Kurt Edison Pemberton, of Victoria Street Newtown, has been charged with attempted murder in relations to the wounding of Bianca Blanchard, a female adult of Pointe Michel on Fields Lane in Roseau.
The chopping incident occurred about 12.35 pm on Monday 23rd November 2015.
According to Sergeant Pellam Jno Baptiste of the Police Public Relations Committee, Blanchard sustained injuries to the both arms and to her left leg and was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital where she was seen by a medical doctor and admitted.
Pemberton is now on remand at the Stock Farm Prison following his appearance before Magistrate Sherma Blaize Sylvester on November 26, 2015, where the charge was read to him.
He was not required to plea since the matter is an indictable one.
Senior police prosecutor, Inspector Michael Laduat, told the court that the prosecution was objecting to bail on the grounds that Pemberton may interfere with the virtual compliant and prosecution witnesses and since the victim was still a patient at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
The Magistrate upheld the objections to bail.
The matter has been adjourned to April 4th, 2016.
Pemberton, a bus driver, was not represented during the court appearance
