A man, who is believed to be a Dominican, was reportedly killed in drug bust in St. Kitts, media reports from that country indicate.

The incident took place last Thursday during which some men were allegedly in the process of making a drug drop at a remote beach called Conaree on the Atlantic coast.

According to media reports, around 5:00 am two men suspected of being non-nationals arrived at the shoreline on a speed boat while some locals were waiting in a pickup on the beach.

They were approached by the police and one of the men on the boat opened fire.

The police returned fire and one of the boat’s occupants was fatally wounded.

The police in St. Kitts have not released the identity of the man killed but the St. Kitts Obsever said it was reporting “on good standing” that he is Obie “Small Breeze” Baron, believed to be a national of Dominica, residing in Antigua.

During the operation, a gun and four bales of compressed ganja were reportedly recovered from the boat and the water. The street value of the illegal substance was placed at EC$930,000.

The locals on the beach, along with the other man from the boat, were arrested by the police.

Drug running isn’t the problem, the problem is jealousy, dishonesty and greed. When smugglers develop greed, jealousy and envy to other smugglers, that’s when the business gets dirty and nasty. That’s when the down falls and the blood shed begins.

Christians should be saddened when people die in such a manner, even under other types of circumstances. We are not to judge. While God is merciful, I wonder where the soul is in eternity.
God will weigh out his entire life, the good with the bad from the moment he was born, as a child, teenager, to adulthood. By his entire life, this man will be judged.
God is the judge. I still hope that God had mercy on his soul. We must still say, may his soul rest in peace.

This is an evil and dangerous business.

To prove this let me offer you a few observations.

    (1) When the police conduct a drug bust they often find a variety of drugs. There will be a quantity of the so-called “hard drugs” like cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroine. Nobody can claim these drugs are for medical use. There are frequently new drugs found now – so new we scarcely know what they contain – we only know what they do which includes blowing the consumers’ minds, and sometimes killing them. One of these little pills is currently making its way across Canada.

    (2) Among these the police will find marijuana. It belongs there because it is an important part of the drug trade. Marijuana goes a long way towards introducing young people to drug use. It brings in money for the sellers. People who commit serious crimes are often found to be high on the weed.

      (3) Among the drugs the police frequently find illegal guns. It is not unusual for dealers to be armed. This make it dangerous for the police.

As I have explained decriminalization will not work, neither will legalization, for what should be obvious reasons. What is needed are (a) Stronger laws that apply to the drug lords – the big guys at the top. (b)
better investigative work to root them out. (c) More serious penalties for the real offenders and I don’t mean the kid on corner who has an once or two of weed on him. (d) Genuine enforcement.

The drug war is exactly that. It must be treated like a WAR :!: Precious lives are at stake. Stop whining and shut these devils down :!:

Sadly so, there is much of that in Toronto. Many blacks have been murdered in that manner. Yes! Drug dealers are not learning a lesson. It appears they never will. The big money lures them. They hope that they will never get caught or murdered by their very own associates.
If you recall how many black young men were murdered on account of drugs, drug turf, etc. It also occurred to some who tried to turn their life around and were doing good. Even a little boy was killed when their bullets were flying.
Justine Trudeau, Leader of the Quebec Liberal Party who is campaigning for Prime Minister on October 16th promised to legalize marijuana if he won the election. He has high hopes. Due to that, I know he will not get my vote.

      • October 7, 2015

        The Real Facts:

Thank you for taking a stand. It is good to hear from somebody who has their political head screwed on right.

My wife and I grieve for the black lives that are lost due to the drug trade. Some of these are young people with such potential it breaks our hearts. They are not bad kids. They are at a time in life when they seek excitement and are naturally vulnerable.

We are angry at the devils (black and white) who target black communities in Toronto to sell drugs. Out of this activity comes random drive by shootings and other terrible acts. We know the territory well (Jane Street north, etc.) after spending over eight years in an inner city ministry reaching out both in the streets and apartment buildings.

