DAPD office burgled again

The office of the Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities (DAPD Inc.) on Canal Lane, Goodwill was broken into, over the week-end, the second of such incident to occur in seven weeks.

The thieves again went away with computer and office equipment, as well as beverages and a number of flash drives.

Two of the flash drives contain information related to the education of the blind student at the St. Mary’s Academy, whose text books were being scanned  to be saved on his computer so as to enable him to do his school work.

Items stolen were:
5 Desktop computers      DELL OPTIPLEX 760
5 Monitors                           DELL 170FPVt
1 All inclusive Printer      DELL 810
6 Keyboards                        DELL L100
6 Mouse                                  MOC5UO
1 Magicjack
4 USB Flash Drive   SanDisk

The first incident took place on July 21, 2011.

In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

These things will continue to occur because some people have no fear of the Most High. They think that when they die this is the end of their lives, however, these thieves must remember there is judgement day and all souls must account for their deeds.

Second, when Allah’s laws are not applied then these injustices will continue. The only reason thieves would repeat this sick act is because an example wasn’t made of the first. If the hand of the thief was cut of from the wrist and this was made known publicly that these are the consequences of thief, do you think places would be robbed again? Hell no! It would sent a chilling fear into the heart of the thief and this is what our society needs to do. We are too soft on criminals in the west that is why crime is so high.

Stop blaming this nonsense on the governments or there is no work to do. Rubbish! One can struggle or be poor but still have morals. Dominica has too much food to eat the basic necessities of life can be met if one wants to have it in DA. Our people are not greedy if you explain your situation well and they do not see you as a beggar. Too many of our people have more moral consciences.

Hopefully the barbarism of Sharia law never comes to the West. What’s next, stoning women to death for not wearing the Hijab?

This is the result of a poor economy and the changing of morals. The churches, schools, government and communities need to set examples and make very clear what is acceptable in a civilized society. An all out effort should be made to reduce unemployment and give people the dignity and respect that honestly providing for oneself incurs. Cutting one’s hands off certainly isn’t a demonstration of civilized behaviour and makes one no better than those that transgress.

The youth need to be educated, disciplined and taught not to steal what which does not belong to them. They should know the Commandment, “Thou shalt not steal.” If they pay heed they will not grow up to be thieves and a menace to society.
It is a grievous/mortal sin to steal and from those who are disabled, also other vulnerable people as the elderly.
We reside in the western world which does not really practice an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught against this. We do know that if caught and convicted they will be imprisoned for a certain length of time. Generally they must also return the stolen goods and/or pay for them.
Sharia Law is indeed barbaric. It has no place in the western world. This law and those who practice it lack love and compassion.
Muslims tried to get the Ontario government to approve this law. The government said, “NO!”
The French, Italian and Australian governments also do not approve of it.
Let them keep their law to themselves or return to their countries and practice it – not in the western world. We must do all we can to prevent this from occurring.
Rehabilitation is Christian-like. It is necessary to assist thieves and other criminals, if only they will pay heed and change.

Approximately a year ago, I recall hearing and reading through the US Media and which was also posted on the Internet that a Mayor of (I believe) Texas gave all the prisoners “a pink outfit” to wear as girlies. Obviously, they were not happy about that. Some of the prisoners, if not all of them said that when they leave prison they are not coming back/will never return. I was quite amused when I read that. The information was also circulating over the Internet by emails. I believe I still have a copy.
The suggestion was that every country needs such a Mayor and we should send for him. He is a no-nonsense one who is fed-up of the actions of criminals. Every country should have one as he. What a Mayor! Good job! Hats off and Laurels to him.
I endorse such an outfit. Probably the government of Dominica could implement this one? It is not barbaric. It may help to decrease crimes/murders and the prison population.

      @ Daroud A. Darroux
I knew some Darroux’s in DA. Is this not a Dominican name? I heard that some Dominicans have renounced their Catholic faith and now practice Islam.
Who Allah are you referring to? Islam Allah? You are a Dominican who were probably a Catholic. You have renounced Our Lord Jesus Christ and His teachings according to the Holy Scripture? I feel sorry for you on that inevitable day when you meet Him for your judgment.
It is so sad that in these times of the Great Apostasy some people allow themselves to be falsely indoctrinated to their eternal detriment.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said: “When He returns will He find faith on earth?”
We note the loss of faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ. As the saying goes, that will be your funeral forever.
The Law to be applied here on earth, now and in the future until the end of time is the Law of Our Almighty Father God, the Creator/ Maker and Ruler of the world, His Blessed Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete, Advocate, Counselor, Consoler and Comforter. He is called and must be called by no other name. He does not recognize any other name. He will judge all nations and people. It will not be any Allah or any such god with this and any other name except Our Almighty – Heavenly Father, God who art in Heaven. Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven…For the Kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours, now and forever. Amen! That is our God.

