Police in Antigua say they are interrogating a number of persons as investigations into the gruesome murder of two Dominicans deepen.

“We are interrogating a cross-section of persons,” Police spokesman William Holder told Dominica News Online. “No arrests have been made as yet.”

He said the Antiguan police will continue to pursue the matter until those responsible are brought to justice.

Alix Riviere and Alwin Robin were shot execution-style last Friday in an area called Cedar Valley.

Riviere was found with his hands bound and he was severely beaten before he was killed. Robin, owner of Club DVD Sounds, had been in Antigua for about a week before the killing.

Dominicans pleased with outcome of murder investigation

By OBSERVER News – Tuesday, February 28th, 2012.

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Dominicans were on Monday expressing satisfaction with the arrest of four individuals held in the on-going murder investigation of 40-year-old Dorothy Prince who was shot and killed last week at the gas station where she worked.

Residents of neighbouring Dominica, the place where Prince was born, today called local talk shows to laud the Antiguan authorities for their quick action.

Carlisle Jno Baptiste, a journalist in Dominica, told The Daily OBSERVER that the news brought a sense of relief to family, friends and well-wishers back home.

“A number of persons called applauding the police for its swift work in getting at least four persons in custody and hopefully during the course of this week they expect these people to be charged,” Jno Baptiste said in a telephone interview from Dominica.

Jno Baptiste said, however, there is a level of disappointment that men linked to law enforcement are being implicated in the crime. He said he doesn’t expect the incident to sour the cordial relations between people of the two islands.

“So people called the radio talk show this morning applauding the police although they are extremely disappointed that a current and former law officer is implicated in the incident. Despite that people are expressing shock, dismay and are applauding the Antiguan authorities for the arrest of at least four persons in the matter.”

“I have not heard local authorities speak on the incident but I do not expect any negative implications in terms of friendship,” he added.

On Friday, police authorities confirmed that two members of the police force and two other men are being held in connection with the murder.

To the families of Bougg & Tosh my deepest condolences. Be strong but be patient. Vengence belongs to the most high. In due time he will present us with the fruits of our labour and deal with us accordingly. Its in our nature to be ungrateful. Remember man gets and forgets. Jah gives and forgives.

DNO, I read today in a Toronto Caribbean newspaper that they are cousins. The headline of the article read, “Dominican cousins killed in A&B” – Antigua and Barbuda.
The following are excerpts from the article: Their names, Dermouth Alix Riviere, 32-year-old resident of Antigua and Dominican businessman Alwin ‘Bougg’ Robin who was visiting the island.
Police authorities in Antigua and Dominica are still trying to piece together the puzzle of how the bullet riddled bodies of two Dominicans ended up at a house in Cedar Valley, Antigua, with no cars nearby… Also, repeated efforts by the home owner to reach Robin over a 24-hour period were said to have gone unanswered resulting in him asking a friend to check on the man. It was then the discovery of the bodies was made and police called to the scene.
It was stated, unconfirmed reports are that Riviere and Robin were cousins. I am speculating that:

    1. It appears the owner was not residing in the house. What type of house was that? Did he rent the house to other people previously?
    2. The murderer(s) had to drive up to the house. Tire marks could help and traced, if the ground was wet, i.e., if it rained. Antigua being relatively dry, this is not a possibility unless the ground was not paved.
    3. The murderer(s) may be professionals. The Antigua Police should also check airline records of arrivals, departures and destinations within a certain period. Antigua airport immigration would have a record of the nature of travelers’ visits. They could conduct an investigation on them especially if one or two men traveled together or by themselves. This includes especially hotels and where they stayed/visited in Antigua.
The murderer(s) could have arrived in Antigua and departed Antigua, the latter, soon after committing the murders.

Approximately two years ago the Ontario Police solved a high profile murder case which made headlines Canada-wide. The murder took place in winter. There were tire marks in the snow which they made note of. A neighbor was under suspicion. Some months later, at Christmastime, they conducted a random road spot check and stopped a man in a nearby area. His tires were examined. They caught their man. He was not the neighbor. He was sentenced to prison for approximately 25 years or more. There was more to that case. The nature of it was something else. He had a high profile position. Everyone was shocked. No one would suspect he could have done something like that. He was married to a high profile woman. His victim was not his wife and he did not know her.
I hope that the Antigua/Dominica Police investigations will prove successful. These people must be caught soon. May God help them to solve this case.

The devil is the father of lies, the great deceiver, the cunning one. Those who follow him and perform his evil works will receive the same recompense as he, Satan’s cauldron of everlasting fire, to burn forever. Satan is in this world to avoid burning in Hell. His day is coming where he will be chained forever by Our Lord Jesus Christ and St. Michael the Archangel.
We must inform criminals/murderers in no uncertain way about it for their own mortal and spiritual benefit that they may repent and turn to God. The world needs to get rid of them who are a menace to society. Let us keep informing them about it and never cease.
St. Paul said, “Shock them!” This is what the consistent word of God will do to them, shock them. Let them know that they will go to Hell for what they do to people of the world, no exception in Dominica, Antigua and elsewhere. Think also that if they live long what type of illness await them before they die and will be faced with God’s eternal judgment. We pray that God will put a hand soon.

