The police have charged a man with murder in connection with the killing of John ‘Ferdie’ Blaize, a bus driver from Layou.

43-year-old Gerard Tony Etienne of Fond Cole is now on remand at the state’s prison.

He appeared in court on Monday.

He is represented by attorney at law, Zena Dyer.

Preliminary inquiry into the matter is set for August 13, 2013.

Blaize was found around 11:30 pm on Wednesday April 17, in a pool of blood at his house in Layou.

He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The police said Blaize had injuries to his head.

I am deeply saddened that yet another Dominican resident lost his life. What did he do to that man who murdered him? This is what Dominicans want to know. They hear of people murdered, perpetrators arrested but they may not hear the reason why they were murdered. On occasion those murderers are bailed out.
Court System, I am warning you, when you allow murderers out on bail you are answerable to no other than God who wants his children to live in happiness and peace, free of fear of those who are governed by Satan, the detractor and destroyer of our souls, who govern those criminals/murderers.
Dominica is a small country. People should be living in love, happiness, peace and harmony. These escalating murders should not be allowed to continue. Those who commit crimes must pay the price – lifetime sentence with no parole. The death penalty should be restored.

Mori u have a point if Gerard Tony Etiene was pre-occupied with positive things he won’t be in trouble with the law, but i cannot see how Govt can give them jobs only the private sector can grow and economy i guess Skerrit could improve the standard of living of Dominicans by lowering taxes and easing the laws for business.

A man kills another and this is what you are stating? You know that some of them are lazy and only want to live the leisure life, sometimes, living off others. Examine your conscience.
You have a severe mental problem. You do not think straight. Put the blame where it belongs.
Why do you not tell the criminals to turn to God, recognize him, worship him, pray to him, have respect for others and their life and perform acts of love? Dominica would be a better, safer and happier place if they did.
They are the ones causing havoc in Dominica and placing fear in others, stealing and committing murders. They must bear the responsibility of their actions.

Are you a practicing Christian? How far do you expect rioting to take you and others who would participate in it? Take this out of your head. It serves no good purpose and will only get you and others who would be involved in trouble with the law.

      WELL SAID

    • Justice and Truth
      April 30, 2013

God is patient! He is patiently waiting as we are aging and also when we die.
Our Lord said to a visionary which is a message for all of us: “They will not be able to hide. He will find every one and give them their just recompense as each one deserves.”
It is better to do good than to do bad. He kills a man. His blood is on his hands. His blood is crying to Heaven for vengeance.
The Lord said: “Vengeance is mine! I will repay!” Hell will be their lot. They do not even know how to ask God for forgiveness, to repent, make penance, sacrifice and restitution with a humble and contrite heart which will appease God that he might forgive them.
This is what the Court/judge/magistrate must inform them rather than have them bailed out and giving them a slap on the hand.

It is shocking. I am asking myself that same question. I recall those days when we lived happily and in peace. We kept our doors and windows open, the latter even at nights. We walked the streets with no fear even at nights. We were so happy in DA.
We never thought that the situation would be as it is today. Something is wrong. Godlessness reigns in those people.
This is where the Government, the Police and the Court System must do their utmost to eradicate such crimes/murders. Collectively, it can be done.
