Shooters killed five officers during protests against police in downtown Dallas, marking the deadliest single attack on U.S. law enforcement since September 11, 2001.

The gunfire started Thursday night as demonstrators marched against the shooting deaths of two African-American men by police in Louisiana and Minnesota.

A total of 11 officers were shot, and some of the six officers injured are undergoing surgery, authorities said.

It was the deadliest single attack on law enforcement since the 2001 terror attacks, when 72 officers died, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.

The word \”police\” should be abolished. Call them by some other name like, community guards. Police is a word that has been associated with brutality, murder, corruption and the like. Those who are called by the name \”police,\” automatically think that they are above the law.

Hello and good morning my people. First I want to offer my condolence to the family of the Officers and also to the people who were injured. The question we must asked the American Government is what are you going to do with people having access to such military typed weapons like the AR-15. Every time there is a mass shooting the NRA say blame the person not the guns but any thinking person should understand that if you don’t have such weapon you can’t cause the damage. America also have a lot of young soldiers returning from war who don’t have any skills to be employed and they suffer from mental problems. They must engage in a massive retraining for those people otherwise it will get worse. The American Goverment must look into the mirrow and confront their race issues because the reflection you see is yours and stop telling other countries how to treat their citizens when you have more problems than others.

Yo Roosevelt Skerritt and Labour Party supporters,i’m sure you saw the scenes on TV in America, including in Dallas, where the police officers were shot.Large numbers of people in the streets and even in a standoff with police in Atlanta. No police fired shots to clear the people off the major streets.Whilst the protests were in the streets, citizens could not drive on these streets to go about their business.Irrespective what mayor Guliani says, the police who were hurting at the loss of their colleagues, allowed the protest to happen. This should be a lesson for chief Carbon and Blackmore as to how democracy works.People said violent things on TV and social media, yet they were allowed to exercise their rights under the Constitution.Tin pot dictators are so scared of opposition that they want to kill their opponents. What you guys want to do in Dominica will not stand.Lesson for you guys

What I mentioned are just some of the mass shootings not counting the individual ones that take place on a daily basis. The Dallas police commissioner said the senseless shooting must stop. You know how many times I’ve heard that phrase all over America. It must stop,It must stop and it’s as if they’re saying it must go on..That’s what one get when he/she put their trust in a person,a thing,a place other than the true living GOD. They’re so smart that they have becomes fools. What our eyes cannot see is greater than what we are able to see in the physical. The folks that go around committing these vicious arks are just the vessels that make themselves available for use but they’re not the real deal. The real deal are the ones that are pulling the strings behind the scenes, those that we can’t see with our naked eyes. And so,when one soul is require of them at what ever time of the day no amount of guns can get in the way, they certainly did not for the five Dallas officers.

After the Orlando gay club shooting and the one in California ,Donald Trump kept saying that, had the victims of these shooting had their guns strapped around their waste or unto their legs the out come would have been different, meaning someone would have taken out the gun man sooner.Well in Dallas the young man took it to the ones who had it strapped around their waste. He took out five, wounded many more before he was taken out hours after. And that is America best form of protection. I will say it again just as I have said in the past. GOD has given them over to their guns, since HE’s not able to protect them. Yes, some say it in their mouth but their hearts are with their guns. HE sometimes permit us what we insist on getting and many of us are not aware it usually in packages.A little of the good,a little of the bad and the very ugly. Like what went down in Dallas,in Orlando,in California, in New Town Connecticut and so many more we have are beginning to forget.

  8. I am afraid, that one of these days, something of this type will happen on this island. People are fed up with the way justice is being done. Sooner or later people will take the law in their own hands
    @takecareofmyheart July 8, 2016

My friend, that is a thing of darkness which you are nurturing in your mind. \”Thoughts\” and \”words\” are the most powerful weapons of the world, in that everyone thinks before they puts their thoughts into play –through their words or through their actions-that which can destroy a whole community .

It is a great mistake to think that people will take the law in their own hands –I will pray that God forbid this in our Dominica; that is what you should be doing as well–not expressing fear about it .

    • Elizabeth, its a wonder something like that has not yet happened in Dominica.