    October 11, 2012

ok newest update. i spoke to one of the guys who worked on house that Alix was working on last Thursday before he disappeared. the guy said that Alix was building a pool for a house in the area nearby where they were found dead. when his phone rang , he took the call and then told the other workers that he had to step away for a while. that was the last time they saw Alix alive. Therefore, Alix quite likely knew his killer or killers

  12. budman
    October 11, 2012

okay, i checked the Antigua Observer this morning and apparently, whenever Alwin visited Antigua he would usually stay at that house where his body was found. This naturally suggests that his killers knew exactly where to find him. It suggests to me that he was the real target. what i don’t get is where does Alix Riviere enter the picture. his car was found abandoned in the neighbouring area, which means he was taken to the house by his captors. the other bit on info this morning was that the Police believe that there were more than the 35 kilos of drugs that they found at the house. the Police said that they noticed some bags were nearly empty. this seems to agree with what some posters on DNO mentioned earlier that they thought perhaps there was more. So that leaves me with a couple of questions:
(1)Did the killers move some drugs with the intention to come back for the rest later not expecting that the bodies would have been found so soon?

    (2) Did Alwin steal drugs and move it to the house?

    (3) was this initially a drug investigation and the police had them and the house under surveillance and when they went inside looking for drugs they found bodies s well?

    • Sure
      October 27, 2012

Shoocking to find out that the drugs were not real, and they were panted on the scene!….Also, this morning the Antigua news revealed that the caretaker of the house was brought in upon the advice of his lawyer ( he is a member of the antigua police force)!
I knew all along that this was a set-up……pure jealousy in the plot to kill Alwin, and my innocent Alex had to take the fall for this….God is love, He is just, and He isn’t a police!!!
Justice has to prevail sooner rather than later.

they kill our boss but thats not the end will find out who did this………..allu thing is so….

  14. October 10, 2012

Alex was called from his job or rather lured from his job and kidnapped, which must have been by someone he knew. One Marigot man was used to find the other. Who is the Devil’s advocate here? Is it another Marigot man? Hmmm! Alex was killed because he knew the killers starting on the Judas who called him and lured him into that situation that led to his death. The only reason, he was killed. Had they been perfect strangers, he would have not been killed. This is a young man who had just gotten married two months ago. He worked hard, he did it right, he had a vision for his life and family. Never had any drug history or run ins with the law. He protected his reputation, by being a good law abiding citizen, to be tarnished at death by the Judas who abducted, the Devil’s boyfriends who murdered him and the the Dominican Scribes and Pharisees who accused and condemned him. I wonder how many of you said a little prayer for his family particularly his young son who needs the directive hand of his father. How many of you prayed for your children? Those old Catholic Mass still work wonders and their families know how to pray. Nuff candle everywhere and they amking them in Dominica. Pilgrimage to the rescue.

    • Sure
      October 28, 2012

i couldn’t agree with you more!
But you see, some of us Dominicans are very jealous of hard-working young individuals who choose to build a good life for themselves instead of using their money to party and show off…..thus the reason we’ll take any and all opportunity to tarnish another’s reputation, even we know in our hearts, that this individual is clean and blame-free.
God is good all the time, even in the bad and difficult times such as these.
We love Alex, always will, and know that he didn’t have anything at all to do with drugs….that’s why our constant pain and cries, and prayers will bring us justice….we believe there’s a God above, and Alex trusted very much in Him too!
If you live in a glass house, try not to throw stones!……life is surely a funny thing.

Sometimes our loved ones are involved in activities that are criminal and illegal. They were drug dealers why everyone seems to forget or neglect that fact. Drug dealers sell drugs to our young and destroy their lives, they are constantly attracted by making large sums of money in the hope of living lavish lives. But there is a price to be paid for all wrong, even the persons who killed them . God is just and he constantly admonishes us to do good at all times!

That’s where you are wrong. You dont have to be under arrest to be interrogated. If it’s routine, there is no need for an arrest. Furthermore, what is the reason for Dominican police to go to Antigua to investigate? The crime was commited in Antigua, let the Antiguan police investigate. If they require help from another country, then they will ask.

