Dominica News Online (DNO) can confirm that several wounding incidents occurred during the Christmas season, particularly on the eve of Christmas.
One young man received cutlass wounds to his hands after he attempted to separate what we have confirmed was a quarrel between his sister and her lover. Both men fought from the nearby Grand Bay bus stop to the Tobacco factory. They were both rushed to the Princess Margaret Hospital.
DNO can also confirm that a young woman was stabbed in the neck area by another young woman. While the details of the brawl remain sketchy at this time, it appeared, from all reports that they were engaged in an ongoing feud.
Another incident involving young men from two different squads also broke out at a popular fast food franchise. It is still unclear if any of them received wounds from the bottles that they pelted at each other.
DNO will continue to seek official comments from the police department and bring you more information subsequently.

we also need to pray for each other.
Remember that prayers can move mountains
so we must start now.
violence is not unique only to dominica, so i see no reason that we as dominicans should be referring to ourselves as stupid. violence is part of the balance, every society has its fair share of violence. furthermore, the fight to stop violence in our society should not be left only for the police to fight………………we all have our parts to play…..wether it involves instead of instigating fights, offering words of GOOD advice………or in the event of a fight already in progress, helping to stop it instead of laughing and carrying on i.e. “whoooooooooosh look ‘tory”, OR “me? not me dat putting myself in dem people busines, let dem fight”.
hmmmmm…that’s why i stayed at my home…those idiots just like to get angry for petty reason…