Wherever there is oppression, wherever there is victimization; wherever the law of the land only serves the rich, and the haves; and the poor and the have not; are railroaded, and prosecuted; wherever politicians place themselves, on pedestals, and look down on the poor, and rule over the people as gods, and dictators; frustration and anger are compelled to set in.

Where there is no work, no industries, to cause people to engage in gainful employment, they become hungry, and when that happens it is likely people go to war against authority. History usually repeats itself, there is another 1979 pending, and I believe the second will be worst than the first!

In 1979 the police, and the defense force utilized guns, the people used rock-stones, yet they subjected the government to defeat: these days are more modern; guns and ammunition are over popular in the country, and people will not hesitate to…

      • These days are more modern; guns and ammunition are over popular in the country, and people will not hesitate to use them!

A hungry people are an angry people, and there is no limit to what anger will cause; handouts will not prevent the inevitable.

    @waiting for Francisco

Francisco can, at times, have some extreme views on national issues. However, very often he makes some valid points and is very much in tune with what’s taking place in Dominica. The problem with you and many others who support Skerrit and his labour party is that Skerrit just can’t be wrong even in the face of clear evidence to the contrary. Skerrit’s leadership continues to be a failure. Under his leadership, Dominica hasn’t made economic progress, so much so that he has all but thrown in the towel, depending now on passport sales and taxes to run this country. Francisco knows that Skerrit isn’t the one responsible for the shooting of police officers in Dallas, but he knows that Skerrit is responsible for the poor state of our economy and the overall stagnation, through his greed, maladministration and his general short-sightedness.

You see how silly you are: if you read what that person said; “it is people like you who believe Skerrit can do no wrong.” funny enough de man not even studying all you” your vocabulary alone is an incite of your intelligence.

Whether or not Skerrit listens to his critics like me, does not matter; however, what about you? Is Skerrit listening you? Do you have a job, and if so how much are you earning per month, compare your annual income to Skerrit’s earnings, and look at your lifestyle, and compare it to that of Skerrit, and his ministers.

Then figure out if Skerrit is listening to you! People like you like pain, you enjoy poverty, and living in wants of even the mere necessities of life, as long as Skerrit and his immediate family lifestyle is maintained what goes on in Dominica, matters not to people like you!

    • Guy, you are as sick and ignorant as they come!

Why should you classify the avenger a ” filthy human being?” Did you see the look of the Black man face in New York being choked to death by a white police officer on the side walk; the Blackman did not commit an offense to deserve that.

Are you familiar with the Clavon murder in Florida by a Security Guard, who the police dispatch told not to follow Clavon, he ignored the and eventually murdered Clavon.

In Missouri recently a Mr. White police murdered a Blackman the moment he reached into his glove compartment reaching for his drivers license, and vehicle registration, the incident took place at a gas station.

Days before that they shot another Blackman who the following week was supposed enter college.

Where were you Mr/Miss Dominica idiot, when the police arrested a young man Black in Washington DC, tied him up like a pig dumped him in a van, drove around with him crushing his spine, murdering him. Where…

      • Where were you? The officers who murdered all these Black people you call clean humans. Where were you when this week the police in Minnesota, and Louisiana murdered two young Black men?

Just remain in Dominica, be a beggar to Skerrit, and shout your damn mouth!

  13. LifeandDeath

What’s even more alarming is that a lot of black people only see the videos and react..All police officers are not bad people and some genuinely defend and protect innocent people..It was wrong to Kill both black men, and if later it is proven that these killings were racially motivated that still would not justify going crazy and killing innocent police officers.
Anyway, people please begin to think on your own two feet..Statistics on Police Killings in the USA by race show that more “WHITES” are killed by police officers than blacks. But for some reason the media have a field day in reporting black murders by white police officers and further drive the wedge of hate between two races..Non of the killings are justified and hope some justice comes for all victims..The Bad Media is to be blamed for this senseless retaliation. Police in America kill all races either deliberately or by accident..this is not a white on black exclusive..Stop fueling hate..USE YOUR HEADS!!

      July 8, 2016

You are simply uninformed of the facts. Do you live in the US? The justice system is extremely biased against blacks. And they are killed and jailed in far higher rates that other races. Bear in mind that there are many many more whites in the US than blacks so when you hear more whites are killed you have to ask yourself about the relative % not absolute numbers.