Trudeau will not get our vote nor will anybody representing the Liberal Party. “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (The Bible)

So you do. This is no reason to call people stupid. They are not more stupid than you are.
Do not make excuses. If you wish to ingest it, that is your business and funeral.
We are advised that it is unhealthy.
It is too bad you have to take the weed for your ailment. Most people do not have to.
You may have lived an unhealthy life. This is why today you have to take it to ease your pain.
I am a Christian Catholic. If the day comes that I have pain, I certainly will not resort to these drugs.
I do believe why some people have to take it, it is because they did not live the type of life which God expects of them; not giving him due worship, ignoring him, rejecting him and speaking ill of him and those who worship him.
Look at the picture, your life and see where you went wrong.
Those who oppose this drug which some today call medication are not wrong. .
My advice to you is eat fruits and vegetables. Drink them too in the form of smoothies.

You need Vitamin C, D and E. There are other Vitamins.
Speak to your doctor. If it is not too late you could get off taking marijuana.
Most importantly, pray to God to assist you, to heal you. You must turn to him and worship him.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Apart from him you can do nothing.”
I pray that God will heal you and that you may live a healthy normal life.

Thank you for ready my comments and responding. But please do not call me stupid! I spent years studying to prepare for the work I am now doing.

I can tell you people often commit crimes under the influence of drugs. People who go on a crime spree or a killing binge have been found to be under the influence of marijuana often mixed with alcohol and or one or two other drugs. Usually marijuana was the first drug they ingested.

The Real Facts has given you some good information and advice about herbal treatments.

God is able and willing to completely heal and deliver you. He will turn your life around if you will surrender it to HIM and receive Christ as your personal Savior. I encourage you to read and meditate upon Romans 5:6-8, Ephesians 2:8,9, 1 John 5:11,12, and Revelation 3:20.

You are just a piece of driftwood out upon life’s sea.

This is not my cup of tea, I have mixed feelings about it. Some people buy this so they must be using it one by one full a basket but they always get caught on the big ones. I am in favor of them making money but getting caught means you are a fool. That does not give us right to have goes at each other, you make your mistake and you pay for your mistake .

    • October 7, 2015

You are in favor of people making money but by what means :?: By taking other people’s money :?:
By giving them poison in return :?: By supporting an illegal industry that is destroying people’s health and fuelling crime :?:

Let those who advocate for the medical use of marijuana first show that it is more effective than already existing drugs that are approved for the treatment of anything. Better that they spend their time and money researching the use of known herbs, health foods, and proper diets.

Those who are whining about the medical value of the weed are usually people who are already smoking it for recreational purposes, or hope to make money from the medicinal sales. Some are never do well scientists who are seeking government funding for their research.

Already medical marijuana has been abused. There are too many unscrupulous doctors to be able to keep it out of the wrong hands.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

So sad when a human life is lost.

Even sadder when we do not learn from the incident.

Unfortunately it is not uncommon for somebody to be killed in the recreational drug trade because it is a culture of death. Often the customers themselves die either from consuming bad stuff or overdosing. A customer kills a pusher for selling him an inferior product, or a pusher kills a customer for not paying up.
A pusher kill a police officer. An officer kills a pusher. A pusher kills another pusher for horning in on his territory.

Decriminalizing the drugs would not eliminate the worst of the problems. It would make it easier for underage buyers to get drugs. More people would be using. Health problems would multiply. Drug related crime would increase. Buyers would not pay sales tax. Dealers and pushers would not pay income taxes. People would still be dying.

    Continued …

    • October 5, 2015

Legalizing the drugs would be as bad or worse than decriminalizing. Why? Because people who deal in the drug trade have no respect for the law. How do we know? Because they are presently ignoring the laws that now exist. Pushers and dealers would continued to operate illegally (without a license) to avoid buying a license and paying income tax. Underage people would go to the illegal sellers for their drugs.
Everybody would go to them to avoid the sales tax. Some would go the unlicensed sellers because they want to buy larger quantities of drugs than the law would allow at one time.

I do not think that it is wise , at this moment to decriminalize Marijuana in Dominica . I say so because what is happening to the youths is that too many of them both boys and girls are really abusing the cannabis. They use it morning noon and night. For all intends and purposes , to me it is already legal in many communities island wide such as Newtown ( weed usage capital of Dominica ) , Grand Bay ( major factory ) , Tarish Pit , Washington, George town, La Pointe, Calibishie , River Street, Eggleston, Mahaut, St Jo, Woodforhill, Kingshill, Lubiere . Fond cole, and estate plus on many other blocks/ghetto areas on island.

