Dominica News Online can confirm that a man was killed at Fete La Pwent in Pointe Michel early Saturday morning.

The man, according to reports, worked at Dominica Brewery and Beverages Ltd.

The incident took place around 4:00 am and according to reports, the man was stabbed and his throat slit during the incident. However, this has not been confirmed by the police.

At the time of publication, the police were still on the scene.

DNO had originally reported that a halt was placed on Fete La Pwent, however, reports are that the event is still on, although the police had initially stopped it.

The event is for three nights.

Please tell me I am seeing wrong. Are they carrying that boy by his legs and arms? How many times have we gone through this? The police tells citizens do not touch victims lest they cause more damage. Leave it to trained personnel. Are the people in the picture trained? If the victim did not have to die, he would surely die now!! Come on man. We need to do much better than this. In light of the fact that at 90% of out activities there is some kind of violence, would the authorities consider having an ambulance and police presence at these locations? Just a thought…

you are so right. there should be an ambulance at every huge event llike this. Dominica should be more advanced than that. What with all this killing and violence? we were just promoting Dominica a few days ago and this is what we get?

just making a bad situation worst. Again as many of the issues that we ‘re faced with today GOD said that’s what going to happen as the age closes.HE mentioned as it was in the days of Noah and HE said some of what they were doing. Feasting, giving into marriages, in other words doing their own thing not paying attention to GOD. What was the event that brought the whole thing about. Fete-la-pwent..Fete/party/ that’s the word feast. So continue feasting..we can’t have our cake and eat it all people. It’s either GOD’S way and it will be well with our souls or our way and be damned…

Even so, God expects that we will be shocked at what occurred to a fellow man as we pray for the repose of his soul and strength for his family to cope with their grief. If we were not, it would appear our hearts lack love and compassion. Those who project these godly virtues at especially such a time possess it. We cannot remain cold because it is not within us.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..Hos. 4:6..When I read some of you comments I just say a short pray: Forgive them LORD for they know not what they’re saying.Especially when you’ll drag GOD into the picture. THE CURE: whomever that person, is suggesting paying a Haitian to work obeah to solve the problem.Well you need to go to the old Testament and see what JEHOVAH says about that. And whilst you will not see the words obeah or voo doo ,JEHOVAH calls it consulting familiar spirits, it’s an abomination unto the LORD. It’s a very serious sin before the LORD,and don’t get me wrong where GOD is concern sin is sin across the board but where you see the word abomination, take note. Whether sin is committed ignorantly or willfully it’s as a kit,the sinner gets all that goes along with that sin. And so, even GOD would forgive that sin, what goes along with that sin the person or persons have to face the consequences of that sin. And so, to recommend obeah or voo doo that’s…

Why did the officers stand and look on like spectators instead of immediately secure a vehicle on scene and take the young man to the hospital. No ambulance or police van had to be waited on and placed in the back like an animal. Those officers on the scene should b immediately fire or Place on administrative leave pending an investigation :-P Very sad the young man bleed to death

Always a $srew-up in the group! Always!

This is a pattern: Whenever Dominica celebrates an event; there’s someone looking to eliminate an enemy. That’s why I stay away from these celebrations! I am too grown to be partying with amateurs who can’t celebrate a moment that is supposed to remind us of history and how we’ve persevered.

This is just sad and unnecessary!

Sadly, no amount of \”alasss or papa bandieu\” is going to bring the young man back or have the killer\’s action reversed. Dominica seems to be going through a crisis or spell these days and it is very troubling. Missing people, fatal accidents, murders and child molestation with no end in sight. The BIG question is why!

There is too much anger, unemployment, deceit, voo-doo, and overall hypocrisy in the country. Even men of the collar and cloth are turning blind eyes. When are we going to realize that the man above is a very jealous man and hates evil. Everyday we hear of the \”alleged\” corruption and nastiness being undertaken by our so called leaders and do nothing to change it. This country I love sooooo much is headed for the abyss. Wake up Dominicans, wake up and smell the coffee before its too late. No one is immune to the wrath of the devil and his henchmen.

Sinners judging sinners. No one is perfect. God knows who are striving for mortal and spiritual perfection.
The best anyone can do is to pray with a good heart, live well in peace with others, cease criticisms, not blaming and pointing a finger at others and judging them and state unemployment is the cause of it. People who do are themselves hypocrites and.ignorant of the reason why people do these things.
The victim was employed. The murderer had money to go to an entertainment area. Do you know if he is unemployed? So what do you have to say for that?
God will not state that such disturbances are due to unemployment nor excuse the perpetrator.
Someone started the fracas over what. Another responded and reacted which culminated in the death of the man. What really caused it?
When arguments arise, it is better to walk away. If an offense was committed to another, saying “I am sorry” may help avert further quarrels and the end result of injury and murder.

When they clearly said the young man was an employee of a company. Stop making excuses for this evil people out here who thinks that it’s ok to go around murdering, robbing, rapping etc etc

Lord, You know, it is the month of November. Your Church especially remembers the departed souls You forgave but which You know are not bad enough for Hell but not yet ready for Your Heavenly Kingdom, All-Holy, Pure, United in Love, as One with Praise and Thanksgiving to You for having saved them.
Those souls, through Your Divine Mercy, Compassion and Forgiveness, are making atonement, being cleansed of the residue of their earthly frailties.
Please have mercy on those who especially will die suddenly through whatever means.
We pray that Your Divine Mercy and Compassion was poured out to this man as he was making the transition from life to death, that you had mercy on his soul.
We know, too, Lord, that St. Faustina Kowalska of Poland said in her Diary, now a book, Divine Mercy In My Soul, “through your Mercy, You call out to every soul at the time of death,” giving them that ONE MORE LAST opportunity to respond to Your Love and mercy to be saved.
    Thank You Lord!