This is wrong on all levels.
Violence against innocent police or anyone else will not solve this.
People need to analyze all facts, social media postings, news, etc. before they react and speak. We need togetherness and love, not words of hate or divisiveness.
    I am neither pro-Black nor pro-Cops. I am pro-life!!!

We should remember the families of the officers in our prayers and also for the families of the men in Baton Rouge and Minnesota. We should reflect on how precious life is and appreciate and cherish our loved ones. No matter what, we need to love each other now more than ever.

  15. why?
    July 8, 2016

Millions of people, worldwide, of every race, are waiting to see the police officers who murdered our black men punished. However, this, killing police officers who have nothing to do with the murders, is senseless. They’ve arrested the shooters and I am willing to bet they are not even black men themselves.

    • Why :?:

Thank you for putting it in perspective.

You are so right. It hurts even more knowing that the officers who are being killed now had nothing to do with the terrible murder of the black man in question. What is happening is insanity like the original murder. People know this but when anger and the desire for revenge take over common sense goes out the window.

I am far removed and had nothing to do with any of it. Yet I am terribly upset.

Please pray for me and all who are in any way touched by this.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

    • How can you say the killing of the five officers, and the wounding of the seven is senseless?

Wherever you are your sentiment is straight out of a Dominica comic! This is something which has been brewing in America for a very long time. The who shot these people said he did it in revenge for all the Black people white police are murdering.

He stated that before they killed him!

The amount of Black people men women and children police white police kill everyday somewhere in America, you do not hear about half them. Guy no black person living in the United States is safe, walking down the street, or driving, when encountered you had better render your entire body lifeless, because one strange move could cost you your life!

No matter under what circumstance the police murder a black person, the courts never finds them guilty. In one of the latest incidents, they shot a man four times in his chest, simply because he told them he has a permit to carry a concealed weapon,…

    • You need to stop talking because you do not know about half of what is going on! They are holding three alleged suspects.

However, the man who did the killing told the police before they sent a robot in with some explosive and kill him, that he acted alone!

So how can you the arrested the shooters?

Because one is arrested does not mean they are involved in a crime

      • Barbara Saunders
        July 8, 2016

        You know, Francisco,

Not too long ago when I was fed up with you beating up on Dominica and Dominicans and talking as if the USA is paradise, I was pointing out to you the number of black men that are being killed in America by police and the treatment that some protesters received recently complete with pepper spray.

I almost wish I had not referred to that to make my point that there is bad and evil everywhere including the USA where you live. Look at what is going on now. Add to that the acrimonious political campaign and terror attacks going on in that country and everything else and you could soon have to consider running to DA.

That’s why I have been trying to encourage you not to burn the bridge that you have crossed, you never know when you need to cross it again, so please stop your continuous venomous attacks on our beautiful country and your attempts to poison the minds of our people. We don’t need the chaos that you are now faced with where you live sir!

      • Lover girl Barbara in spite of the hate some white people has for Black people in this country, I much prefer to live and die here ten times than dying once in Dominica oui!

        Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!

I am an American citizen by naturalization, I have every benefit as an American born! So, why would I want to return to a place like Dominica, where someone knows the first time they get a heart attack or stroke they die! I know people from Dominica; had they not have their papers to reside here and visits regularly to get medical attention, they too would be dead. America, has it’s advantage, and disadvantages, a black person simply have to learn how to deal with the situation when it arises.

As a black person man or woman we expect it: I have had plenty…

      • Continue Barbara:

As a black person man or woman we expect it: I have had plenty run-ins with the police, where they come into my house and pointed a gun to my head, talking about domestic violence in me own house. I get pulled over five and six times per day for no other reason than the cars I own and drive are above the average. They are over a hundred thousand dollars each, so the impression they have, is this; a black man driving an expensieve sports car; he must be a drug dealer: so they search my cars every time; meanwhile I am standing like I am in straight jacket with my hands on my head if the did not feel like handcuffing me.

Driving across country going to Canada in Amarillo Texas I was driving 40 miles per hour in a 60 mile per our zone, a police was on the side of the road ahead of me he pulled me over, and issue me a citation claimed I was doing 72 miles per hour, and argued with me that he had his Laser on me for a half of a mile. I knew he was lying because my…

      • Finally Barbara:

I knew he was lying because my cars are equip with Laser detector, and blocker, if he did hit me with his Laser as he claimed I would have detected it.

