    The DR was brutalizing and kicking out all Haitians about a year or 2 ago. why are we openly accepting them to stay here. Vacation is one thing but if you not a caricom national or have a valid work permit or residency permit they should be outted. Why are our Immigration officers only doing their work from behind desks? This country is too free. With absolute freedom comes absolute chaos. wait for it still.

    Dominica is now becoming a scary place – and i blame the way these kids are reared these days… in my days – and i\m early thirties – i never heard of these things there – now when on vacation – i see children with children, young kids pull up smoking, kids in uniform trolling the streets doing things i’d never do, kids cussing adults – old people…my cuz cussing my granparents, family fight against family….and i ask my mself – when do ppl blame the government?\

    I always heard that charity begins at home – well so to does discipline, love, respect… foundation for building strong producrive individuals

      @ Huh

      Something went wrong somewhere that children and grandchildren have no respect for their elders and cursing them. This is so sad. By the time those children grow up and have children I wonder what theirs will be like. Each generation gets worst than the previous ones.

    Dominica hard it’s ups and down, residing in the USA and seeing what is taking place there with them Spanish people, Dominica letting them into the island, all i have to say is Good Lord Look Upon Us

    If what I am reading is true that this individual is a National of the Dominican Republic, he need to be deported, because keeping him on the island is not good, more of them will enter

    There are Dominicans in the USA locked up in prison for many years as soon as they complete their prison sentence they will be heading back, deported to DA

    The authorities in Dominica need to do the same, if they have children in DA, send them back home with their children when them children reach the age of 18 or whatever as Dominican born they can come to DA

    Dominicans need to take back the island from the hands of the Devil, Lord heal our nation

      Dominica opening it’s door to all them spanish, Dominicans look out because them Spanish guys from the DR are trouble where ever they go, go to AMW and listen to news from the USA and Canada and you all will see and hear about them

      Many of them are criminals deported from the USA and Canada and they seek refuge in DA, soon they will bring their cartel style killing in DA, having DA papers or not they should deport them back where they come from, the very same way that Canada and the USA deporting them even though they become nationality by papers as they say in Canada, UK, and the USAthe government can always revoke that piece of paper

      Lord help us all

      I hope he is deported. If I recall last year a Haitian man was asked to leave DA for overstaying. He was hardworking and has a child. May this man who shot someone be deported without much ado. He should not even be tried but simply deport him.

    Skerrit is not telling no one to shoot or kill anyone. But right now what he should be doing as a prime minister is focusing more on security of the country. Hire some policemen for foreign countries to clean up the streets, cause basically Dominican Policemen is a waste of time.

    To ensure that people is easily capable of being enslaved or taken over, make sure that they have no right to bear arms and that they have no arms to bear. In other words they are defenseless.
    Criminals and the unstable will always be able to get guns. In communities throughout history, where the people are properly trained in firearms, crime is minimal.

    Dominica, please I beg of you. Pressure your lawmakers to stop the gun violence in your country or else you will suffer big time. It starts like this then lots of innocent people and children will suffer. Dominica is too beautiful to let it go like this. Vote them out if they are not working to correct crime. Dominica is one of the few places in the world that is peaceful. Do what you have to do to keep it that way while you are ahead of the game. Please!

    Listen, let face it. We know who the culprits are. In every village you know exactly who the trouble makers are, just turn them in. A lot of times families don’t want to talk because it’s their sons or daughters but ultimaltely they will suffer by the acts of their children. Lawmakers you included. Because is Mr so and so son then he gets away. You are setting a bad precedence. Let me tell you once you lose Dominica it’s gone forever. People of Dominica do not let the criminals take over or your peaceful lifestyle will be ruined forever.

      Skerrit is the leader… whenever a leader does not do what he is suppose to do these are the things that happen…. kinda like a parent not doing what they need to do and their children are caught acting a fool//// get it?

      • Justice and Truth
        July 10, 2012

        @ Ali

        The PM of a country cannot do everything. The Leader has his appointees in certain departments to perform their paid work. He also has his Cabinet members who will introduce bills, discuss it with him in Parliament and legislate what is necessary and important. They must also respect his decision.
        The Chief of Police could also play a part and communicate with the PM based on his duty and findings.
        If every one of them performs their duty, each in his/her own category, Dominica could become a safer place, free of such criminals and also certain migrants to DA. Therefore, do not blame the PM for everything and everything that goes wrong in DA. It is unfair. Hope you comprehend that.

    people with this kind of fire power don’t make mistakes about who they attack. When things are good they BLING together and when things turn sour they BANG and BOW at each other.

    Wrong conclusions are never good to come by but we have the responsibility to open our eyes and assess the reality on the ground.

    Remain cognizant of the fact that we need to continue to be our brothers keeper we need to assure ourselves continually that we have to work hard for what we want so our off-springs can follow in our foots steps and if that trend of self destruction continues the future is blique.

    I hope that the perpetrator will be caught. This tells us that such people do not worship God, do not pray, do not care about the life of others and not even their own. They do not care about their family, their feelings and what they will say about them including the society where they reside. They obviously do not want what is best for them or for anyone. How sad!
    If caught, no bail whatsoever for those who also carry guns and use them on nationals. Let there be no excuse for using guns. Guns injure and kill. Keep them incarcerated. Criminals forfeit their rights of freedom.

