Former prime minister posts bail for Marigot men

Former Prime Minister Edison James

Former Prime Minister of Dominica Edison James acted as a surety for two Marigot men, released on $5,000 bail each today.

Ghana Matthew and Henry Dorsette appeared before Magistrate Evelina Baptiste today where they were charged with obstruction and being a nuisance to the public.

According to the court, the two men allegedly placed a derelict vehicle on the Marigot public road to the inconvenience of passengers and obstructing them on Election Day December 18, 2009.

The two defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges and are set to reappear for trial for the matter on a later date.

Each defendant is required to report to the Marigot Police Station every Thursday.

James was re-elected parliamentary representative for the Marigot constituency in Friday’s poll.

The race is over and so as educated people who represent the 98% literate population it would be expected of us to move on and move forward. There is rarely a need to attach politics to everything and bicker over milk that has been spilt and mopped up. Instead of being blind sighted by politics we as a nation ought to inform our government of what is imporatant and essential to the growth of the country. Enough with the party politics and put country first! In all of this hooplah and carnival that was electioning there were still Dominicans who were starving, those who are in need of an education and those whose health is failing…….WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT BICKERING or BEING SENSIBLE?

Some of you people commenting here are being some nuisances and you all are irritating, you must first analyse a situation before you blame someone for another persons action. Do you have to add politics to everything in Dominca now? Has politics become the salt to the Food?

HUMMM” IF those two men were your brothers or relatives you would sure like your PAL REP to help them out. Let’s not be bias here. All the crimes happening in DOMINICA IS MR. JAMES PAYING FOR THEM? Check how many CRIMES were commited in DOMINICA FOR THIS YEAR NOT ONE OF THOSE CAME FROM MARIGOT. SO how comes MR. JAMES paying for CRIMES IN SOCIETY. BECAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY, ELECTION IS OVER YOU WON BE HAPPY. FIGURE THIS ONE OUT 666=6+6+6= 18 +18th. PUT THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND WAIT FOR THE SMOKE , I’LL TELL YOU LIKE THE JA’S WOULD SAY IT SOON COME MAN NAR WORRY.

This is a small matter. Remember what going on in Afghanistan and some parts of the world. People need to stand up for what is wrong. The devil is out, so we are going down the road of poverty and unemployment. I have’nt heard any politician talks about what they are going to do to reduce the rate of unemployment. After Haiti and Gayana we are on the same road to unemployment
and poverty. So unemployment and poverty cause crimes and choas in any country which is plague by corruption.e.g Zaire, Zimbawa, Darfure, Jamaica, Haiti,Gayana.Majority of crimes is cause by poor and unemployment youth and fathers who have to feed a family and cant get a job in there own country. Development comes with employment. And the policies of the government is to creat an environment for its people.

My dear ” Sesi” When you talk about making an example out of them so the future RESIDENTS will learn, Your statement is out of order. You should simple say that all our young people will learn not just the residents of MARIGOT. And farther more they didn’t KILL anyone.

Wow! thats the way for you Mr. James
you think people can commit crime and u can pay for all????

let them face their penalty and learn from their mistakes.

those who cannot hear r made to feel. so if they can’t behave themselves in society let them face their penalty.

    good is good
    evil is evil

while skerrit preaching peace in our beloved country ….YOU…. Mr. James paying the price for crime in society? hope they learn to be good men and women for people like us to look up to.
hope people like u Mr James can hold hand with Mr Skerrit and to contine to move Dominica forward.

we hate crimes let us be responsible people for all to see.
lets move Dominica to the next level
