Dexter Francis sues DFA

lawsuitFormer president of the Dominica Football Association (DFA), Dexter Francis, has filed a lawsuit against that organization claiming that he is being owed monies after he resigned his post in 2008.

According to court documents filed in suit DOMHCV396 OF 2012 Francis, through his lawyer William “Para” Riviere alleges that after repeated efforts to get his money from the DFA failed, and thus he has taken the matter to court.

Francis was elected president of the DFA in October 2006 by oral agreement between him and the DFA.

His salary was set at $3,707 monthly with two weeks paid vacation.

He states that on the date of his resignation the DFA owed him arrears of salary for the months of December 2007, January, February and March 2008 plus two weeks vacation.

The former DFA boss is claiming $16,681 in arrears of salary for the months of December 2007, January, February and March 2008 plus $1,853.00 in payment in lieu of two week’s vacation leave.

He is asking the court for damages on the sum of $16,681 and interest thereon at a rate of 5 percent per annum from the date of filing to judgment and 5 percent thereafter.

I can speak on this man’s’ behalf, money was never an issues with him. He is higher than that. Maybe you all should find out how the system treated him, and then make sense out of nonsense.
This man worked at the university in the north of the island, making much more than 3700, with his position that was chicken feed,
This man is a fully qualify architect, in all his rights. He was never in the system for the money, he loved the game, and was in it to promote and develop the sport. But mostly everything in this country falls back on political influence and authorities, with that said I settle it.
Please don’t be confined or define by other people’s ideology of who you are or how much you can achieve.
Please don’t allow anyone to reproach for anything that was given to you by them
    Make God your source.
He is neither Blue/Red/Green/Orange they are all the same but man, egocentric and imperfect.
Don’t lower yourself it’s not worth it, you are more than that ,look a little deeper and you will see.

If he did not need the money -why didn’t he just volunteer his time-if money is not the issue why the court case -by the way 3700 is not chicken feed I am sure some of the players would love to earn that kind of money.

Francis is saying that he was elected president of DFA in October of 2006 by oral agrement between he and DFA. I’m now asking, who is DFA?

If there are no guys to play football, would there be any president or executive members, what amount of money are being paid to the guys playing football?

One could’nt imagine that DFA has so much money.I used to believe that people were joining the association for the love of the game and I really think that it was voluntary

  10. Hmmm
    February 21, 2013

Well FIFA gives over 250,000 USD every year to DFA. So thats why everyone hungry to be in it. It’s all about the Benjamins.

So sad. It is all about money then. We have chairmen, executives, committees a “Patricl John” house but not even one decent, professional pitch to play on. You all are really showing Dominica in a bad light. You all are more interested in your share Fifa perks than the players or the quality of our football.

PJ suing, Dexter Suing. It is a whle suing thing. I wonder what rum they have there.
Seriously, it appears that the DFA is a pot of gold. Everybody wants their share. The irony about the whole situation is that these persons are former president. They profess their love for the sport, now we have seen their tru colours. They were realy there for the money.
Hear this, Dexter is suing for loss on income. He is making a case for mony which he did not work for.
PJ is claiming for money that he would have made.
    What joke, eh?

Both suits are not worth the paper that they are written on. Time will tel and the DFA will be vindicated in both cases. Bu do you know that PJ, who is now suing, had refused to pay Dexter when he made that claim during PJ’s reign?

    February 21, 2013

How interesting! I thought that the DFA was a voluntary organization? Now I understand why some people will do anything to be president of that Association. Dominicans take hid… you see where your money is going when you go to football games??? Shame on you, Dexter for finally showing your true colours. So you were really in it for the money, after all!