I do not dream often. I am not a fanatic about dreams and do not have a dream book. There are times I remember my dreams and other times I do not. Last week, prior to reading this sad news of the two Dominicans, I had a dream that someone died. I saw the small church where the funeral was conducted. I went to the funeral. I recall entering the small church. Strange, I cannot recall knowing if it is a man or a woman.
While on our way to the funeral and entering the church, I saw some people kneeling in an open space close by praying as if their church was under construction or so I thought in the dream.
I related the dream to someone who told me that someone got married. The person was sort of shocked to hear about my dream. We said that we hoped it is not someone whom we know. I replied, I have heard that if one dreams of death, it is a wedding and if a wedding it is a death and so I did not give it a thought.
After reading of their sad deaths on DNO I reflected on the dream and thought, I wondered if this had any bearing on the death of those two men. Only God knows.
The first time I read of it on DNO, it had an effect on me that people could be so wicked to do such a thing to their very own on the island. That night I had a dream I saw a man with the same pigmentation as Alix Riviere. He looked well. He was sitting quietly at a table as if it was at work. We briefly spoke but it was simply an ordinary conversation. As with dreams, I awoke from it and fell asleep again. This one I remembered well enough.
As a Catholic, I always pray for the departed souls and when I hear or read that someone dies, I say an Eternal Rest for the person. I did likewise for the two DA men more than once. It could have been in my subconscious mind but there are times I dream of the departed but they are never scary dreams; always good ones. Reason is, I remember them in my prayers. My hope is that God has both of the men in His care.
It is not the first time I have dreamt and that the dream somewhat comes true. Some dreams I call ‘my significant dreams’. I never forget those dreams and can vividly recall them. Some of them are religious ones.
In the month of November the Catholic Church will be specifically remembering the departed souls. A book which is called the Book of Life is placed near the Altar and those whose relatives and friends departed from December 2011 to November 2012, their loved ones will write their names in the book. So far this year quite a few people I know passed on, younger and older. I have a list and will add their names to it.
It does not matter if the departed are not Catholic Christians or that they did not go to church. We are all God’s children. God is the Judge of mortals and of souls. I leave this up to him.
They are remembered daily during all the Masses in November (also throughout the year). Then on one of the Saturdays in early November, a special Mass will be held for them. I usually attend. We do what we have to do baste on our beliefs and devotions. God hears those prayers and petitions. They are never wasted prayers. He will do with the prayers as He wills. May God be praised.
This is one of the prayers I learned from childhood: “Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have pity on the dying.” It is a prayer anyone can say wherever they may be.
We also pray, “Eternal rest grant unto them O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen!
May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen!”
God is pleased with these prayers. We are also recipients of our prayers and our good works performed in Jesus Name.

Read patiently. Patience is a virtue. Virtue is a grace, a godly one.
Earth is a preparation for eternity. You know The Ten Commandments of God and what is contained in Holy Scripture as the Church teaches. It is absolutely necessary to practice them. They are conditions for obtaining eternal salvation. Patience is one of them. It is one of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and one of the Fruits of the Holy Spirit. If we do not practice it we oppress the Holy Spirit in us. We should strive for earthly perfection. I wish that everyone would practice it. The world would be a happy, peaceful and safe place to live. Everyone would live in harmony and peace with one another. This is my goal and to teach it to others as you for their earthly and heavenly benefit.

Never get tired of hearing the Word of God, what He has taught us, what He expects of us, what it entails to live a happy and peaceful life and to generate it to others. Then, what it entails to obtain His glorious Kingdom of everlasting bliss. O Happy Day!
If some people are critical of those who so inform them, priest or laity and do not want to hear about it on this earth, they might as well make up their mind that they will never see God. Therefore, whatever you say and do ensure that it is godly and God will be pleased with you for what you do and say as imbedded in your heart, mind and thoughts. Always keep this in mind. God is using his people, the willing ones, to do good in the world. When we die, we will know how well we did. We should not wait until then but ensure that while God gives us life, health and strength we do good and work for His Kingdom lovingly, a condition for obtaining eternal salvation. This is the ultimate goal.

        @ budman

Reading is an education in itself. 5 minutes could be ‘a holy hour’ of prayer, penance and sacrifice. Ever thought of that?
By what some of you state, you will not make good friends, neighbors and co-workers. You are too miserable.
Consider what you can learn from it. Take an interest in other’s writing as you expect them to take an interest in yours and to respond amicably. This is the Golden Rule.
Be less critical and more encouraging. It is the little godly things that we do and say which make us true children and disciples of God. Little things mean a lot. When will some people learn that for their own good? Are you not practicing Christians? How do you hope to please God and to go to Heaven otherwise?

      1) It is appointed to man once to die after that is the judgment…

      2) There’s no repentence in the grave…

Your prayer for the departed can’t do anything for their souls!!! Everyone has to repent for themselves!!!!!!

Here is the pot calling the kettle black. You are another one.  With that type of inconsiderate and crude statement, where do you think your soul will end up when you die? You have much to learn to be loving, amicable to others who comment. Are you that way in your personal life? This is what you project.

i try to understand what u’r trying to say, but why pray for the dead? the dead know nothing instead pray for their family to have strength to deal with their death. prayers cannot do nothing for a dead person, they had to make their choices and decisions while they were alive. May their souls rest in peace

The poor men. How they suffered and knowing that they were at the mercy of those murderers and that they would be killed. The more I think of it, the more it makes me sad to visualize what they went through prior to being murdered.
The person who owned the house/property will be questioned. No mention of this one so far.
Land line phones, all cellular, blackberry, ipods, cellular etc., should be examined. The providers could give this information.
Hand, fingers and footprints on the premises should be conducted. I hope the Antigua police do not leave one stone unturned. May the murderer(s) be caught soon. Heartless people.

I wonder if you have not been stealing, lying, cheating, selling alcohol or protituting.. They paid the dues with their lives already if it was as u speculating. This does not mean that justice should not prevail. The crime may as well be on you or someone close just because u look at them too hard if we allow excuses or rationalize when one should be murdered. Let God be the judge for us all.
