The fact that Clarence pleaded guilty could be an indication of his remorse for the crime he committed. A sad day indeed. Clarence was raised well. he did not have everything he wanted. But certainly he had everything he needed. A loving grand-mother who went out of her way to ensure he had what he needed. I suppose the shame drove her away from Dominica. To the family of Marvlyn. As difficult as this may be , you must reconcile with the fact that Marvlyn did not go to Roseau to run an errand. She will never come back, Harboring hatred for Clarence will not bring peace and closure to the case. Clarence now has a lifetime to ponder on the hate that consumed him that morning. He viciously stole the life out of someone who showed love to him. That is his lot. He must live with the thought of that forever and ever amen. What is true also is that he might have made his peace with his God. He was raised in a household that taught him how to do just that. I too forgive you Clarence.

With all the lawyers in DA all the judges why so long to call a case? Where the bar association in all of this? The victim family deserves closure

From all over the world come report of increasing lawlessness and crime crimes of violence, such as murder, rape and robberies, are running wild all around the world .The inclination of the heart of man is bad from his youth up but in your heart you may desire things that you know are bad.The fact that they do wrong when they wish to do right mankind need to fear God.

Time really files. It is almost 4 years since that fateful day. There are times I wondered about this case. Someone recently asked me about it. Those who knew Marvlyn will be pleased to know the case will be called and this young man given the appropriate sentence. This should give her family some degree of peace.
It is sad that her brother Donnie passed on soon after, a few months later. Poor guy. Obviously he took it hard. It caused a strain on his heart. RIP Donnie!
His mother, brothers Eddie and Skeff also passed on. May their souls rest in peace. Amen!
This young man did much harm to Marvlyn and her family. If he has a conscience, he will have a lifetime to repent. He should also ask the forgiveness of Marvlyn’s family and all those who knew her prior to sentencing.

I wonder why the DPP (Director of Public Prosecution) office is to lazy to prosecute Bernie Samuel? I am also happy to read the family of the late Marvlyn Robinson has forgiven the accused. God bless you guys. Revenge is mine says the Lord, and the true Christian should always forgive no matter what.

Lazy to do what? If he did commit the crime you want him to pay the time.

  12. March 14, 2016

The majority of people that are killed are killed by people that they know, but what makes it worse is to find out that the people they kill were close to them and from whom they have received help…what a shame on you young man ,this lady was nice to you but you paid her back by taking her life…I hope your friends will see your mistake and think before they react in the future ..she is in peace now…

More than three years to bring this case before the court, more than three years of grief for the berieved and over three years lost of the life of the co-accused, against whom the state withdrew its charge. Our justice system sucks.

and to add insult to injury, the guy is not released instantly and will not be compensated for three lost years.

      March 14, 2016

what you expect… one may not have committed the crime but the other he was there. The Justice system works better than most countries even the US. The man whose charges were dropped against was in jail because he couldn’t make bail. The murderer will be locked up for a looooooong time!

All I can say is that you must be a very callous person. If the prosecution decides to drop the charges it means a not guilty verdict. That young man may have been present at the crime but if the court decides that he has no charge to answer he is not guilty by law. That is why we must not tolerate delays like these because obviously that young man’s life is ruined also. Who is going to pay for that?

I read the news and was shivering all over!!! I am still in tears writing this. God is love. I am so happy that you forgive Clarence. Take time for your family to heal and above all, stay close to each other.

Our Lord told us to forgive. For us human beings, it is tough to do especially where a loved one is concerned. It is good of you to forgive him.
I knew Marvlyn very well. I was shocked to hear the news of what occurred to her.
Marvlyn and her mother once spent some time with me in Canada. This is a family I know very well since my childhood days.
I continue to think of her. It is still difficult to bear. What a wonderful person she was, talented and hospitable. This makes it more difficult to know she is no longer with us. Nevertheless, she is at peace. RIP.
I can imagine what you and your family went through then and thereafter. It is not something you will ever forget, even though you forgave the young man. Memories of her live on.
I wish you and your family well. God bless you! Keep well!

People can change overnight and in a wink of an eye. The saying: “Who knows what lurks in the heart of man (woman)?
It shows how much people must turn to God, practice the faith fervently and pray that they may avoid evil actions and pitfalls.
Whoever thought he would do this to her? He probably thought he would not be caught. He jeopardized his future. There is no doubt he will spend the rest of his life regretting what he did.

      • March 14, 2016

As long Stan’s world exist, the fight to do what’s right is prayers however, our fight is not only against Satan world :it is also against our own desire to do what is good.
