So Dominicans hold strong and my prayer is that 2011 will be a time for real CHANGE and those that just seat and talk will come together and do something.

TREVOR JOHNSON bro you have alot of haters and it seem like you are a wanted man. The last time I saw you in d/ca you seem to be moving around freely. As a former coworker I’d advice you to be careful. Dominica has become lawless; people are being attacked for voicing their opinion, people are kiling for revenge and burning people’s property as political lynching.

Becareful Trevor we are experiencing Klu Klax Klan type operation in Dominica.

How dumb does that sound for one man to put so much fear in a whole village.Don’t matter what he did no one deserve to be beaten to death, And it took four fools to bring down one man, i hope there asses rot in jail. Am not condoning what he did was right but justice was not theres to pass.

The problem is people are not fearful of the law anymore. We have an ineffective law enforcement system. One that is tainted by corruption, partiality in seeking justice and one that is politically and remotely controlled.
When justice does not seem to be balance the people take the law into their hands. If the people dont trust the police lawlessness becomes the norm.I recall that 20 years ago a group of us made a few citizens arrest. We apprehended a couple of local thieves who bugglarized our community, we did not beat or killed them we took them to the police and issued a warning to both the police and the perp. Our effort turned out to be effective.

This is a very sad situation. Violent crime is obviously on the rise. In addition to the record breaking number of murders, a recent report indicated that sexual assault on children has increases significantly over the past few years. I am sure the same is true for other violent crimes like robbery, kidnapping etc. This may or may not be related to politics. The government influences the justice system to include the police and the courts, and those bodies are vital players in the efforts to reducing/ discourage crime.

The part that is sad and very concerning is how little is said here and elsewhere about getting to the real reasons for the increase in violent crimes. How about reducing the crime rate? Is that a thought? How do you do that? Are we going to continue to rejoice when someone perishes? Unbelievable.

Here is one important piece of info: Countries like Trinidad, Haiti, the US, even Afghanistan have millions of people. When one die, two, three even five are born to replace the one who dies. Dominica has 67 o 69 thousand. How many people are born to replace the dead ones? Howe many come back home to replace the ones that are leaving because of their concerns with violence? How many are replacing the ones who die from AIDS; how about the ones who die from cancer and other diseases? How are they been replaced?

Another note: In 1980, the population was about 80 thousand. Although we had Haitians, people from the Dominican Republic and Chinese move in to DA, population still went down by about 10 thousand over a thirty year period. Is anyone looking at the statistics? If people keep dying and we keep rejoicing when that happens, then soon, DA will change in ways that you won’t believe. The land will be there, and there will be people, maybe more than 100 thousand. But it will not be the “Dominicans” that we all keep talking about and some may not like it.

There is one piece of information I would like and don’t have. Can anyone help? Does any one have statistics on the ethnicity of people who die in DA? For example, how many Chinese, How many Haitians, how many people from the Carib reserve, etc?

    HELP!!! HELP!!!HELP!!! Stop the Violence.

      December 29, 2010

Yes well said. I know for a fact that sometimes one person speaking to this individual could have done a lot. I had the opportunity to talk to a young man who allegedly hurt someone and whenI spoke to him and cautioned him about what is happenning around us and how he should conduct himself. He commented to me that my dad spoke to me the same way that you are spesking to me today. I retorted to him then this is confirmation that your dad did not want you to be in this present preedicament tht you are in but alas we cannot undo what has been done. My comment to him is you have already made a mistake but ther is one who can forgive you as he is aware of your shortcomings. the big question is are youready to accept that you have made a mistake and to do something new in your life withthe help of the one who saves. Persons we need to be more supportive of those persons and with the help of the Heavenly Father we can make miracles for his glory and honour. Who ever say what extent we can help one to change their wicked ways and show them the way to salvation. They may not listen to their family but who says what change you do in someones life. So instead of saying how wicked and bad someone is, say something to them to bring them closer to our Most High. We speak to them on a daily basis but we say the wrong things to them.

Yes most times we fail our fellow countrymen and we only say disparaging words when some are calling on us to help them. We sometimes think that because we have a little something and a house /car that we are better than those on the roadside. They are someones child /Father / cousin you name it. It is only when it hits home then our eyes are openned. Let us come together – Families of the unfortunate on the wayside, Let our New year resolution be to see how many we can take away from the roadside and recieve the “prodigal sons”. Stand to your responsibilities – we may have turned our backs on them. Yes most have diappointed us but with our eyes on the King of Glory we can do wonders for his glory and honour in Jesus name. Do not think you are more than them. They are your sons, daughters cousins etc.. Let us work together with them. It will not happen overnight but shouln’t we be patient as he has been patient with us?

And your point is what, Mr. Johnson? Make it plain; say what you think is the problem; more importantly, give suggestions on how to fix things.

