The police have charged a man with murder in connection with the killing of John ‘Ferdie’ Blaize, a bus driver from Layou.
43-year-old Gerard Tony Etienne of Fond Cole is now on remand at the state’s prison.
He appeared in court on Monday.
He is represented by attorney at law, Zena Dyer.
Preliminary inquiry into the matter is set for August 13, 2013.
Blaize was found around 11:30 pm on Wednesday April 17, in a pool of blood at his house in Layou.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The police said Blaize had injuries to his head.
i hope he see’s blaize spirit haunting him in his cell till he go mad and i hope they hang him so that he can feel the same pain blaize felt when he killed him and that justice will be served for blaize
that baby the parents say that fall from the steps police need to investigate. police do your job well. too often baby dying accidently and no one is charged. baby is fighting for his life at PMH

We need rehab for dem fellas.
young man exhale before you find yourself in jail
Dominican Judicial System: Possession of a controlled substance: Many years behind bars.
Conviction of Murder in any degree: Get out of jail free card.
Truer words…have never been spoken.
U forget ministers thiefing lying, it is OK with dem.
dont you all think they should bring back hanging
that way we can get rid of the bad eggs,
the justice in dominica ENCOURAGE the criminality, every time a murder get bail, another crime following. When u go court in dominica and u are the victim, they make u pass for a criminal. THE JUSTICE IN DOMINICA IS THE BIGGER KILLER !!!
Evil stalks this land. Greed has become our creed, paranoia our diet and disrespect our latest fashion. Who is going to redeem us?
I hear this request as one made by the Apostle PAUL WHEN HE CRIED OUT FOR HELP. Who shall deliver me from the body of this death, he cried. But his concluding verdict was, Thanks be to God for His son Jesus Christ. Sear this is our only hope
O that is true not Dominica alone all over the the world, Caribbean kids, those key words is their name, wat a shame, blows I think will free them, back to the old days, when u get blows for those things, god help them. Pls.
I am deeply saddened that yet another Dominican resident lost his life. What did he do to that man who murdered him? This is what Dominicans want to know. They hear of people murdered, perpetrators arrested but they may not hear the reason why they were murdered. On occasion those murderers are bailed out.
Court System, I am warning you, when you allow murderers out on bail you are answerable to no other than God who wants his children to live in happiness and peace, free of fear of those who are governed by Satan, the detractor and destroyer of our souls, who govern those criminals/murderers.
Dominica is a small country. People should be living in love, happiness, peace and harmony. These escalating murders should not be allowed to continue. Those who commit crimes must pay the price – lifetime sentence with no parole. The death penalty should be restored.
Smh! Tipical dominica ike to run their mouth
I’m glad someone is arrested for murdering this man. I hope his not back on the street on bail. Too many killings in the place the system should handle this more seriously.
People need the Lord
sorry wicked
. the law punishes a human hard for a little five bag, and on the other hand the one who created the worst act, which have murdered an innocent person is setted free. the law needs to put a change to this and put it the other way around. R.I.P blaize, we are already missing you, you will remain in our hearts!!!!!
Rest in peace Blaize, you were such a kind and jovial man…my deepest sympathy goes out to your family and may they find peace and trust in The Lord for He knows best…….you will surely be missed……REST IN PEACE.
i hope blazie come to him in his jail cell
awa we boy
Government has nothing to do with this satanic act. You give them jobs but they rather to sit and smoke and think of the next person to target. My beautiful country has become like the rest of the world. The Devil is working overtime and the system is too lenient.
this man looks like he has just been resurrected from the dead. My God what a horrific face!! This man needs a facelift! Hopes he gets one in the jail. Damn
Goodwork toour police force althoughmost of the time they slow….. Wish the family of Blaize greatest sympathy. and will surely miss you especially late nights when it have a big event somewhere around Dominica.
by tomorrow he out.
Waiting to see the defence Ma Dyer going to put up for you. Weh, weh, weh!
Largent ca faire bagai!!
Fox, boy, back in the days you used to be real cool, what happen? Did that gangster lifestyle get to you? Dominican youths stay away from that gangster lifestyle and mentality, you will regret it in the end.
Cudos to the law enforcement…
Now we hope that Blaize’s family can receive justice from our justice department
Skerro give dem jobs.. Tim Tim give dem jobs..Ambi give dem jobs, can’t u see the people crying for help, make Dominica proud and change course make a difference in the lives of your people. It is not about getting rich think of your people. Do some good for the country of your birth, GIVE DEM JOBS, so crime can stop!!!!!
some lazy people will still expect the hard working people to work hard while they sit twentyfour hours on their lazy a(thinking of where you hide your money and how they going to kill you to get it)
You hit the nail on the head.
Too many no counts that want to steal from others and are too lazy to work and if they do work, don’t do good work and don’t care. So who wants to hire them again…..nobody in their right mind.
why he cant/couldnt go and educate himself and get a job??? so ppl in government that cause him to kill??? go throw urself somewhere!! stupid
What kind of gibberish statement is that? Just because there are no jobs does not give a man the right to go and murder another man.
AMBI give them jobs. Come Montego Bay in Newtown and you will see the highest rate of misery and unemployment in the West Indies. So mani pips on d road in Harlem and the Parl Rep is so invisible. I hope Skerro doh send mister up again. WE don’t want AMbrose George.
