Shane Degallerie being led out of court

The murder trial of Shane Degallerie of Pottersville, who is accused of stabbing Justin Joseph of Fond Cole to death on April 23, 2010, has recommenced after having been traversed because of juror illness.

Joseph was killed during an incident which occurred at a shop in Pottersville, after an alleged quarrel.

The matter was started during the September 2012 Criminal Assizes but the court was forced to traverse it after the foreperson of the jury fell ill.

Degallerie is represented by Zena Moore Dyer and Gina Dyer Munro.

The State’s case is led by acting DPP, Julien Prevost, assisted by state attorneys, Arthlyn Nesty and Sherma Dyrmaple.

A jury of 7 seven men and 2 women is hearing the matter.

Dca needs a better justice system. Ppl commit murders and are free in no time. Imagine how the victim’s family is feeling. Until there is a better justice system, these sought of crimes will continue to happen in Dca, sadly bc there needs to be serious consequences!

How can you expect real justice on sucha serious matter, when it takes at least 3 years before a hearing. We all know that justice delayed is justice denied.

By the time these matters reach court, evidence disappear, witnesses have either died, left the state, gotten corrupted or have memory loss. Police investigators also go through the same malaise.

It is time to speed things up. Dominica has 5 times as many lawyers as 20 years ago, and 1/2 the population, yet legal proceedings take twice as long to execute.

Innocent until proven guilty. They don’t have enough evidence yet, so they playing sick. That Dominica there is dangerous like that nuh!! if he is found guilty, i hope that he never see the sun again. They think that they could get away with murder in Dominica; so they taking their chances. They say that some policemen are taking bribe to hide and throw evidence, for as little as $500.00 – RUM MONEY –