It is so comforting to see that there is something happening in Dominica for the Disabled. An Association, A Voice…

It is always the people who are least able to properly defend themselves that suffer from cruel acts performed by right minded individuals who refuse to work for what they want but instead take a short cut to getting it…I pray that God visits those responsible and remind them that He is everywhere…that he saw what they did and is not pleased with it…

Oh Lord, please bless the Association of Disabled people, let them be rewarded double for what was stolen from them…in Jesus Name!

      @ Angel

We are to stand up for them, support them, help them in any possible way and defend them. This will please God. Our Lord Jesus Christ said: “In the least of these, this is how you please Me most.”
In time, those thieves will pay a dear price for what they have done. God knows who they are.

Does this place not have a security alarm system?
I am surprised that the computers which were stolen previously have not been found. They obviously steal them to sell them. Those who purchase stolen goods are aiding and abetting crimes. I hope you do not use those computers to access this Website.
You perpetrators you are harming your souls. A sure Hell for those who steal for no criminals will ever enter Heaven; worst yet from the disabled.
Thieves are an unhappy lot. Watch out also as you age. It will not be gracefully.
The eyes of Jesus are on every footstep every one takes. No exception you thief or thieves. Shame on you! The devil has control of your soul(s).
This is a low-down thing to do. You have no conscience. You are the lowest of the lowest, stooping so low to steal from the disabled. You should be helping them; not stealing from them. Return those computers.
Turn to God in prayer. Make penance, sacrifice and restitution before it is eternally too late for you.

I keep saying that our country is not as sweet as we would like the world to think, and i get pressured for saying so. But for a problem to be solved, we must first admit there is a problem. And then we can work towards solving it.

    September 12, 2011

What happen! this is not a safe building because I can not understand why is this place broke into so many times. Maybe, they need a steel doors and burglar bar for the windows. What about security cameras?? What about security alarms in the computer room.

I can’t understand someone or persons stealing all of those computers and no one saw anything or heard anything. Who is running this facility? Is this an inside job?? I have to ask this because I am trying to comprehend this repeat crime. And the person or persons know that they can get away with it. Who are in charge for this is not the 1st incident. NO provision to secure the facility.

Florida am in reciept of information that enough measures have being taken as per the security of this facility re burglar bars and sooo on but one has to remember that crime in Dominica Is now sophisticated, and since you call yourself Florida may i recommend that you and the other Patriots out there in Florida Send Some funds home so that we can Install more sophisticated Forms of Security at the DAPD — If you know the battle that this institution goes through to get a Cent then you Would Know that its Budget cannot afford the Luxury of Heavy Steal Frame Doors and or Security Cameras also there are several issues that are making such Criminals Commit Crimes against the DAPD including the Lack of interest by Government to Sign Into law the right of persons with Disabilities act wherein Government would also be a key stakeholder to such Aspects of our society Prime minister Skerrit on behalf of the patriots of t5his beloved land u too need to do something by investing some funds to bring adequate security to the DAPD I wait to hear you and your Minister Mrs Gloria Shillingford Condemn this act in much of the same way in which you spoke asking for unity as independence gets on the way

I am disgusted by these actions! I wish the police make a quick break through and apprehend the thief(ves) as quickly as possible time. My employer contributes to this institution and other NGOs and instead for people to say “let me help/contribute” they do the exact opposite…”let me see how much I can take from the under privileged”. I mean come on man…what kind of society have we become? Don’t people have a heart and a conscience anymore?

The person(s) who chose to burgle such an institution is certainly disabled IN THEIR HEAD. I think that person(s) if and when caught must be given some serious psychological assistance.

On the other hand, once is a mistake, twice is a habit. Your institution was broken into once, my God, what measure of improve security did you put in place to safeguard your belongings, to avert future similar occurrences?

First theft was a disgrace, now a second. Words are beyond me. I never wish bad for anyone, but now I find myself wishing bad for the calious thief(s).

NOW in response to your comment: For or against the police, they canot patrol the premises 24/7. It is not their job to put security measures in place. It is upto the individual. Ask what has the DAPD done to secure the premises. You dont expect the police to watch your home 24/7.

As I commented the first time this happened, if /when the low life try to sell the stolen items, to buy them makes you just as bad as the thief.