What you stated is a lot of crap. Never give ungodly advice for it will backfire on you. Wait and see. Furthermore, you are tarnishing the minds of those who will listen and take it. There is a price to pay for that before God. Fool!
Are you a Christian? Our Lord said, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”
Many talk and criticize. It appears this is all they are capable of doing and excel in.
A genuine Christian knows The Lord hears the prayers and will do with them as He pleases. He wants people to pray. It is sad that you do not know that.
You lack godly enlightenment. Education without God will not help.
The employed and educated also commit crimes. Pray to God for enlightenment which you sadly lack.
You will do well to stick to the topic and leave the rest of your nonsensical comment out of it.

I am so happy to know that someone else knows what’s going on. The people who gave us their lord is continuing to kill our brothers in the streets of America and they are fed up with us in their great britain. After our people built up these places, there is no need for them in these countries. Yes, our people have been brain-washed by the religion that was forced on our fore-fathers. We have been blinded by religion and politics to get us distracted from the truth about who we are as a people. It’s nothing about voodoo. It’s about the weapons and drugs that have been planted in our countries by our enemies. African people did not have guns before Africa was invaded. In the ghettos of America, the drugs were planted there by the enemies of black people. They have used these weapons against us so as to lose our focus.
Africans practiced African spirituality and yes, both obeah and voodoo are African spiritual practices which the seers used up to this day and it’s not evil…

What a shame! It is a time for celebration and parties; not for melees, injury and murder. People cannot go to a place of enjoyment without being injured/killed. Why do they bring weapons of destruction of life to a party? They go to a party to enjoy themselves; not to pick a fight which leads to that. To bring weapons depict they are out for a fight.
Organizers should take precaution for safety of patrons. They should screen party-goers for possible weapons. Warn them that they will not be admitted with weapons.
When police orders the party to be stopped due to a disturbance, injury and death, the organizer should obey the police and shut it down. It should not be allowed to go on. I would not expect this in Dominica but then these days some party-goers are not always considerate and sympathetic as they should. Regardless and heartlessly, they want their money’s worth.
Heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased.
May his soul rest in peace. Amen!

I disagree! On the contrary the PM should eradicate all guns that could be used for murdering their fellow people. If there were no guns, they would not use them to shoot people.
It will be argued that there are other weapons. This is one of them the man used to kill his victim.
The next step is to severely punish those who especially take a life. This is to incarcerate them for life with no parole. This may reduce murders.
If they knew they would punished accordingly, they would curtail their anger and murderous ways of their heart and mind.
Those who take a life do not deserve to live in society. They have committed a crime against the State, against nationals in general.

The devil, knowing him and what he was up to, entered with him as he engulfs his heart and mind. It did not look as if he came to the fete to enjoy himself in a genuinely clean manner. Some silly fool gave you thumbs down. This person must be one who is non law-abiding. As you see, Dominica (as other countries) consists of every sort, the law-abiding and non law-abiding ones.
There are some who cannot live peacefully and who will not allow others to live peacefully. They will also mar the enjoyment of others. Some of them, troublemakers as they are, will pick a fight and with an innocent person.
It would be interesting to know how this melee commenced which led to the murder of the man. Even then, two wrongs do not make a right.
These days, one does have to be wrong to get in trouble with troublemakers and to be murdered. The murderer is wrong to kill the man. Thou shalt not kill.

la murderer Dominique la last chue !!!!

@Concern citizen You are so right…He even called upon his doggone idiots and slaves to go to funerals and provoke people..That’s why I often refer to this country as a failed state.

Admin: Reader, if you submit another comment entirely in caps and it’s not approved, that will because of the numerous requests that DNO has issued this regard.

A simple get together and someone dies. Seriously, I would confine all action to house parties and ban any and all social dances until these …….. learn to be humane.

This could also prove unsafe to attend. Even at house parties it could occur. It depends who organizes the party, at whose house and the type of people who attend.
Noting some do not go anywhere without their gun and other weapons, some troublemakers crash parties and also injure and kill party-goers. Some people look for trouble anywhere even where they are not invited.
I would think private dinners are better and then the invitees could party after dinner. This could keep uninvited people away.

By the way people of a certain caliber and status do not know what it is to be humane and will never learn to be humane. They are what they are. No one and nothing can change them. People must realize the present era we are living in. Those who treasure their well-being and life should stay away from those places where any and everyone are welcome.

You chat too darn much and don’t give other people a chance to get in a word. You want to comment on every article sometimes several times. I see that you have made at least 15 comments in this article alone. People welcome comments, but you are monopolizing the comment section and acting like a mosquito in our ears.

I agree! Same thing I was discussing with my sister yesterday….I like a good time as much as the next person, but this is getting out of hand now.

If it were not for the fact that Dominica’s economy is so fragile and depends on these “fests” to get VAT, I would send out a call for the PM to put a ban on all public sewo for a while. Or put all sewo between 6a.m to 6p.m just like how Ma Charles had done it during the eighties…

It’s time for our government we put there to work for us actually DO some work, instead of running around busily fattening their own pockets….We need proper leadership in this country!