We propose a Crime Awareness Summit comprising relevant government entities and functionaries (e.g., National Security, the judiciary, education, the DAIC, bureau of women’s affairs, the penal system, the media, local municipalities, youth councils, etcetera) to look at the following:

      1. Material content aired via radio and TV influencing our youth

      2. A new state prison with renewed focus on rehabilitation

      3. Revision of school curriculum to include mediation of conflicts

      4. Such revamping should also seek to implement job shadowing/mentoring for our young people

      5. Reenergize and synchronize the efforts and systems the various youth programs in DA

      6. Laser-beam focus on job-creation targeted at the youths

      7. Relevance and relativity of the Law Codes in today’s society

      8. Anthropological, sociological analysis of criminal activity

      9. Such a summit (MOST OF IT) should engage participants in evaluating crime statistics and case studies, utilizing a workshop model

      10. Gaining government COMMITMENT in provide resources necessary to implement a comprehensive national crime fighting scheme (it need not be called this, though plans and processes emanating there from is designed to fight crime and enhance DA’s prosperity)

This is by no means an exhaustive list. Nor should the summit address the problem of criminal activity in the above sequence.

It would be a reasonable start.

Good move. Have you contacted the authorities about this crime plan to gain their COMMITMENT?

Are we hearing anything from the Minister of National Security or even his boss, Roosevelt Skerrit, about the increased crime rate in Dominica? I am not a fan of Blackmore but he was certainly a much better Minister of National Security than the Boycott Minister.

I was one of the few Dominicans who supported Severin when he warned Dominicans about the increased crime problem in Dominica. Everyone cursed the man and Minister Bannis-Roberts dissed him publicly. Today, we are experiencing what he predicted two years ago.

      December 29, 2010

Be careful … The reading I heard today was about a rebellious people – Israel and it ticked me to think that we in Dominica are becoming a rebellious people. People open your eyes and walk in obedience to the Lord’s calling so we will not suffer the fate of a rebellious people. If my people will turn from their wicked ways … I will pour a blessing upon the land. People it is not religious but every reader and Dominicans need to do an instudy of themselves and to see if they are walking in obedience as our Father wants us to be. The question I pose here is not what the other is doing but what am I doing (what wicked ways do I have and need to change) so I do not contibute to the malaise of the land. Each and everyone needs to look at theirselves and turn from their wicked ways without looking at what the other one is doing but ensuring that I am in the right stand with my Father. It first start with and then by your action, you will win souls for the glory of the Father – mark you not yours. All Glory and Honour belongs to him. We are only vessels if and when we make ourselves available. Resolution for 2011

I guess someone felt like acting a police and doing their job. We don’t know what happened..maybe he attacked someone believing that he would be reported and the person used self defense(but why run away?). Or maybe it was a vengeance scenario. The report states that he is known for being a troublesome man.Hopefully this case will be thoroughly investigated and brought to closure.Lives are not valued anymore.Sigh.Guess i’ll have to make an island for myself..

          December 29, 2010

Trevor you need to stop using politics in all you say and turn from your wicked ways. Do not look at other persons .. if you you will never repent … Look inwardly and ask yourself are you in right standing with the Father. Does the Father support one who calls doom and gloom on his country and is always looking to blame someone else. We are asked to live in peace with everyone and to pray fo rour Leaders – All All . Your new resolution for 2011.. turn and repent .. and let us get something positive from you. Learn the ways of the Great Master and you have so much to gain and nothing to lose and you will comment yes you will but you will be more positive. Who knows you may be destined to be in public life but you need a good course before you go there. I do not know whathis destiny is for you. He knows that even before you were were concieved in your mother womb. Now is the time to get in right standing with him so you can develop a relationship and he will let you know what your calling is.

God’s richest blessings to you and your family.

So everything that happens in the country is the prime minister or the labour party who did it? You need to get a life for crying out loud. The man was a known criminal. There could be a number of circumstances surrounding his death. So blasted long elections over. This is still a democratic country and the people have spoken so get down on your knees and pray for peace and prosperity for our nation. Stop bitching and griping about everything that goes wrong. Everywhere in the world has crime.

i see you all are vexed because it is Trevor Johnson who said it, therefore, it must be poitical. But really if you think about it the 3 words have nothing to do at all with politics. Maybe i shouldn’t say nothing at all. The point is, with development comes the enviable and not so enviable accompaniments. Increase in violent crimes is obviously going to be one of the not so enviable accompaniments. It’s time for parents now to set the “politics” of their homes now and reclaim their children. Raise them in the right way. Stop babying toddlers and saying that they are innocent. They are not. They can understand even more than you that made them. Send the young ones to a place of worship. For crying out loud, don’t just send them, go with them. Stop talking “grown” people talk in front of the children. When i was growing up whenever another grown up came to the house we had to take a hike, go find a book to read. find something to do out of earshot of the converstaion. These days grown up having all sorts of converstations infront of children. What do we expect. The children don’t know that they are children. Instill in children, pride, self love, caring for others, respect, dignity etc.
Bon dieu Dominica, is true some of the parents with children should’t have them. But some know better and their children worse than those who don’t know any better.
So while paritsan politics is only a fraction of the problem, other politics factor in as well.
Don’t blame trevors choice of words.
