UPDATE: Marigot man found guilty of murder

Jones (left) is charged in the stabbing death of Wallace

A nine-member jury of seven women and two men has returned a unanimous guilty verdict in the murder case involving Rudy Junior Jones of Marigot.

Falcon Wallace was killed on August 24, 2012 in Marigot but Jones who claimed that the deceased had “provoked him and tried to rob him of his money and he was forced to defend himself.”

Speaking to the press moments after the verdict was announced, defense counsel David Bruney, who represented Jones in the matter, called the case “a difficult one” but said, “we will appeal.”

“It’s a murder case and you know that an appeal is coming and we feel that we have some healthy ground for appeal,” he said.

Asked where he thinks it may have gone wrong for his client, Bruney said, “might be the nature of the wound which was extensive internally and maybe the jury felt that way, you never know what the jury thinks.”

He continued, “You are never surprised at the decision when it comes to murder…the jury sees things and that’s why you have an appeal court. We see positive areas for appeal.”

Bruney expressed thanks and congratulations to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for their professional way in dealing with the matter.

“I just want to thank the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) office who was very accommodating in this trial. It’s nice to do a case with counsel who is very civil and the DPP staff was very good I want to congratulate them because they did a good job,” Bruney stated.

State attorney attached to the office of the DPP Fernillia Felix prosecuted the case and she was assisted by Ann Riviere and Carlita Benjamin.

The court has ordered a social injury report and also a psychiatric report on the convicted murderer on or before June 22, 2017.

The state has said that they will not seek the death penalty in the matter.

No date has been fixed yet for sentencing.

Jones is now on remand at the Stock Farm Prison.

What this young man did was wrong. He has damaged the heart of the loved ones of the deceased. Not only did the victim’s side suffer but his family. But what was the root of this murder? We are commanded not to kill! Who tempts us into breaking the commandments of God? When we break God’s commandment we are hurting ourselves! Therefore, it is safe to say that this boy was also hurt!
Eternity past, God was existence and wanted to show his attributes like being a savior, a friend, a comforter, deliverer, the only God………. so he created man for his pleasure, in his very likeness and image. This means that we must have a free will to make choices. When we make wrong choices and recognize that we are going wrong, we are convicted to call on his name with pain and he answers in order to fulfill those attributes.
He therefore becomes our savior, deliverer, protector………
But we must continue to trust him and walk in his ways, otherwise we will fall right back where we came…

      continuation:
We need rest and food to feed our body but spirit beings don’t need any of this, therefore they can toil night and day. Our destruction or protection depends on the choice we make.
This man who committed the murder still has a chance. Believe it or not! He may very well come out of prison a new man depending on his choice, Therefore, we must not point fingers.
we need to look at our lives and examine whether we are living a life pleasing to God. Praying (toiling), reading his word and sharing his love, which includes following his commandment.
It is the devil’s will that we are destroyed with him because there is no plan of salvation for him but God’s will (Jesus Christ) that none should perish and all should repent and live a prayerful and holy life.
Of course we will sin, but we will not deliberately try to offend God and when this happens, there is the cross which will cleanse us.
      May Jesus’s name be praised.

Its is the law personel that is guilty. Falcon wallace robbed a number of people in that way. I can say that because he did it to me. One creole festival night. When it was postponed because of the huricane. While going to a bar. Falcon wallace just grabbed and cornered me. Searched me guickly and took my smartphone and money. And still demanded more from a woman that was with me.

T-O-I-D-I, i want you to list for the readers, the numbers of murders that were committed in the past ten years by village,district/constituency, however you want to classify it.

Then i want you to call on all the Parl Reps to put peace the same way you chose to single out Lennox Linton.

A message has to be sent to these young people; that you cannot go about killing others and continue to walk among us. Giving these criminals a “slap on the wrist” could fuel their criminal and lethal activities.

In my opinion that is just rubbish. base on the information on the case, it is an easy case of self defense or maybe manslaughter for the most…but murder?…who the prosecuters have to send jail they out on the road , while other inside feeling it…