But that not all, I got to Canada and was parked in my cousins yard on Ferris Road, I saw police cursing and went and park a block away, as soon as me and one of my young cousins got into my care and drove out of the yard there four police cars around us, with gun pointed at me, asking me who car is and if I am a dealer. But in spite of all of that; I am not considering returning home anytime soon.

I doh want to call a certain fellah name cause if I do I will get plenty thumbs down, but unless the political system of victimization change, and there is an International Airport at home to fly direct Francisco doh leaving Merica eh!

You are obviously minimising the situation in America and doing a disservice to the blacks in America. But this is Dominica where everything is political. Some people are trying desperately to start a race war and the innate tribalism and propensity for hysteria in humans are making it easier for them . People are already saying “more need to die” like having some crazy officers who disgraced the entire force means that all police officers deserve to die. Never mind that most of them are brave souls who do the job that most in society would not want to do (keeping criminal elements in line). It’s all about “they killing black people” so they need to die. Us vs them. smh

    • We saw the video of the white cop who sat on a black man and drew his gun and shot into the man’s chest. This outraged us beyond words. My friend, I have a confession. God forgive me. I know this will hurt me professionally. No pastor in Dominica is likely to ever invite me to conduct a gospel crusade in his church after hearing this.

If I had been there (in the States) and if I had been carrying a gun (I would not have been) but if I had been armed (sorry) I would have literally emptied my gun into that uniformed reprobate. People who know me would tell you that would not be me. But I would have snapped. I guess every man has his limits.

      • Mr. Hill that would be their lost; meanwhile your are first a man, a human with feelings and emotions like any other man capable of doing the same things. Paul murdered as many people, yet God appointed him to bring the word to the Gentiles.

There is a part of Scripture in the Old Testament where a Prophet of God was walking down the street, he had a balled-head, some children began to bother him as they said go on down baldy, the Prophet called a lion out of the bush, and made it eat the children!

Now Jesus had a very special love for children to my mind that is why he said suffer little children to come unto me and forbid them not, the Prophet must have known that. I doubt you have to worry about preachers in Dominica.

Your alternative, might be to go to Dominica on your own and engage in some none-denominational open-air service. If your preaching or teaching is of God, it will stand, it will prevail, as God will go with you! We all saw the same evil you saw. Worst of…

Its what we need to hear right now.

      God bless you.

  22. Human life is precious in the sight of God. The taking of a life brings grief and sorrow to all intelligent and caring people.

It is doubly sad when the supposed need for revenge over powers a person’s knowledge of right and wrong, and causes people to violate God’s commandment ”Thou shalt not kill.”

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

My wife and I are horrified by the news that a white police officer drew his gun and shot a black man dead. Once is too often. But it has happened again and again. The officers will argue their reasons but from where we are sitting we cannot see a reason or reasons that look like they would stand up in court.

It is our opinion that – unless it is obvious self defence – these officers should be charged with murder.
In places where they have the death penalty these renegade cops should be executed if they are found guilty. Justice should be swift. Don’t add insult to injury by waiting a year or two before they are brought to trial.

Condolences to the families of police who lost their lives in this attack in Dallas.I hope that out of this will come national dialogue and lead to an end of police hunting and executing black men and facing no punishment. When you have a situation where the police are afraid of blacks, most encounters will be flammable because of the fear factor.Added to that you give one side, the police, power and protections in the uniform and the badge, and a gun on top of that, this is a recipe for the executions of blacks which we are witnessing.Britain has a lot of blacks but there is not the open season on blacks that happens inthe USA.Manifest destiny, white privilege and the decline of the middle class has led to more anger against blacks. The young men who shot the cops had had enough and took matters into their hands.Let this be a warning to both sides.Police need to respect the rights of blacks in particular and the public in general.Bad cops caused this situation

Police in US are not fearful of blacks. Many of them are simply hateful and racist toward blacks and specifically join the police force to gain the power to kill and mistreat black people.

help me understand what is nice about senseless killing? The actions (Texas, Louisiana, Minnesota) we have seen displayed over the last week or so are unacceptable.
