Dominican killed in Guadeloupe identified

The apartment in Guadeloupe where Guiste's body was found

A man who was shot dead in Guadeloupe and whose identity remained a mystery for days has been identified as Vital Guiste of Delices.

The police in Dominica have reported that Guiste was identified by his cousin.

Guiste was shot dead last Wednesday in Capesterre-Belle-Eau and according to the French newspaper France-Antilles police in Gaudeloupe were unable to say who he was, since he had no identity papers.

The body was found on the first floor of an apartment building with a gunshot wound to the face.
The owner of the apartment reportedly told police that he did not know who the person was since he was not the tenant the apartment was rented to.

A neighbor said she heard an explosion at about 8:00 pm on Wednesday and called the police.

Due to the absence of an identity the body was named ‘X’ by French police.

An autopsy was carried out on the body on Monday.

Guiste is one of two Dominicans shot to death in Guadeloupe last week.

On Thursday night the body of 55-year-old Raphael Bazil, also known as ‘Bellot’, was found on a roadside in Grand Bois.

Investigations revealed he was shot in the arm, flank and abdomen, probably by a 12-gauge shotgun.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Investigations are continuing into both killings.

It is a shame how our young people are b killed in the island of guadeloupe. In my opinion the Government must begin to warn these young Dominican residents that their conduct and behavior has consequences especially in the island of Guadeloupe. The government of Guadeloupe do care about these young boys death in Guadeloupe. And our dominica government hands a tie in this matter. I was in Guadeloupe in 1997-1980 and it was a peaceful place never here Dominicans were been killed in this fashion. If we are going to act we should act now warn our citizens of their conduct, in the island of Guadeloupe and St Thomas.

Imagine! if those killings had taken place in Dominica; there would not be anything left to be said by some amongst us. Thank God the police commissioner`s name is not Cyril Carette. or the person heading the Gov`t is not PM R.S. There would not have water left to wash away those Two Gentlemen. Typical Dominicans.

god is always there with us and always helping us. it is just that smoe of these guys are rejecting good advise and reject GOD. so you mean they don t see and hear the news of those before them? they don’ t hear the messages on the radio ? are they living on a different planet? if the others walking the same path do ot put water in their wine , they will surcome to the same situation and you will keep on saying GOD help us. like GOD is not helping us. ofcourse he is all the time. are we helping ourselves?
