Police PRO, Inspector John Carbon, said on July 12, 2013 about 4:00 am, members of the Drug Squad and the Coast Guard Unit conducted an anti drug operation in the community located in the south of the island.

During the operation over 1,400 pounds of Marijuana, an open keel boat named BOWDEL powered by 2 – 200 horse power engines and one Nissan pick-up registration number PD387 was seized.

The identity of the individual was not released by the police.

Investigations are continuing, Inspector Carbon said.

Hard drugs are bad. Question on the street is, how come when they boast of big marijuana busts it’s always followed by lots of coke on de streets. They never turn in the expensive small packages they find. They must turn in the marijuana because it has too large a footprint fot them to keep. That’s exactly why they can’t put a dent into the hard drugs trade. They neede to ease up on the marijuana to enable them to put a dent into coke on the island.

More job creation = less job dealing. Youngsters graduate from HS and DSC, with a little or no chance of getting a job. I personally don’t support drug dealing, but when jobs are hard to find, what do you expect them to do?…OUR YOUNG PEOPLE NEED JOBS!

Drug dealing in Dominica is profitable to the dealers because the sentence for such crime is lenient. I’m sure they have counted to cost and view it as a chance worth taking. It’s a very quick money making business. I like to take it slow though…

I am no supporter of the police, because i personally believe that many of them are too political, and as an institution, these policemen/women, have done irreparable damage to the force as an institution. If i had my way all of them would be at their homes. However on matters of drug, i have no choice but to support them, since i have seen what drugs have done to people who possessed extreme potential,skills,abilityetc.. So good job by the police. Continue the good work to reduce the amount of drugs on our streets, and on the streets of other islands. The vehicle must have an owner, so more arrests soon.
Too many young boys in particular, are like paros on the street, in our schools, communities, etc. These criminals are destroying our human resource. THEY NEED TO BE JAILED!!!!!!!

      July 12, 2013

So do u think that u can enter a herbal or drug store in the USA and buy 1,400 pounds of marijuana? What would u be doing with all of that, Then u will surely get arrested

    • CUSTOMZ
      July 12, 2013

Well they should be fined for not declaring the ‘product’ to customs for clearance.

So you want to bring down Dominica to the level of the U.S. I would not be proud of this. American has since gone down the slippery slopes and is descending into the path of perdition. Were it not for the sincere prayers of some and their penance and sacrifices, God would have already destroyed that country.
In the Old Testament, Our Almighty Father said, “If he found nine people who pay him homage and pray to him, He will not destroy that land.” Fortunate for America and other countries that the sincere prayers of some are holding back the hands of God, for now anyway.
When God is fed-up and angry enough about what is occurring in the world, He will let fall fire and brimstones on the earth. He will first go to the bigger countries where, due to their population more abominations are committed which highly offend him. Then, to the smaller ones. As God looks on, such sinfulness and increasing ones cannot last forever. They last for so long.
