One man is currently assisting lawmen in connection to the November 3, 2015 death of Triscia Riviere, 26, of Stockfarm.

“There is one man in custody assisting the police with their investigations,” Pelham Jno Baptiste, of the Police Public Relations Committee, said.

According to him police responded to a report of domestic dispute about 4.50 pm in the community.

Upon arrival, Riviere was met bleeding from serious injuries.

“She was taken to the accident and Emergency of the Princess Margaret Hospital where she was examined by a medical doctor and officially pronounced dead,” he said.

He added that the death is being treated as a suspected homicide.

A coroner’s inquest will be convened including a post mortem to determine the cause of death of the deceased, Jno Baptiste noted.

Reports are that the man is a prison officer and has been with his girlfriend for over six years.

The couple also has a young child.

It is difficult to state what will happen in a relationship or a marriage for that matter. If their six-year relationship was tumultuous, the best thing she could have done for herself was to leave him.
Some women could be hesitant to end the relationship but there a times, based on the treatment received, they must know when to run away from a bad relationship.
Of course, there are men who will not allow them to leave. Some of them prefer to injure and/or murder them. This has occurred many times and not only in D/ca.
For a young woman, only 25 years, it is sad that she lost her life at his hands, a man she has been with for 6 years, knowing him since she was 19 years of age.
Where did all the love go or was there any love at all on his part? If you love someone, you do not murder them; not even harm them in any way.
God is merciful. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul rest in peace. Amen!

The most important thing now that this has occurred……. this child should be raised carefully. He is a boy and boys are in love with their mother. So it’s going to be hard for him. And am sure he also loves his dad and they both are kind of taken away from him at an early tender age. He needs much much love from grandparents from both sides. Spoil him in a good way… so that this won’t have any negative effect on him. The kid seems awesome. Be patient with him in always and give him the best environment so he can grow up as normal as it is meant to be for any one of us. Peace!

Why is the name not being released? the name of the innocent victim was released so why not the one of the one who committed the crime.

We have all the information. If the name isn’t released within the next 5 hours we will publicly submit the name.

To the ADMIN: If you do not let this comment above the dotted line post, we will instantly release the names.

You all need to stop this nonsense with this religion. It was given to you, you accepted it. Stop! God lives in you and everything around you. In any event women need to be more selective about the men who they chose to have in their lives. Same goes for men. Oftentimes we see the signs but we are so scared to do what is right by ourselves because our Christian society will condemn us for our choices. I’m sure this young man showed signs of his violent tendencies before this incident. It is the way of this generation to demonstrate their violent ways like never before. We need to figure out why this is happening. We are trying to package things from the States wholesale. Well some things anyway, more of the bad…it’s about time we start having school psychologists, we need to start screening people for certain jobs. Something needs to give in this place. I feel sad for the generations coming. And no, I don’t believe it’s anything to do with end of times. Badminded evil people!

SimplyDominican, my thoughts exactly. Our women need to choose Godly men to raise christian families. Imagine you are a Godly man or woman and Satan and his demons try to ride you much less for a Godless person. Jesus is the answer.

Godly man my foot ok. I have a godly man now trying to do ungodly things to me now. we are human and hence not exempt from sin. one never knows what lies behind the skin untill it rears its ugly head. there are men on the street now who take good care of their women never lay a hand keep them up first class. and then there are those educated christian so called mind you “men” who treat their women like poop under their shoes so to each his own. these people are just insane and jealous, wanting nothing more than to hold an iron fist over their woman.

Deepest Sympathy to the family of Tricia Riviere. In all that we do, we have to put God as the center of our relationships, so the devil will not get hold of us in that manner. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness! Ladies if you can’t see God in your man, leave him alone! Same goes for men!

Apart from the first sentence you make absolutely no sense.

        November 5, 2015

The person makes no sense to you because you can’t understand the power of the Almighty. Let me reiterate what he just told you in particular. If you are in a relationship and God is not the foundation things like this will happen. It dosen’t mean you will not have disagreements, but if and when they do come ‘disagreements’ God helps you to get through them. So he is making a lot of sense. Because you disagree with a person’s statement dosen’t mean he/she is not making sense, because I could have said the same about your statement.

Really! While Christians aren’t perfect, one thing is for sure, you are least likely to find a Godly christian man doing that to a woman. The most Christians do, is divorce. Though I am not in favor of divorce, it better you divorce the person or walk away from a bad relationship if you are not married than for it to end like that. But you see, when we tell young people to stay in church and/or choose Godly people to marry and raise children with they refuse to listen and so they end up in these situations. No matter how bad you think church people are, those out there worse. At least someone who answers to God is more likely to treat you like the precious gem you are and exercise self -control. Imagine I heard of a woman who left her husband telling him he too holy!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL etc… She is just asking for trouble.
As for me, I will take my chances with a good Godly man even if is church alone we go. At least I know I am in goooooooooooooooooood Godly hands!!!!!

DA Native perception is key. I understand what SimplyDOminican said, but what if i live a good life and respect humans and nature but dont believe in your god, or a god or God? Id hope you wudnt be like the spanish inquisition and damn me to hell or call me heathen or lost soul or whatever you so called christians like to call others who haven’t bought into religions. My point is, in case you havent figured, is Simply Dominicans statement would make no sense to me if that was my situation, so maybe this is why Independent Observer stated what he stated. Too many times we like to think others are supposed to think the way we do, but thats not the case

While all of us are susceptible to many thumbs down, depending on our comments which may not please some people, I see why you got so many thumbs down. You are either an atheist or agnostic.
If people have God in their lives, they may just avoid such incidents and death. God protects.
Granted, no one is perfect. They must also choose their partner wisely and watch their mannerism for compatibility. Much more could be stated about that.

      What is this??
What on earth does God in a person have to do with this. The person who killed her ( name wont be said) supposedly believed in God too and was religious. SMH

At the end of the day, we are all the same. Just Human beings with evil and good in all of us.

      • The Real Facts
        November 5, 2015

Those who are religious will comprehend it. It is obvious you are not. I suppose it is what you are looking for in a relationship.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”
Their relationship may appear happy but how long will it last if it is not Christo-centered, even marriage? Too many deceive themselves otherwise.
Keep God out, you reject Him and you obviously do not have him. His presence is not in your home, your relationship and your endeavors. Need I state more?