The weed on its own as pure Marijuana does not create the major problem but what is happening now is that many other substances are being mixed with the marijuana and this is to get it to be more powerful and this causes very serious psychiatric and social problems. WEED IS NOT WEED anymore ! Look around your community and you see young lives are being…

    • October 9, 2015

      NONSENSE :!:

The decriminalization of marijuana will result in more wider use and more abuse.

The legalization of medical marijuana will be abused and bring society closer to recreational legalization.

Where recreational marijuana is legalized you already have illegal cocaine and guns.

Lack of respect for law and order, greed, and a disregard for the youth of your nation, along with a willingness to sell off the next generation is the total sum of what you are all about.

There is no answer except a revival of Biblical Christianity and a return to the morals an d values of a better time long gone.

Ganja, marijuana or medicinal herb as it is now identified is being given some credence for health purposes. Ganja needs to be freed up a bit so we won’t have persons risking their lives like this. Authorities, do something before these painful situations come knocking on your doors.

      • jamesd
        October 5, 2015

Well that’s simple. The drug is illegal so there’s great street value in selling it. Obviously these were businessmen not people with medical afflictions that might be potentially alleviated by using the drug

    • October 9, 2015

Trust me, these people were not risking their lives for the advancement of medicinal ganja or the medical use of any drug. They were taking the same risk any other criminal takes when he breaks the law for illegal gain.

The police did what they must do to protect society. Sadly a life was lost.

We must concentrate on drying up the source or stopping the demand before this becomes necessary as a last resort.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

    • October 10, 2015

The social problems caused by ganja abuse are well known. Knowledge of its benefits is slow in coming, and its abuse is evident. Why is it whenever a bust involving ganja is made know we get a sudden burst of information about its medicinal benefits (with no documentation) and nothing more is said until the next arrest?

A step towards legalizing ganja or marijuana for medical use is a step towards decriminalizing these and other drugs for recreational use. Many of you are already using it for recreational purposes. You want c easier access without the risk of arrest. You want to be able to grow, package, and sell it, without the risk of a fine or jail time

University based studies show marijuana damages the parts of the brain responsible for memory and learning. It is especially dangerous for young people in their late teens and early twenties still in high school, college, or university.

Some ppl just don’t want to work. They find why should they work a whole day for 30 or 50 dollars or wait a whole month to get pay when this money can be made much easier. Well yes It can be made easier and faster but like everything else it has a price a big price call ( death and jail)

All of this fear of marijuana was started by the United States, who is now in the process of legalizing it for recreational (not only medical) use. It is terrible that people are still being killed and jailed over this drug that makes you sleepy and hungry. How can this be rationalized? Who has overdosed? Who has beaten their families because they are intoxicated? Where is the proof of the terrible harm it does? It has been around for centuries and there never should have been such a fuss raised over it. How many people need to be killed?

People without proper qualifications show up in various professions from time to time.

Mistakes are made and people are hurt by those we would expect to know better.

This is all the more reason to keep untrained and unlicensed people from providing and/or selling drugs of any kind. This is especially true now of marijuana because:

        (1) There is already a market for recreational marijuana.

        (2) Once it becomes more available the more it will be used.

        (3) Those most apt to be hurt by abusing it are the very ones most apt to buy and use it in the largest quantities once it becomes legal.

        (4) Drug dealers will add larger quantities of marijuana to their stash increasing their trade and further fueling criminal activities.

Even if it’s his family what can he do, it might make him sad but what is done is done, he won’t be able to bring him back. He make a choice to do this by will I suppose. Now he paid the sad price and he’s still left without money and a family dat is now mourning

Cuz, don’t know about you but I chose my friends, not my family. That is my parents’ business, not mine.

Family benefitting from drug money. They must cry when bad things happen. Everyone cries when their family member dies. It’s natural……The family so loved him, they should freaking tell him that selling drugs is risky business…No, they sitting watching ‘SOAPS’ all day, all night and waiting for some super cash. The other one risking his life I bet you they did not warn him. Now they crying.

Sad one has to die but, such are the wages of crime, especially in the drugs trade.
