Police are currently investigating the unexplained death of Jeffery Valmond, a 47-year-old man of Concord, who resided at Palm Tree in Woodfordhill.
Police PRO Kenth Matthew reported, “Some Calibishie persons who were going fishing between 8 and 9PM yesterday, Thursday September 29, 2011, found Valmond lying face down in the sea at Compton Point in Calibishie. Valmond was pronounced dead on that beach at 9:07 PM by the district medical officer and his body was transported to the Princess Margaret Hospital.”
Matthew expects that an autopsy will reveal further information concerning the cause of Valmond’s death and provide further insight into the investigations.
Matthew said, “It is expected that a postmortem will be done and the coroner will inquire into the circumstances surrounding that death.”

Do you see anyone throwing stones at a tree without fruits? When you are doing well, people will find a way to put you down. Calibishie is the best village in DA…Hence the critizism.

Why are there so many amateur detectives in Dominica, that when someone dies (unless in’t in hospital), people automatically think the worse. Put your over active minds to better use, and stop adding to the families grief.

Have you ever thought of that? There are times it is not through a natural cause.
We cannot jump to any conclusion because we don’t know if this person was a crime victim. The article said he was lying face down in the sea therefore we don’t know if he drown. The police did not say if he had any signs of injuries rather they said they must wait on the results from an autopsy which would established a cause of death. I am also certain that the police will interview his family to determine if he know how to swim so let us wait and stop making our country look like what it’s not. We come into the world but we do not know how long we will live and how we will go out. Consider babies, young children and young people. Not every one will live a long life to retirement and over. Our days are numbered. Only God knows why. Death comes like a thief in the night.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said: “Stay awake. Pray, for we do not know when the Master of the house will come!”
The best we can do is to worship God, live well, be loving/kind/generous and all will be well. Then we will have nothing to worry about.
Know too that some of us wished that we could re-live our lives from childhood. Would we not live differently? However, this is not meant to be. We are given one chance on earth. When that time is up, it is up. There is no turning or coming back.
