The lead investigator in the Soufriere family murder trial, Corporal Clifton Jno Baptiste, has completed his testimony and the court will today take the jury to the place where the incident occurred in September 2010.
Lauretta and Herbert Xavier and Manuella Williams have been charged with murder following an altercation with their brother Harrison Williams which resulted in his death. The incident occurred in September 2010.
On day three of the trial Cpl Jno Baptiste told the court he had conducted a question and answer with Herbert Xavier who stated that he and the deceased (Harrison Williams) had stopped talking because of a plywood issue.
Xavier he said admitted to placing a drum in the road which caused a blockage and stated that his brother (the deceased) Harrison came out of his truck, took a piece of 2×2 wood and struck him with it. He said a struggle ensued and he took the wood and struck the deceased on his head.
“My sister Loretta then came to pull me from him and asked him to leave the yard….I hit him and he fall in the drain and I send the 2×2 after him and it break and fall in the drain,” Xavier told the police.
His sister Manuela, in a question and answer, told the police that she saw her two brothers, Harrison (deceased) and Herbert (co-accused), in an argument and told Loretta about it and Loretta went in search of peace between the two.
She told the police that she saw the deceased enter his vehicle and returned with a piece of stick stating “I have to kill all you…” She said a fight followed and she started to scream, “Help, help, help…police. I never had stick and never left my home.”
Loretta in her question and answer to the police said it was about 8:30pm on September 24, 2010 and she was at her home when she heard a loud noise and saw her two brothers in a quarrel and went to part them.
She stated that the deceased pushed her away and she fell in a nearby gutter sustaining injuries to several parts of her body.
In a statement given to the police, which was admitted in evidence and read to the jury, Loretta said, “I am telling the truth, from the gutter I see someone hit Harrison with a piece of stick. He fell on his face. I tried to wake up to help him but could not…the same person hit him again. I screamed ‘help, help.’ The person hit him again. I called ‘Harrison, Harrison.’ No answer. Took the person in the yard and heard that Harrison had died.”
Meantime, the stick that was alleged to have been used to hit the deceased along with the clothes he was wearing on the dreadful evening of September 24, 2010 was submitted as exhibits and now forms part of the case.
Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Gene Pestaina along with state Attorneys Clement Joseph and Arthlyn Nesty are leading the state’s case.
The case is presided over by Justice Brian Cottle.
The trial will enter into its fourth day on Thursday March 8, 2012.

Could someone tell me where was the wife at the time of the incident? Was she in the vehicle with the daughter and the deceased? Why didn’t she tell him don’t,it’s not worth it. Don’t you think the deceased would be still there?

My question is who is the other person that hit him on the road. If is only once Herbert hit him what about the broken ribs he got. He was severely beaten how did that happen.

Well is not the lady judge that there so let me see..what the verdict.. and sentencing will be (if necessary).
It appears that everything is being well orchestrated here. All 3 defendants seems to be aware of how they should give their story. I think they are looking to free the two sisters and the brother might get away with “self defense” since he admitting he hit him after getting hit.
One sister come to share, some sister turned blind and couldn’t see. I should be on that jury team. All 3 going up and I not changing my mind no matter what the other jurors say.
