Deen Davis of Marigot has been charged for the murder of Ashton “Gold teeth” Gibbons.
Davis was remanded at the state prison after he appeared before Chief Magistrate Evelina Baptiste Monday morning.
According to reports, Davis had surrendered himself to police in connection with the stabbing death of Gibbons on July 9, 2010. Gibbons’ body was found in a vehicle on the morning of by-elections in Marigot on July 9 at a garage in Melville Hall, close to the airport.
Davis will appear in court at a later date for the preliminary inquiry into the matter.

How can you justify that???? Ashton, as far as I know, never hurt a fly. Anyways, God is God and time will tell! RIP Brother!!! Wish I could make it down to give you my final farewell. Killing Deen Wont Bring Ashton Back But it will surely make me feel damn comfortable.Everyone would be able to sleep at night and not be worried of him hurting another innocent person.(if they let him walk again) That system we have here is very stupid..

Somebody like ashton who showed so much love to his friends, i have a hard time looking at him hanging out of that vehicle. A human being in that state and the worst part is to imagine a bunch of hypocrites standind over him like some kind of exhibition. That eats my heart out.

Ever since Ashton stepped into Dominica trouble has always followed him…even the Marigot Police Officers abused him while he was a teenager….Ashton went through so much at the hands of wicked people in Marigot, Wesley, Woodford Hill, Calibishie, etc…It saddens my heart to know that he is gone…I have known Ashton from highschool and we have always kept in contact with each other. He was such a proud father…Doing whats best for his little princess and his wife…He adored them so much and now its all taken away from him. He didnt have to leave this way…He was a fighter.. Dean was a coward. He did this unexpectedly. If Ashton knew this was coming his was he would have fought hard. Hopefully justice will be served. Dean boy, you better hope they lock you up…cause God alone knows what will happen to you.

u know i’m really sick of this s**t. Do u honestly think he caresabout changing, he killed his own brother,got out,killed someone else for crap. There are people who grew up poor, abused, etc.. they don’t go aroung stealing or abusing other people, they try to better themselves so neither they nor their children will be in a situation like that again.

Ashton was my everything. I never even knew that Deen appeared infront a judge already cause no one informed us that he was. I saw it on t.v. … So when my babies ask why daddy died and what did the police do I will have to say they were to busy to study that??? PLEASE I beg to all who saw to come forward so that the accomplise can be arrested and I BEGGING the jury and judge to give him life or hang him. The death penalty!!! Even if the boys had a previous conflict, looking at this photo above this murder was not in SELF DEFENSE. The VICTIM was still in his vehicle. The LAW is blind depending on who your family is; we need stricter LAWS at home. Today is mine tomorrow might be yours.

I dont want to judge anyone but i knew both Ashton and Dean and i can personally that our prayers can do nothing for Dean. Ashton i am so sorry that u had to leave that way. If i was the first time that Dean commited a crime i would say that maybe he didnt think or maybe he made a mistake but after killing his brother he stayed two years and had time to think. Instead of trying to make us see that he made a mistake and was willing to change he did again. He said that he would kill again and he did. I am not saying to hang but please keep him off the streets bcuz this guy is a killing machine. Dont wait so he could do it again. Alas i cry so much when i heard what happened. I think there should be a public apology and the specific officers involved should be dealt with. if i were here i would file a civil suit against the Government of Dominica.
I have a friend who was beaten by the police last year, she was stripped in front of one of their male officers, and up to now the police have done nothing about it internally, even after reports were filed the next day.

His socio-economic problems, how he was raised as a child, his mental stability..etc. my heart goes out to the mother of the deceased,and also the mother of the suspect. But we have two lives at stake here .To all those who are sitting on the judgement sit, let us all pray over this whole sad situation, instead of saying to” hang” the suspect.Death penalty is not a deterent. Well those violent acts are manifestation of things we should expect if we keep burning fire on the law officers whenever they put their feet down to deal with potential criminals and violators of the LAW. I now sympathise with the Gibbons family and wish the little child all the best in growing without her loving daddy. Just hope the investigation is thorough and that man is nailed to the prison bars forever.

I hope that he gets his just due for the murder of Mr. Gibbons. Putting the famill through this horrendous act deserves the dealth penalty. I don’t know why the death penalty is not in place for such criminals. Dominicans would not be suffering like this if this were the case.
