Marigot man goes on trial for stabbing death

Jones (left) is charged in the stabbing death of Wallace

The murder trial involving Rudy Junior Jones of Marigot commenced on Thursday at the High Court in Roseau.

Jones, in 2012, was charged for the stabbing death of Falcon Wallace in Marigot.

The incident occurred around midnight in August of 2012, in an area of Marigot called “The Dam”.

Reports are that Wallace died as a result of a stab wound he sustained to his lower abdomen during an altercation with Jones.

Attorney at law David Bruney is representing Jones while the State’s case is led by State attorney Fernillia Felix.

High court Judge Victoria Charles-Clarke is the presiding Judge in the matter.

Wow only now five years later smh

  6. Does it take five years to bring a murder charge to trial :?:

    Witnesses move away.
    People tend to forget details.
    Witness tampering happens.
Those involved on both sides want to get it behind them so they can move on.

There are other reasons why a speedy trial is to be desired.

    Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

Toronto, Canada for that matter has a similar problem. Did you hear recently that a few criminals were released from prison because it took too long to have their cases heard? There is a backlog of cases. This was broadcasted and published. Some criminals walk free up here.

We are suppose follow the village concept

  9. Two things you and I cannot know.

One is the sorrow felt by the loved ones of the victim. The other is the fear faced by the accused.

We want justice to be done. Is it too much to hope that justice will be mingled with mercy :?:

I must tell you (terrible as it is) God is willing to forgive murder and all our other sins if we truly repent
and believe the gospel (the good news that Christ died for our sins and rose again) and receive Him as our personal Savior. The Bible says *…the blood of Jesus Christ (God*s Son) cleanseth us from ALL sin.* (1 John 1:7)

This does not mean God is soft on sin or that he overlooks murder. God is a God of justice so justice must be served. How then can God be a God of justice and forgive murder :?: Let me tell you how. It is because
justice has already been served. On the cross at Calvary all our sins were laid upon Christ. He became our legal substitute and bore our punishment! Yes, justice has been satisfied.

    • Continuation:

Now God can be both just AND the justifier of all who believe in Jesus!

Please get your Bible and read Isaiah 53:5,6. See how it says God (the Father) laid all our sins upon the Lord Jesus. he bore our punishment. Yes, justice has been satisfied!

Now we only need to BELIEVE in Him. Read John 3:16, Acts 16:31, Romans 5:1 and Ephesians 2:8,9.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

    • Continuation:

Now we only need to believe this. it is by believing we receive this forgiveness and it becomes ours.

    • Please read Isaiah 53:5,6.

    • Continuation:

Listen to what the word of God says.

*All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.* (Isaiah 53:6)

Regardless of how great our sins have been they were all laid upon Christ. Even one of those sins would have kept us out of heaven and damned us to hell. But on the cross Christ accepted the guilt for every sin
and suffered all that justice required by dying in our stead. The Bible says *… Christ died for the ungodly.* (Romans 5:6) and *… Christ died for us.* (Romans 5:8) We cannot save ourselves by our own good works. It is written *For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.* (Ephesians 2:8,9) We must simply believe :!: The Bible says *Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, …* (Acts 16:31) Also read John 3:16 & 36!

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill.

Belief ONLY will not save you. You must be baptized in order to be saved.

It is for this reason why the world has not yet come to an end, all because of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This is why Our Almighty Father is patient, merciful and forgiving.
As you are aware of, Our Almighty Father was quick to punish in the ancient days.
You are correct. It is not because he is soft but that “God sent His Only Son that whoever believes in Him might be saved.” He gives many chances for repentance, even at the time of death. This is why we cannot/should not judge.
Our Lord usually said “might.” He also said: “Those who obey His (Our) Heavenly Father’s Will, will be saved.”
Have you heard that when a certain number of people die the end will come? Much has to take place prior to that. God has His plans.
In the meantime, we must strive for mortal and spiritual perfection.
We know, God deceives no one and He cannot be deceived.
Life is an ongoing perfection. It does not cease for us until we die.

things and times and changed and the sooner the “older folk” accepts this, comments like “in my day” and “way back when” wouldn’t be used, and more comments like “lets do this” or how can we work to restore humanity and humility.. focusing on the past does not help the future
I am in no way condoning any man killing another like an animal, God knows its vile.. however the sooner we stop condemning without any action to prevent or even lessen the chances of it happening in the future.. it will keep happening.
we need to find ways for more community and character building.. people has little to regard for human lives and rights. so much hate and anger.. quick to act and slow to think..

I know these 2 guys.. its a shame

@767gem. You aught to correct yourself more than once. How can one forget their past, when the difference between then and now is like night and day? Do you own and drive a motor vehicle? i hope so – How would you feel operating a vehicle on the public road daily without it being equip with rear view mirrors? Looking back could be equally important as looking ahead. I hope that’s not too much tobacco for your pipe.