      @ GOM

      Today a thought crossed my mind that Chicago, U.S.A., has over 600 murders so far and as I heard on the News. I asked myself why can’t the U.S. Government and the Mayor of that City not curb and eradicate those murders.
      Think about it. Satan is rampant. The criminals/murderers are always a step ahead. Nevertheless, this is no reason not to try to curb this terror tide which takes some precious lives, injure others and place anxiety and fear in nationals.
      There are those who proudly state that they are atheists and sadly so for those who were brought up in the Christian faith and who call us, who are devoted to our faith and who practice our faith, derogatory names. These people are incapable of stabilizing and eradicating these criminal activities in DA. They are too bent on denouncing Christianity and destroying it. However, they will never succeed for God created the world, human beings and everything that is in it for our livelihood and enjoyment and one day, we will be judged by Him.
      It is important that those Christians who practice the faith, do their utmost to obey God’s Commandments, be loving and kind, prayerful, patient and with this godly spirit, ask God to help our country, convert us too (conversion is an ongoing process), to perfection and to convert those who commit crimes and murders and who are a menace to the DA community. For this we must pray and never cease praying.
      Those who commit crimes and who utilize guns are in dire need of God’s blessing and graces. They have gone astray and far from God to Satan, his influence and promptings. If they continue in this state they are destroying their life and soul and unto eternal destruction. Let us pray for them, for DA and for its nationals.
      I wish that when they are arrested and are imprisoned that the Word of the Lord would be taught and remind them about what it takes to be a law-abiding national and to lead a happy and peaceful life which lies only in God. Praise be to God!

    The drug war is getting real brutal and right there in our face. Vincy; Guada; Colombian and Venezuela type gangster, and now the Chinese like the one with the black jeep mixing up with our own so called drug men – the streets will soon become their battle ground people take warning.

    Watch the trend over the last four to five years:

    Men killed in Portsmouth; in Wesley and in Bense execution style;
    Three found dead in a boat two years ago no case no warrant;
    Peltier executed at Rodneys rock no trace no warrant;
    men kidnapped no trace;
    Men gone fishing and they just disappear no trace or they end up being caught with the catch of the day which does not include fish;
    Monga executed in high street no case no warrant;

    The you see men building big house, Have boat, have fancy motor cycle/bike and expensive ride still they working no where; never work in their life,all action it have they their. They even sponsoring village activities and political activities.
    Illegal Guns and amunition all over the place little seventeen and 18 year old boasting of having a gun or access to one or even carrying under under their shirt – recently in Pottersville there was evidence of that –

    The police seem to be powerless because according to the now retired commissioner – some police officers are in bed with the drug and arm dealers; but he could go further to say or confirm and to agree with what Behezien said -and also what Insector Weekes has said – that not only are there rotten police officers but also rotten politicians who facilitate the trade- I honestly thing the writing which has been on the wall for some time now is now becoming more visible like the neon signs – to a lot more peoplehowever some people including those in high office will continue to pretend that they do not see it..

      They are also in bed with seikko sekko. That’s why they refuse to seek seikko sekko. They made bubble gum out of the bubbles case. The black men are politically-corrupt slave masters to their own people using them to do do their dirty deeds.

      I will pay ten thousand ( $10,000 .00 ) dollars to you or anyone with information which can identify, and lead to an arrest of the murderer, or murderers of my nephew, who was found with his throat slashed in the village, about two years ago.

      His murderer is still out there at large: Someone confessed to his murder; the police rejected his confession, stating that he was incompetent, however, days later after the police deem him incompetent and let him walk, he also was found murdered whit his throat slashed in the same fashion my nephew throat was slashed.

      Be advised; do not suggest Vaughn ( Dods ) Dodds is, or was responsible for his murder, because at the time of my nephew’s murder Vaughn Dods was incarcerated waiting trial for every and all murders ever committed in the country.

      Whether is committed a crime or not, they pinned everything on him!

      No need to say that Vaughn was exonerated of all charges, and trust me the late grandfather of Vaughn was my late nephew, and I uncle.

      The bottom line is the person who murdered my nephew, is the same murderer who murdered the so called incompetent who took responsibility of killing my nephew, and is still walking the streets, of Wesley!

        Some of the known drug dealers sponsor bands, soccer tournaments, village feasts, etc. and the people accept this knowing that it’s coming from blood money that is paying for theis. We have to check our hearts. Righteousness exalts. Sin is a reproach. Do not sell your souls.

      Only to say that those who have licence firearms /guns are not the ones shooting and doing the killings; I am a licnse firearm holder for almost 25 years and I am yet to shoot at a man or to have shot a man. And I know many like me. It is the illegal ones you must address.

    Weh boy Dominica. I never believed that during my lifetime Dominica would have changed so abruptly.

    Sadly it is becoming routine for me hear bad news from Dominica, the shock effect is fast wearing out.

    Where did we go so wrong man? What could have been done? What needs to be done?

    I thank the LORD all the time that I was spared enough time to ask myself, ‘Am I part of the solution or part of the problem?’

    I wish the same for them yout man out there…

    • Justice and Truth
      July 11, 2012

      It is shocking. I can never get over what Dominica has become today.
      Nevertheless, the entire world is not what it was a few years ago.
      I recall when I came to Canada. We were so innocent and trusting. We would make friends easily even while traveling; always friendly and smiling; exchanging telephone numbers; going to parties even though we did not know the hostess. Friends would telephone and tell us about those parties and we would go. We made more friends. Nothing happened to us. There was no fighting; no guns; everyone having a good time enjoying the music, food and drinks. We had no reason to be suspicious of others. We returned safely.
      We would keep our doors unlocked or were not so quick to lock the doors. We would open them to strangers who knocked, be it a salesman.
      Coming home late at night, sometimes from studies was not a problem. We were not scared. It could be said that we were happy-go-lucky.
      Today, we cannot do that. Crimes/murders have increased and in a worst way. We are indeed living in sad and bad times. The more people have become lazy, idle and godlessness, selfish and self-centeredness, the more crimes/murders increase. Only our fervent prayers to God can protect us, keep us safe and grant us peace. God help us in the future.
