Newtown woman reported missing; third in recent times

missing manPolice are seeking the assistance of the general public in locating 52-year-old Bernadine Jean-Jacques, of Newtown, who has been reported missing.

This is the third person to be reported missing in Dominica in recent times.

Police PRO, Acting Inspector Pellam Jno Baptiste, described Jean Jacques as being of Kalinago descent, standing at about 5’5”, fair in complexion, with curly brown hair.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a red, tropical styled dress.

She was last seen on June 7, 2016, and is suspected to be mentally challenged, Jno Baptiste said.

Recently there have been reports of two other missing persons.

Sherian Joseph, living in Castle Bruce but originally from Petite Soufriere, was last seen at about 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 15, 2016, on the Castle Bruce Highway and has not been seen since.

Also, 77-year-old Marcellin Williams, of Soufriere has been reported missing. He left his residence at about 8:30pm, on Friday, June 3, 2016, and his whereabouts remain a mystery.

Anyone with information which can assist the Police in discovering the whereabouts of any of the missing persons should contact the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) at 266-5164/266-5165/266-5119, or Crime Stoppers Dominica at 1-800-8477.

DNO is attempting to get a photo of Jean-Jacques since one was not provided by the police.

Three persons missing but that is not important to the police. They too busy looking for the 24 missing Rolex watches. It is a shame that we now value material things over people.

    • June 11, 2016

Could it be that the police have a shortage of officers to accommodate the work load?

Perhaps the police budget does not allow for the number of officers or the overtime that is called for? Or a limited budget prevents them from offering a reward or putting out posters and fliers, or making an appeal on television.

The number of people missing within such a short time frame is deeply troubling.

Has anybody organized a search party for these missing people?

Certainly missing PEOPLE are more important than missing THINGS and should take priority over Rolex watches. Monetary value counts for nothing in a situation like this. Human life is all important. Everything else should be put on hold and all resources ought to be focused on the recovery of those who are missing. Not only for their sake. Potential tourists want to know the island is safe to visit.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

I am an international evangelist with a care for countries outside my own, even for nations I have not yet been able to visit for services. Dominica is one of these nations. The fact that many people cannot understand this changes nothing.

I congratulate those of you who have enough spiritual discernment to know that an evil spiritual force is at work in Dominica. This is more than a natural human influence. It is satanic and supernatural.

I invite all you good people in Dominica who know the Lord to join me in prayer. An evil presence has moved in on you. You can bind the strong man and break this spell. I ask all who are filled with the Holy Spirit and understand spiritual warfare to “pray in the Spirit” against this vile influence.

        Please read:

        1 Corinthians 14:14
        Jude 20,21

        Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

People need to stop blaming others for their own wrong,on the other hand,i think many things are happening to our country as an eye opener,Almighty God is speaking but people just won’t listen I believe that it is time for us to give our lives over to the Lord totally, let him take full control, evil is real why? because the devil’ is a real devil,And also God is real,so let’s purpose in our hearts to live right OK,this will be pleasing to God,according to his word ,he alone can save us from all these evil.

So sorry that another person, this time a woman has disappeared. Something fishy, wicked and sinful are occurring in Dominica.
I still hope they are safe and not harmed.
The government/police should warn nationals to be careful. Today, people must be careful who they associate with, where they walk, where they go to and of the time of day/night.
If anyone is holding them, know that God knows. He knows you, what you are up to and are doing. You will not escape from our God in addition to his just punishment.
Lord, whatever evil is occurring in Dominica please inspire all Dominicans and law-abiding ones at that to pray for their country and nationals to eradicate them. You expect us to pray for our country and for each other.
Lord, if the missing people are being held against their wishes, please protect them and guide them to safety. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Thank You Lord!

The Police…communities. .Cadets..everyone should be out searching for these people…Families please put out yourselves and search…too much talk..Action

    • June 11, 2016

“… everyone should be out searching…”

Everyone should be asking “What would I do if it was a member of my family?”

What is needed is individuals to organize searches. Not only one person but different ones in various areas. Literally comb the country.

      Sincerely, Rev. Donald Hill. Evangelist.

How can the police and residents not find someone in DA… the Island is so small. People are not actively looking for the person or persons. From the time the missing persons report is filled you have to start looking and not stop.

It seems someone is reported missing, they document it and wait for the person to show up magically!

What happen to national ID’s at least there would be a picture of this person so people would know what she looks like.

Instead of lamenting and critically so, pray for your country and fellow people. When last have you done that? Hope you pray for yourself and for your family.
Evil is always lurking around the corner and when we least expect it. Everyone is in need of God’s protection.
We should also never leave home without asking God for his guidance and protection and also blessing ourselves/family with Holy Water.
Make The Sign of The Cross as often as you can. The devil and his corteges will flee and leave us alone.
If the lady is suspected of being mentally challenged, she may not be able to pray for herself.
If you are a Catholic, pray also to St. Michael the Archangel and The (Your) Guardian Angel. Actually, anyone could pray them. More than once I typed these prayers on DNO. I have no idea if you have seen them.
God has specifically given us these means of intercession for also our protection.
Remember what Our Lord said: “Apart from Me you can do nothing.”
