John Seaman sent to jail for five years

High Court fineThree months after he begged the court for “a final chance” when he was found guilty of burglary, John Seaman is back in court again.

This time for sentencing and he has been given a five-year sentence for breaching a court order.

He was arrested by the police and brought to court where an October 2015 sentence was revoked.

In October 2015, Seaman, pleaded guilty to burglarizing the business place of A&M in Canefield, in July 2011.

Seaman, 54, a father of four, is no stranger to the court with a list of over 40 convictions; 19 of them for theft. He was able to persuade Justice Errol Thomas, in his mitigation, for a suspended sentence.

He told the court then, that at the time of the incident he was coming from work and he was “hungry” with nothing to eat.

“I took what I wanted to eat but God has changed by life,” he said. “I can feel it I know that I was wrong and so God told me to plead guilty, I have lied enough, I want to make a difference in life.”

According to him, having been at the state’s prison for the past 15 months, he has had time to reflect and is now a changed man.

“Please give a suspended, my term is almost ended, I beg you for mercy … praise God my life is changed,” he continued.

Seaman was given a five-year jail sentence suspended for three years.

“If you commit any offense you will be arrested and brought back to be sentenced to jail for five years. You must have a conscience; you are talking about God, God. You have children, this is your last chance,” Judge Thomas stated.

At the opening of the January Criminal Session, Seaman was brought to court for sentencing and was sent for five years with time spent on remand.

The court was not told why he was rearrested by the police.

It is easy to say he wants to change and will change, to the point of mentioning the Most Holy Name of God. Were there mere words with no substance?
People do not change like that. As the saying, a leopard does not change its spots overnight.
While in prison, I hope he reflects and is serious about changing as he said. It takes much for a person to change for bad habits are difficult to change. He has to keep trying. He needs a mentor to assist him. He obviously needs the blessing and grace of God to make a complete change.

I am sorry to learn that John Seaman was back in court and has been sentenced to five years.

It seem this man truly believed he had changed his ways. He mentioned God and on the surface he seems genuine. God may yet turn Mr. Seaman’s life around.

I have known of what they call “jail house conversions”. There seems to be two types.

Some men honestly do encounter Christ in jail and are “born again”. One man – a serial killer – was serving a life sentence and had nothing to gain by faking conversion. He was genuinely saved and transformed by the grace of God. He is still in prison after decades. But now he is a Christian worker and responsible for much of the chaplaincy program.

Others simply make up heir minds to do better but fail. Some go through a formal man made program but God is not in it and sadly any change does not last. But there is a real thing. God does change lives today :!:

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

Are you serious, not when that individual violated your home, you only get peace when these guys are put away.

        Victimized:

It seems we are talking about two different things here.

        (1) I did not say a murderer should walk free.

A murderer or any other criminal should face justice. Personally I am in favor of the death penalty for deliberate murder. Not all governments agree. I also believe the death penalty should be available for those who commit other serious crimes that ruin a life or plunge a family into grief. This should be decided by the jury after all the facts are heard,

        (2) God is able and willing to forgive a murderer who repents and receives Christ as his (her)
personal Savior. This does not mean the individual is excused from paying the penalty passed down upon him by human justice. The serial killer I told you about is still in prison after many years. But God has saved him and his life is different now.

        The Bible clearly says

“…the blood of Jesus Christ (God’s) Son cleanseth us from ALL sin.” (1 John 1:7)

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

        Dan Tanner:

        Thanks for noticing :!:

We continue to reach around the world with a message and ministry that has power to change lives today because the blood of Jesus Christ has never lost its power.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new. And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given unto us the ministry of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:17,18)

Where is the justice? Curt the criminal and well known serial rapist was able to roam the streets yet people who commit small crimes are punished harshly. Im in no way condoning theft however big time criminals are not dealt with. It took another country’s police force to deal with the menace. The police force needs a real shake down.

Because the small crimes rob the government of VAT, they get punished harshly. Murder and rape, etc, and robbery against other than shops, and major drug dealing – they are looked on kindly by a corrupt court system
