One individual is in police custody as investigations continue into the armed robbery of Sukie’s gas station.
Police PRO John Carbon told Dominica News Online that the police made an arrest on Monday afternoon and the individual is currently being questioned in relation to the crime.
However, since no charges have been laid against the individual, his name cannot be revealed.
Between the hours of 9:00 am and 10:00 am a lone robber with a helmet and a mask on a grey scooter, entered the station, held up the female gas attendant and robbed the establishment.
The attendant was robbed of money at gunpoint while at the cash register and the robber made his escape on the scooter which was parked nearby.
The police later found the scooter and a helmet not far from the petrol station.
Shake him up! Btw, DNO I think you should do some coverage on the war in Syria, since World War 3 is probably approaching if the Us actually attacks Syria.
garcon what you talking about Syria and US and world war three Dominica have its own war going on wee – and is change we want now.
When they plan to steal and carry it out, they are taking a chance of being caught. Seek employment. No matter how small the income, it is still worth it. You will not be nervous, looking over your shoulders with the fear of being arrested, hauled before the Court and imprisoned.
Let the punishment fit the crime. Too often they are bailed which is why they keep stealing from hardworking people. Let them learn a good lesson that they might never again resort to crime.
Leave people’s property alone and go in search of yours by working for it.
Do not be lazy. Live a worthy life. You will be happy and peaceful for it.

OMGUHHH!!! Dominica’s dumbest robbery ever!
Good that he is caught. Generally, thieves/
criminals are dumb. Dumb to be stealing from people and committing other crimes, jeopardizing their future, their life, their good name and reputation. They have lost their freedom. How more dumb could they be?
i knew he was a dumb criminal, it’s a miracle he did not write his name on the bike.
I agree. And on the helmet. Petty criminals who don’t want to work…
Blame the government :lol
hahaha
why you all are not showin the face of the person.that,s why i like the U.S no time to hide face no matter who you are.
ADMIN: Even in the US the face of the person is not shown unless the person is charged.
This is correct. Also in Canada.
Hello admin. If someone is arrested in NYC and its news worthy then their photograph is release to the press. I was with NYPD for twenty four years and I know we release people photo when they are arrested. Just look at the New York Post front page today 8-28-13. If the Dominica Police Department release someone photo when they are arrested then that isn’t wrong because that person was arrested so I can’t see how that person can win a lawsuit against the Police. I would simply go to court and asked that person if they were arrested.
You may have a point. In most cases, there are times that their names and pictures are withheld until they are arrested and charged.
There are exceptions. If their faces appear on a camera system where they committed the crimes; if someone alerted the police about them and gave their names and if they are known to the police. Otherwise, the Media will not post, publish or broadcast their names with pictures on the advice of the Chief of Police. There must be a good reason for doing so or not.
There are times the police may think they caught the right people (person). They are interrogated and then released for either insufficient evidence, none at all or mistaken identity. Each country may have a different system. I reiterate there are always exceptions.
I would think only Dominican some)residents would be interested in knowing their names or seeing their faces for obvious reasons.
For us or some of us who reside abroad, it really does not matter if the names and faces are not posted. They do not mean anything to us especially if we do not know them. In most cases, we do not, if not at all.
We are happy that they are caught for the happiness, peace of mind and safety of especially law-abiding Dominicans.
DNO your reply is garbage. You have never been to the us or see local us news.Faces are shown all the time.
Hello that person who wrote that disclaimer don’t know what they are talking about. I don’t think that person watch any American news or ever reside outside of Dominica.
You are a bold, disrespectful and crude person. Why did DNO allow your garbage to be posted? You are fortunate that it was posted.
if is one thing i don’t like you all are not showing the face of the rubber so that people can look out for him a next time give the U.S no time to hide face of any one
I did say the culprit will be caught, prosecuted and sent to the slammer. And so it is!
They will never learn. Same difference with the thugs in the Atl Ga. They invade homes, carjack, kill, steal, then only to be caught on candid camera followed by the police. What a world eh.
at 9am in the morning on a scrooter where can you hide
I can imagine what his lawyer will say: well he is good guy who visited church at least 9 times a day, loves his grandma and its society to blame that he is such a###le and judge will tell: but of course my dear…bail granted!!!! pure dominica 100%
His lawyer will plead for him “guilty but insane”
According to Mr. Winston this was all captured on Video and it was observed that that individual was casing the joint .He must have been captured earlier with no helmet on.
We have been told that Video and photos are now acceptable as evidence so should be a piece of cake to get a conviction.Mr. Winston(Sukie) works too hard for someone to just take the results of his work.
I hope he does good time for brandishing a firearm!
Only a fool would do a dum thing like that…….
To much TV…….
His mastermind plan was to fill up his scooter fist then rob the gas station.
Having forgotten one minor detail, his scooter ran out of gas “not far away from the petrol station.”
Hahahaha I love that one
good work!
dem dere a rubberband crooks!!!!!
