Five held in Valley Engineering robbery – police

Police now have five individuals in custody assisting with their investigation of the daring armed robbery of Valley Engineering Sales and Service establishment in Goodwill about week ago.

Police spokesman Claude Weekes told Dominica News Online that a computer and large sum of money was taken. He could not speak of the exact or estimated amount of money that was stolen.

Reports are that on the early morning hours of Thursday, October 7, two masked, armed men charged into the Goodwill establishment brandishing guns. They reportedly bound and gagged the business’s security guard before robbing two easily accessed safes and escaping in a car stolen from Valley Rent-a-car.

Police arrested the men and are holding them for questioning.

it is not a wise thing to do crime like these in groups and keep all the assets u stole… the young men did not think but right now with the independence fever everybody want money and dont care how they get it…it is better to work hard for what u want rather than have the stigma of being a thief attached to your name

I never thought that such would ever have happened in Dominica, robbery with masked men armed with guns. This is not the first time.

    Lord, please put a hand!

It is very easy to get funding for a prison complex. Building a new prison would create jobs and there would be less criminals walking the streets.

For those who choose to waste their youthful days the prison is a good place to spend time.