Let us join hands with DNO to fight down crimes.
Mori u have a point if Gerard Tony Etiene was pre-occupied with positive things he won’t be in trouble with the law, but i cannot see how Govt can give them jobs only the private sector can grow and economy i guess Skerrit could improve the standard of living of Dominicans by lowering taxes and easing the laws for business.
A man kills another and this is what you are stating? You know that some of them are lazy and only want to live the leisure life, sometimes, living off others. Examine your conscience.
You have a severe mental problem. You do not think straight. Put the blame where it belongs.
Why do you not tell the criminals to turn to God, recognize him, worship him, pray to him, have respect for others and their life and perform acts of love? Dominica would be a better, safer and happier place if they did.
They are the ones causing havoc in Dominica and placing fear in others, stealing and committing murders. They must bear the responsibility of their actions.
I expect nothing positive from ignorant people like you. Why can’t you for once, post something positive? Go find yourself a job or better yet, if you have one, help a brother/sister ….create some employment for others too. It does not have to be Skerro, Tim Tim and other politicians responsibility….it’s all of us!
43 years ….look more like 103…
Life without parole.
great jobs gus keep it up keep finding those brats. now find who burn de man house and almost kill he and his wife. allu people eh..i know allu already knoww who
good job keep it up..now find who almost kill man and his wife
so how they finding those culprits so fast nuh and up till now they cannot find who attempted to murder emmanuel and his wife in a house with fire..ehe eh..i am glad they find the culprit and hope he gets what he deserves…a dead man tells no tale so he can say what he want he have no right to take the man life he did not give him.
we need more men like this wen we start to riot on election day … we have to start the resistance.
Are you a practicing Christian? How far do you expect rioting to take you and others who would participate in it? Take this out of your head. It serves no good purpose and will only get you and others who would be involved in trouble with the law.
2 days in jail wii.. with $2.00 bail… watch and allu will see…
hang em high
He will soon be out on bail.
Let us hear and see.
good going…god isn’t asleep, thank god blaize can finally rest in peace
DAT is something else
anuda bad name for us again
TOO MUCH BLIGHT FOR FOND COLE
ALLU not listening fellars
Cool out
violence and crime don’t pay
remember MAMA and then all u cannot do dem tings
Now when we get into trouble we have “MAMMY BAWLING”—–hunter was not wrong !!!!! WE not listening! STOP DEM GANGSTER LIFE>>>>>>>OUR kids are left fatherless ,with no protection when we on the rest or cemetery or hospital.
If we love our family we have to change our lives……some of us go GWADA and kill, rape, steal, do drugs, prostitute and all kinds of crime…and we come back Dominica BLINGING…with BLOOD ON OUR HANDS;;;;;DEM CHAINS AND BIKES AND LOTS OF “DIRTY MONEY”–some of allu does BORGAR for it also.
JAH is no police! He watching all of us and those parents and girlfriends and families and friends that accepting them BLOOD MONEY Pupa Jah watching us and dem things will fall back on our kids if we don’t go on our knees and ask Jah for forgiveness.
Some of us hate the government and still want to depend on that same government to help us and choose to do nothing productive or positive. Government cana do everything and some of us too lazy to work legally but have all the energies to break the law…wicked we wicked. Some people work real hard to make it in life ; for others to just thief them; that aint right. How can we support somebody enter our place rape our women, steal our property, murder and harm us and return to Dominica to live in luzury as kings…? That cannot be ok Nahhhhhh!
WELL SAID
God is patient! He is patiently waiting as we are aging and also when we die.
Our Lord said to a visionary which is a message for all of us: “They will not be able to hide. He will find every one and give them their just recompense as each one deserves.”
It is better to do good than to do bad. He kills a man. His blood is on his hands. His blood is crying to Heaven for vengeance.
The Lord said: “Vengeance is mine! I will repay!” Hell will be their lot. They do not even know how to ask God for forgiveness, to repent, make penance, sacrifice and restitution with a humble and contrite heart which will appease God that he might forgive them.
This is what the Court/judge/magistrate must inform them rather than have them bailed out and giving them a slap on the hand.
Read Matthew Chapter 7 and ask God Almighty for discernemnt
jah have plans for u
And what? 3yrs in prison
what is happening in this country? aRE poeple possessed by the devil? Is from one to the other! if is not one is the other! God help us. Somethin is wrong. I am 67 years, I have lived here all my life this is the worst that I have seen this place
have u been following/reading what is happening in other countries? Dominica is not alone. That does not make it right, but at the same time, don’t be a hypocrite.
hm……………… every time is a crime by dere and a crime by here……. what happen now them days…. back in those days we didnt have all this going on
u do see de time commin
which time that comming dere……….. all u like to say what u want we boy
It is shocking. I am asking myself that same question. I recall those days when we lived happily and in peace. We kept our doors and windows open, the latter even at nights. We walked the streets with no fear even at nights. We were so happy in DA.
We never thought that the situation would be as it is today. Something is wrong. Godlessness reigns in those people.
This is where the Government, the Police and the Court System must do their utmost to eradicate such crimes/murders. Collectively, it can be done.
