I remember the days when people would make threats and say “I just doing whatever and go jail and sit down.” Guess what, now they are actually doing just that because the punishment for crimes are so minimal that it causes nothing to deter prospective criminals.

Another murder in D/ca. How sad. To my knowledge this is the third one and we are a few days away from mid-January.
Why would the murderer do such a thing? What satisfaction was derived by killing a brother, a fellow Dominican? I hope he is caught and that the Court deals with him as he deserves.
How sorry I am to know that the victim just returned from Tortola. If only he knew he would have remained there.
My heartfelt sympathy to his family. God who knows it all, why your loved one was murdered and who murdered him, is consoling you and giving you the strength to cope in your moments of grief. May your loved one’s soul rest in God’s peace. Amen! Lord have mercy!

Most times it is a small minority of the population who spoil our country’s name. There seems to be an escalation of serious crimes in the region. Example T&T, St.Lucia and even in D/A.It’s a fulfillment of Bible prophesy;”Wicked men and seducers shall wax worse and worse.” Both our crime prevention methods and crime detection seem to be weak in the region. Therefore, the citizenry needs to learn to avoid conflicts which will result in senseless deaths. One of the chief functions of government is to provide safety for its citizen. These are the things that our policy makers need to discuss, find solutions for and try their utmost to reduce the number of crimes in the region.Ultimately, God is on the throne and we ought to fear HIM.

Fellow Dominicans, I keep reading over and over that we need change in Dominica–unfortunately the change that you all are calling for is the change of men and women with authority and leadership in our country.

I am saying unfortunately, because that is not the change that will be effective for the welfare of our Dominica–the change that is so badly needed must come from within each and everyone of us; it is the change for Life and not the continuous action of death that is so rampant among us. There is no “political giant” who will be able to provoke the desire for that change in us–we make up our minds for the desire to change.

When we have people with no respect for the Life of their fellow man–to the point that they can use a knife, a cutlass, a gun or any of those other weapons of death, as if they were using a toy to play with people’s Life–we have to acknowledge that those people are not acting as human beings; those people need to be put away until it is time for them to return to their primary form of dust–God is very unhappy with the conducts of these people.

As human beings we were given the ability of “reasoning”–yes we can experience all the emotions that is bad for us–but that is the reason we need the virtue of “self-control” it is one of the nature of God’s Holy Spirit–He who created us to live through Love.

As human beings we are not supposed to act like the lower animals, the way that so many of us are doing, for we do not want to be treated like them.

And so, Dear God I call for Your mercy and compassion of Love, on behalf of the innocent and ignorant of fellow Dominica–I ask that You will deliver them from the evil wrath of those who do not know You and Your ways of Life in Love–I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, who is Your Person in Love. Anen!

They are killing young and old. I am a pure DOMINICAN, and we should not talk about any other countries with their crimes, and we have a handful of people and crime is hitting the roof? What madness and lawlessness and no one in big position is talking. We parents are just as bad, because we don’t say nothing. Our children, if they are bad, they are bad. Cane and Abel is still around. Let us don’t say nothing and we will see the outcome of our country.

Where is the Prime Minister of Dominica? Where are the Ministers of Dominica? Where are the Pastors, Preachers, Priest’s, President. All those people in high positions, why are they not keeping rallies, and matching, etc.,to denounce these crimes in DOMINICA. If they are not slaying noting, that means that are condoning it. Silence is just as bad.

Less than 80,000 people in a small country and such high brutal crimes every day. Everyone wants to be in power, but if they don’t denounce these crimes, sooner or later, it will be affecting those people in high position, and it will be too late. I am a Dominican in my 50’s and never see lawlessness in my country like that. Too much cover ups. Criminals are criminals, they don’t care who is in their way, they will cut you off in a heart beat. Sad, sad, sad. See what happened in Salisbury a few days ago. Mass gun men in SUV holding up people in big day light. Lord, look madness.

And if we don’t protect our police officers, you thing they will want to go out of their way to fight crimes? They are people and they have families. Government take a bold stand against crime, and arm your first responders immediately.
Criminals are more armed than your police officers? What a shame. Well look row-row. Lord we need you if our Government cannot help us.

When the perpetrator(s)is caught the individual(s)will no doubt be out again amongst us “on bail.” Now, tell me who is to be blamed? If the Government is incapable of curbing violence in that small Island with merely 80,000 people, what’s going to happen in Dominica when all dem foreigners with Dominican passport descend on the Country to reside? My guess is that blood will flow like water. Just last night a couple of us sat at a friends home and were talking of how nice and safe our Country was. Now Dogs are ruling our streets.

Homicide: when an enemy smack you on one check you turn the other cheek.when you sense trouble you walk away. They willfully, malicious and felonious set out to kill because they went for the throat.crime of such should be treated as emergency by the courts. These people who committed homicides,do they have a family themselves.I am so confused and disbelief.I cannot find the right word to express my sorrow

Do not turn this article and your comment into a war of words and set one religion and its beliefs against another. The usual with some of you. This is not the time for it. Save it for another time and somewhere else.
You correct others but you are oh so wrong. Jehovah is your view. It is not our Christian view and teaching; not the view of the Christian Church and of the Christian world. Therefore, do not force it, your beliefs and teaching down our throats.
When you stand before Our Lord Jesus Christ for your judgment, you will find out. He is Our Lord, King and Savior.
These are the words of Our Lord Jesus Christ; his very own words and teaching:
John 3:16:19 – For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the Name of the only Son of God” – Our Lord Jesus Christ.
We call our Heavenly Father, Our Almighty Father, one and the same.
