Out of control anger lands young man in court

Twenty year old Yannick Patrick of Yampiece received a four month suspended sentence on Tuesday morning, after being charged with resisting arrest and using insulting language.

Patrick was arrested and charged at his residence for verbally assaulting police officers who were executing a search warrant there.

In court the unemployed Yampiece resident expressed remorse for his actions and explained that his anger “went out of control”.

He denied resisting arrest and told the magistrate that he was trying to stay out of trouble.

The Roseau Magistrate cautioned the young man and warned him not to get involved in criminal activity.

Out of control anger? He is not a smart man. Surely he should know that never insult Police Officers. These are the last people and never you should ever insult and use profane language to. When the Police approach you for whatever reason and under any circumstance, be docile and obedient. Otherwise you will get into additional trouble.
I recently read the following which I made note of. It was stated by George Washington:
“The foolish and wicked practice of profane cursing and swearing is a vice so mean and low that every person of sense and character detests and despises it.”
There are some excellent sayings which are in circulation and floating around be it that they were stated hundreds of years ago. We could learn from them.
These things have their people. Really, decent people do not swear and by no means at the Police.
I hate hearing swearing. If per chance I hear people swearing and I feel I should inform them (I use my discretion with the help of God), I inform them that it is hard on my ears.
He got off easy. He obstructed the Police and should be given some more months, if not a year.
Why can some people not live in peace and harmony with others? They will be happy for it.

      @ me

Everyone has a right to freedom of speech. It all depends how we utilize it. Swearing at Police, utilizing profane language also to anyone does not qualify here. People could be charged for swearing at others which could be deemed as insulting them and disturbing the peace, depending on how loud they are.
This brings to my mind, smilingly, what a religious person stated: People (some) always say “Go to Hell”; never “Go to Heaven. People must practice the latter.
St. Paul said: “Bless people. Do not curse them.”
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Whatsoever you do to the least of these you do to Me.”
Likewise, the reproaches/insults of those who do, fall on Me.”
People better clear up their act/language. For consider how much God will hold us accountable for failing to practice “Love toward others.” Those who do not love others do not love God and vice versa. Time for an overall change.

Freedom of Speech is attached to responsibilities or duties of citizens. You must be responsible for what you say and how you say it. That’s why there is a thing called slander.
