BREAKING NEWS: Robbery at Texaco Gas Station

A gun man robbed a Texaco gas station operated by Valley Engineering on Goodwill Road this morning.

A reliable source told Dominica News Online that at the time of the robbery, the attendant on duty was outside  serving a customer when she noticed that someone had entered the building.

According to our source, the attendant followed, in an effort to assist that person and instead encountered  a man wearing a cap, pointing a gun at her face and demanding money. She said the robber eventually made off with money which he took from the draw and her bag amounting to approximately $1400 .

We were told that police arrived on the scene within minutes and are investigating the matter.

Its amazing to me that Dominica is being compared to America.
You are not comparing apples to apples people.
This is an island which is slowly being engulfed with corruption. We all have a part to play in it’s growth and developement….there’s enough blame to go around. Dominicans need to be realistic and start beleiving in doing what’s right by all and for all.
It amazes me that people or persons would see a woman leaving a married man house, or knows what taking place on a dock crew ship but yet these same people and person can’t point out the culprits that goes around causing conflict on the island.

    Happy New Year!
Lets all think about our country while we ponder on our New Years resolution.
What can I do, What can we do to make Dominica our peaceful home.

Sorry to read about yet another robbery. At a time like this she should not have been working alone. Chances cannot be taken. When she left the office, she should have locked the door. I suppose that she overlooked it, not suspecting that a thief would pounce on the opportunity to commit a crime. He obviously planned it and waited for her to leave the office.
Having stated that, the thought is crossing my mind, who was that person she was serving outside? Could it have been a set up? This is worth contemplating on. I hope the police will investigate the person she was assisting outside.

When law and order breaks down so does society. Stiffer penalties for these sort of crimes is what we need. These sort of crimes are becoming too commonplace whilst they get a slap on the wrist. Imagine a person gets more jailtime for stealing a tube of toothpaste than if you rape a child; murder someone or wound a person. Magwasa

I’m surprised at the # of thumbs down for a very true statement but then again I’m not surprised as a Government is representative of the people afterall its the people who voted them in.

So considering the rapid increase in crime it means that Dominicans are criminal by nature so they voted in with 18 seats! criminals just like them which explains the 20 thumbs down.

      Don’t worry ?????????????????, I am a thumbs up times a million.

It happens in America every 5 minutes so is do you share the same views? Our politicians are sick and have magnetic fingers like never before however PERSONAL RESONBILITY should never be excused. Too many people just prefer to rob and threaten peoples’ lives for what they work hard for. It is a collective responsbility starting with the home and parents.

The only difference America is a much richer country compare to D/A, but this particular crime going on very much match the USA. Authorities take hint and get to work they only have to work from the south west to northwest side Scotts head to Capuchin take it from the north east down to south side Penvile back to Scotts head. Clean up the place before things get out of hand. Now give me more thumbs down, am only giving my two cent and hopefully something good can happen so D/A would be on the map as one of the safest place. Person like me can come back home and every thing gonna feel alright like Bob marley would say. I shall end this note with a happy new year to all Dominican and I wish for peace, and D/A comes back to the peace full place it once use to be.

when I say D/A turning like a America in my last post with the gun tragedy in Portsmouth I get a lot of thumbs down , it’s like people getting injured or killed by guns in D/A by the hour so I lie , then if so then so is the news.If 2012 ending like that than watch out for 2013 if authorities don’t do something, I guess every body will have to start getting guns to to protect them self. That’s the next name for America the right to bear arms. D/A heading that way. Some people don’t like to hear the reality of things, but hey it is what it is. Now I have written the truth give me thumbs down don’t care lmao :-x

  29. December 27, 2012

I am trying my best not to respond to these news articles, but they don’t stop coming. And so, I have a message that is for all of us–Dominicans and all over the world—we should be taking serious notice of that fact.

It is time for us, “human beings” to accept the fact that the “World” in question is not its structural foundation–but the world in question is us, people, who continue to nurture in our minds, the attitude and conducts of evil and wickedness in all forms of existence. We are hurting innocent people and that is not accepted in Life—which are the ways of God, who is Love

An armed person—man or woman—is prepared to take the Life of his or her fellow man, if she would not allow that “individual” all the money she has in her possession—including that of the business where she is employed.

Do we even need “God’s Laws” to tell us that, that kind of mentality is very, very, wrong? Doesn’t the possessor of that state of mind deserve complete destruction—if God is a Holy God, who cannot tolerate this kind of wickedness? We all want this and that, but God will only allow us, what He knows we truly need, and at His time and space—not ours. We cannot deal with the matter by ourselves!

Well yes people, the “world” in question are the “human beings” around us, who continue with such wicked, evil, and downright mischievous conducts, simple to satisfy their fleshly ego—whatever the form of wickedness that enters their mind.

Yes indeed! Their time is coming, and it will take them by surprise–no doubt about it! Those people will be asking the mountains to fall on them, because their body will no longer succumb to death. They will be left awake in the body to know the torments and tortures which they caused others, in their environment, of their lifetime.

The goat and sheep of the nations will be gathered before the Throne of Jesus Christ. The sheep will go on His right and the goats on His left. Jesus will welcome the sheep into His Kingdom, but the goats (the world of wicked and evil people) will be destroyed. “Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying”.

What is my country turning into? It seems like we have a little sint martin or new york somewhere in dominica. By this I mean that all u read about are guns here and there.what is happening to our beautiful island? No one seems to care about each other, unless its about money or drugs or selfishness. Dominicans when other ppl read ur news and what is going on in our country, I must say shame on us. We are bringing our country down. What we do affects all of us dominicans and put our country on a low level. Its time for us dominicans to control and behave ourselves in a human like manner. Even the animals behave better than some of us. Just saying………

They tired, tell these businesses to install security cameras, but sadly they are all too ‘Cheap’ to spend the few extra dollars to do so. They prefer to get robbed of much more than the system is worth, then come to the public seeking pity.

For that matter in the absence of any witness this case remains just an allegation, and will most likely never be solved.
